Customers are impressed with the convenient keyboard, ease of use, and large screen size of the 11.6" tablet. Many also appreciate its affordable price. While some users found the performance and weight to be drawbacks, others noted that storage could be limited.

I would give this minus 5 stars, if I could. I bought the ten inch tablet and returned it after a failure. I then purchased an upgrade to the 11.6 inch unit to use for editing various text including books and Google Docs. I found that the unit is extremely slow and unusable for these tasks. It also has not had an OS update during the time I have owned it. That puts it way behind on security fixes. I have used it over the past year to watch movies on the Xfinity app. However, even here, it frequently freezes. Now, the unit will not boot and on power-on, it displays Chinese DOS menus. The tablet with keyboard is a nice idea. The physical appearance and structure is reasonable but internal build and firmware quality is terrible. I am very disappointed in this unit. Skip these cheap tablets. You don't even get what you pay for. Sure glad I bought the extended warranty!

I use an Alienware computer for my "X" Plane 11 flight simulator. It works very well but I needed a pad for the flight instruments. The I-pads were to expensive for my budget. The 11.6" Android was priced right and the size was perfect and it works very nicely!

The pros are the price, ease of use, screen size, and optional keyboard. The biggest con is the speed. This is not a fast tablet. I read the reviews before purchase, and expected this going in. The keyboard has a nice feel, and the tablet, overall, is quite heavy and sturdy feeling. Use caution when installing apps, some make the tablet completely freeze up for a few minutes.

We have six tablets in our house and this is the cheapest one and works better than all of them. Very pleased with this purchase and the quality of it. Very nice screen clear and bright. I have one of the first quad core tablets that was over $500. This Insignia is much better than it ever was at a fraction of the cost. Good battery life if I don't turn brightness up all the way. Like the USB-C Charging cable that can be inserted either way. The picture I submitted does not show how good the screen really looks.

I bought this for a specific purpose - biggest, cheapest screen I could get on a tablet, with the intent of using it to display chord sheets and lyrics while playing in my band and at church. For limited use, it's pretty great - but it's definitely a budget tablet, so be aware of that. It struggles switching between apps, and has pretty constrained RAM so switching between larger apps is often actually restarting one and ending the other in the background. The touch screen is not glass and you'll feel that difference in the build quality. Tasks that can strain memory and processors, such as web browsing, can be pretty frustrating.
However, it does have its uses, and I've come to rely on it more and more within its niche. It's pretty good at movies - Vudu, Netflix, Amazon Video all run pretty well on it. The aforementioned music chart app works great, and the keyboard is a huge plus there. It works great as a remote terminal (using VNC or RDP) to other computers - I like the form factor of that vs my larger laptop or a non-keyboard tablet when I want to just step away from my desk. And the battery life is pretty stellar - there's a lot of room in there for that battery. :-)
I wouldn't recommend to a friend only because of the lag time in switching applications and performing some more intensive tasks - if you're OK with that, this is a pretty great tablet. For my original use case, I'd absolutely buy it again - the size puts the iPads my bandmates use to shame, and my eyes aren't getting any younger!

For my medical assistant I require to use the online virtual portal for UHA (online education in Beverly Hills) known as Classe365 and virtual live video class app called JoinMe.. for these (not personal) basics only, with email , Chrome, etc.. it's fine with it's full keyboard.. one each side has a USB port and a MicroSD card port reader. But the only charge port it has is via 3A USB cable. No Micro, Trapazoid, Old iPod 16port, New iPod 5-6port cable, or any other kind of port available. Becomes slow and starts to lag after 4-5 large apps intalled.. and RAM n Memory is used if otherwise the PreInstalled and other Not-In-Use Apps are Disabled & Forced-Stopped in the Settings under APPS under View All Apps.
This be good if u plan to use strictly for one goal, basic and only the essential needed for study. And also keep in mind if ur planning to get a better in a few months and just have this till then, then it's good.. otherwise don't waste ur money.. in bestbuy is at $180 plus tax

I needed to purchase an inexpensive tablet for my mother so she can surf the web and view Youtube videos. Thought this might be a good buy. Unfortunately, it hasn't aged well. At first, it was pretty easy logging in to her Google account and installing apps from the Google Play Store. At least you can add additional storage via the micro SD card slot. Unfortunately, the performance lags if you have at least 3 apps open, especially Youtube and Chrome. I would recommend that Insignia install more than 1GB of RAM to improve performance. Currently, it runs extremely slow even when she clears the cache. A couple of times, she had to do a hard reset and reinstall the apps. It is nice that it has an attached keyboard and the display stays stationary like a laptop but internally, the performance needs improvement.

I was purchasing this for my mother so she can use this when she visits her relatives. It seems well built and quite hefty compared to other tablets that I have used. I like that it has Android 7.0 so it is not totally outdated in terms of the OS. However, it does bog down if you use more than two or three apps at a time. Also, my mother already had to reset the tablet and restore her apps on it twice when it inexplicably went into this weird diagnostic mode where everything was in Chinese. Not sure what caused it but it was low on charge when it happened. Just to be on the safe side, I had her make sure she plugged it into a surge protector when she was charging it. The speaker is alright, not too loud. At least, this came with a keyboard but you should consider getting a case for it. I wish it had more RAM instead of just 1GB. The storage is decent at 32GB and you can add a microSD card. For the price, it is OK but if you want better performance and reliability, I would recommend purchasing if you want an Android tablet, go with Samsung.

...except it has insufficient memory. The tablet has a nice feel and the snap on/snap off keyboard is awesome. The display is suitable for the size of the device, and android play apps run fine, as long as there is enough memory. The problem I had was with the Gmail app. I use a number of accounts, but with just one account added, the app would frequently shut down. I can only imagine how it would function with all of my accounts. I had similar results with the play store. 512mb if ram is simply not enough for Android 7.0. If there were more ram, I would have kept it, but it was returned after about a week of frustrating usage.

I bought this tablet primarily to have a larger screen for reading e-books and such. I like having the keyboard. This is a bit heavy but I'm not particularly disappointed about that. What is most frustrating is that this device is slow in the extreme. Many times messages appear indicating apps are not responding or have crashed. I attempted to use a 128 gb microsd card to store books and such on, and configuring the card as internal storage (e.g., expanding the storage) resulted in total failures to write (on 64 gb card also) and corruption of the cards. I could not successfully read my kindle e-books without extreme delays so I've removed the app and given up. I would return this item if it was still within the 30 day time limit. My work-around to use this at all has been to pretty much limit its use to web browsing and exclusively when traveling where I need a keyboard as nothing else works well on this device.

The Insignia 11.5 in tablet is a good entry level tablet that works well for non professional use. Does everything that the high price tablets do only slightly slower with a lower end processor. 11.5 inch screen is appreciated for us with glasses and the keyboard is an added bonus. Reasonably priced and functional enough for most users.

I was looking for a decent sized tablet for my husband and myself. These are a good size and barely over $100, so a cheap price as far as tablets go. They come with the keyboard. We have had issues with ours, but they mostly work. Apps freeze a lot and slow down the tablet. Google play and chrome do a lot. But I watch movies on Netflix and it works well for that. It's mostly why I wanted one to begin with. I just wouldn't use it for games much bc it doesn't work well for that.

I purchased this for my dad. They have an old PC that needs replaced, but my parents didn’t want a new one. This tablet allow them to check email and watch YouTube videos easier. The keyboard is perfect for them since they don’t like to type on the screen. It is on the heavy side with the keyboard attached, it is weighted so it does not tip over. The screen size is bigger that their old PC monitor. It’s been several weeks now and they are still using it daily. The first one I bought was DOA. It was exchanged promptly and the replacement seems fine. For the price you can’t go wrong.

I bought this tablet because I have a class/lab that required a tablet. I thought I would buy the cheapest tablet I could find. When I saw this one with a keyboard on sale for $120 at Best Buy, I pulled the trigger on their website. Shipping was fast.
A couple issues with this tablet: the first one I received had a defective keyboard and the tablet would not recognize it. I returned it to a Best Buy store the next day and exchanged it for the same unit. This one works great, and it's what I'm writing this review on right now. Another issue is there is no accelerometer or gyroscope. This isn't mentioned on the Best Buy website. So apps like Sky Map won't work. Also, there doesn't seem to be a camera "gallery" to easily view pictures. Perhaps there is one to download, but for now I'm viewing pictures in File Manager. It does have Google Photos, but it's not an app I usually use. A regular gallery would be nice.
None of these things are a deal breaker for me, so I can move on to the good stuff.
What I like: this thing is heavy. The back of the tablet is plastic, but with the keyboard attached it feels very sturdy. It doesn't feel nearly as cheap as the $120 sale price would lead you to believe. Also, the keyboard has more features and keys than expected, such a volume keys, display brightness keys, a search key, etc...
The camera works reasonably well, but any modern cell phone camera will be much better than the 5 MP camera this tablet has.
It also has bluetooth and GPS, which are nice bonuses.
Overall, I am very happy with this purchase, it's much nicer than I ever thought I could get for this price point. The display isn't crystal clear and the speakers don't sound great, so don't expect a $500 quality tablet for this kind of money. But if you just need something simple for email, web surfing, youtube videos, etc... this should work very well for you. I would absolutely recommend it to a friend and I would also purchase it again if needed.

Pick this up at a 50% off sale. Well worth it I use a Logitech BT mouse with it too. Battery life is good but I usually plug it in before bed so I haven’t tested how long it will last. The charger is a 3a charger so it charges quickly. Keep this in mind if you use a standard charger. A standard 2a will take several hours to charge. Took me a few to figure out it came with a 3a charger. KB is fine and has a key to turn off the touch pad as I hate those things. I have used it so much and am trying to replace my laptop with it as much as possible, when I go back to my laptop and tap the screen I wonder why nothing is happening. Laptop doesn’t have a touch screen. :-) I can't find a good program to root it yet. I am a geek and like the flexability rooting gives me. I know, void warranty, blah blah. I don't care about that. I got it for $80 so if I brick it I will fix it. Not hard to do.

My first tablet, wanted to get something reasonably priced. Works great for streaming sports. Good battery life, gets a little warm when on for an extended time.
