We purchased this after having a bad experience with one we bought elsewhere that had a terrible toxic smell that would not go away and got into the water bottles and on the cans. After we spent three months trying to make the smell go away, we exchanged for another one and that one also had the smell. We gave up and decided to try this one. This fridge is great and is much nicer than the one we had previously. First off, no bad smell!! It also cools much faster and keeps temperature very even from top to bottom, which the other one did not do (this one has a small fan that circulates the air and keeps the coil defrosted - a huge plus!!) It runs very quiet and looks great. No complaints on operation or appearance. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5; The interior width is just slightly too narrow to allow 6 cans across (maybe 1/2 inch-1 inch short at most). This is annoying since it is designed as a beverage cooler, why make it way too wide for 5 cans but not quite enough for 6? Theoretically you can get 6 cans across if you stagger them, but then that makes them difficult to remove. The problem is that the supports for the shelves stick out a bit from the sides. In the bottom section that has no shelf supports in the way you can get 6 cans across (or same if you lay the cans on their side on any shelf, but that greatly reduces the total it can hold). So they say it can hold 114 cans; I can't get anywhere close to that number and would love for someone at Insignia to explain how that is possible. Bottom section can hold 12, and each of the remaining three shelves could hold 24 at most (4 deep and 6 across) which is 84, but you also have to account for the fan on the top shelf, which will eliminate at least another 3, so 81 maybe at most. If you want nice rows so people can actually get the cans out without knocking others onto the floor, you can get 20 per shelf (-3 on the top shelf), plus 12 at the bottom, total of 69 at most. We ended up putting bottled water on the top shelf which does allow us to get 6 across and 4 deep, except the two middle rows are 3 deep because of the fan (22 total), and cans on the remaining two shelves and bottom, so overall it still works fine for us, but nowhere near the stated capacity. That part is disappointing, but fridge works so well we will live with this shortcoming, just seems like something that could have so easily been addressed with a little thought.

Top Shelf:  8 cans horizontal (4 to each side of the fan)

    Beautiful Beverage Cooler

We've been eyeballing this cooler for a while since our old mini (adult beverage) fridge seemed to be dying. We knew we wanted something nice to display all the craft beers behind out bar. While I absolutely love this cooler, there are a few negatives though that we've discovered that I would consider when buying. There are only 2 adjustable legs which in our old house makes it difficult to level. Our floors are very uneven in certain areas and we had to use a piece of foam to actually level this properly. It seems to create a bit of condensation on any cardboard you put inside of it. So unfortunately you need to remove all beverages even from the 6 pack cartons. The condensation doesn't seem to happen otherwise as there is no pooling of water or anything that I've seen yet. This will hold the 115 cans as it states but larger cans and bottles don't fit as well as I thought they would. As you can see from my picture, storage at the bottom is a little tricky. Otherwise, I love everything about this fridge. It's sharp looking and I've already received lots of compliments from guests at our house. The blue light that turns on is pretty sleek in my opinion and everything keeps perfectly to temp even when packed full. About the only other feature that would have been a total bonus for us would have been a locking mechanism to keep the kids out. :)

I bought this item as a Mother's Day gift and the moment I arrived, I knew I had a problem. The box was damaged pretty significantly and was most of the way opened at the top. I couldn't refuse delivery because it was left on my doorstep when I wasn't home. (Thanks FedEx) Upon removal from the box, I instantly noticed the crushed hinge and sharp metal shards sticking up on the right side. I inspected it closer and found the whole frame had been misaligned from whatever shock did this damage. I had taken pictures of the damaged box for this exact reason, too. Things happen and I'm a reasonable person so I contacted BB to figure out a plan to replace the broken item. I should say that I plugged it in and it seemed to kick on instantly. Within a few hours, the thermometer I put in there was at 34* and that was probably with a misaligned door. Best Buy sent out a replacement and I got it 2 days later. Guess what...? This one was damaged in the same place! There were sharp metal pieces sticking up from the mitered edges of the door and anything more than a gentle touch felt like it would slice you open quickly. Again, being reasonable, I contacted BB and this time I was told they wouldn't replace it... one try only. So now I have 2 paperweights in my basement that look terrible. Very disappointed in how Best Buy handled this and as an Elite cardholder and a Total Tech Support member, I expected more. Shame... shame... shame... shame... shame...

Does not chill beverages to set temperature

I bought this unit to keep beverages, a mix of water, soft drinks and beer cold. I followed the instructions for set up; let it sit for over 24 hours after postioning it and leveling it before turning it on and verified the door closed fully. It is free standing with lots of room around it. I wanted the beer cold, so initially set the temperature at 35 degrees Farenheit (F). After sitting for a week, the drinks did not seem as cold as I expected, so lowered the set temperature to 33 F. Again, did not seem as cold as I expected or wanted, so I measured the temperature. The refrigerator had been set at 33 degrees F for a couple weeks, and had been opened maybe 3-4 times during that period. I opened the unit to place the thermometer inside. After leaving the thermometer in the refrigerator for several hours, without it being opened during that time, it showed a temperature of 42 degrees F. It simply does not keep the contents (about 18 bottled beers, 12 soft drink cans and 14 7 oz plastic water bottles) chilled to the set temperature. As this is it's prime function I rated it a 2 as it does not do what I bought it for. It is quiet, looks to be put together well, is attractive, and very inexpensive.

I’ve had this on my list of man-cave upgrades for a long while and my wife finally let me take the plunge on cyber Monday for $199.00. The box arrived less than one day later and fridge was scratch and dent free. No set up required, just took out of the box and plugged in The digital temp adjustment is a great feature (one I wish they offered on the insignia kegerators). I dimed the temp to 40 as I drink a lot of stouts and porter that do not need to be ice cold. Everything I’ve pulled out has been perfect temp so no issues with cooling. The LED interior light is really nice and looks good shining off the beer while the door is closed. If you have a lot of bottles you may want to look at the larger model as i have to lay them down on their side to use all the shelves that come with the unit. I will note you can adjust the shelves to accommodate standing the bottles, but you will more than likely have to leave one of the shelves out, which adds up to a lot of lost storage! If you load it up with all cans they fit in great and you can get a lot in there! Overall I love this thing! Looks great next to my Insignia 2 tap Kegerator!

    Great Beer Fridge

I have had this fridge for a few months now and it has performed to my expectations. I saw other reviews about the noted capacity and how it wasn't even close. That part is true, but it still holds all the beer I need it to. It is mostly stocked with cans, with a few bottles. Cans fit perfectly with the factory installed shelves. The few bottles are on the top shelf on their side. Really the only place to put them that wouldn't limit the storage on the other shelves. Apparently beer is best kept cold at 50 to 55 degrees and that is where I started the thermostat at. It wasn't cold enough for my taste so I set it down to 40 degrees. The temperature holds at that point and has kept everything nice and cold. It does run occasionally and has some noise to it, but frankly it is kept in a spare room so I never hear it. The glass front is great for seeing what is inside, but the light also aids in the selection process. When friends come over, they know where the fridge is and they can go and take their pick of what is stocked. It is like an adult vending machine. Overall the fridge has met my expectations, and hope to have it for years to come.

Purchased this unit on April 18, 2019, to replace a 25-year-old compact refrigerator that was soooo noisy. It still kept things cold but when running it would nearly wake the dead. Plus it was just ugly. The new fridge is a bit larger than the old one. It also has a internal light that's a welcomed addition. But, what its best feature is, is how quiet it is while running. It also looks much better than the old one. The old one was white. Stood out like a sore thumb next to my bar. The black case and stainless steel front with the clear glass looks modern and fits the decor. The pricing was very good because I hit a sale while it was $100 off. Bottom line is no regrets and would purchase it again. Dave

THE GOOD: > Looks good. Size convenient. THE BAD: > This drinks fridge will NOT cool anything below 46 degrees F, even when set as low as it will go, which is 33 degrees, in a cool air-conditioned environment. > Temperature display only shows your preset temperature, not the actual temperature, which is useless. Set temperature only needs to be displayed when actually setting the temperature, so this is a silly shortcoming. > Hardware quality is not good. I needed to shift door from left opening to right opening and had a hard time. Instructions are not comprehensive and take a lot of things for granted that should be explained and illustrated. SUMMARY: In service for about a month now, and not really suitable for beer and sodas. OK as a white or red wine cooler. Overall I do not recommend since it does not perform as promised. Disappointing.

Picked this up and I am happy so far. This thing looks great and it feels solid. Adjusting the temperature was a bit of a pain as I supposed that you needed to "press" the arrow down and it was not very responsive. I was honestly going to "blast" this feature in my review when I discovered that if I lightly touched the arrow that it immediately responded. It would be nice to have something on setting the temperature outside of the manual (how many guys read the manual unless we have to?). Once I figured that out I was able to set the temp down to 36 and I will see how well this does for me. This has a glass door which is great for appearance but not for insulation but I can deal with the few extra dollars of electricity cost.

I was looking for a beverage cooler for the finished basement bar area that could keep beer, water, soda and other drinks cold. I had been searching the internet but was in the local Best Buy for another item and noticed the beverage cooler on sale. The price and reviews on the cooler were what got me. I’ve had the cooler now for over 30 days and I’m pleased with its performance, look and noise level. It’s kept the beer, water and other items cold which was one of my major concerns when looking for a beverage cooler. It’s very quiet and does not interfere with TV viewing. It’s size and look are appealing as it fits in nice with my newly finished family room bar area in the basement. I would recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this beverage cooler to have cold beverages available away from our main refrigerator. I wanted a glass door version, mainly for the aesthetics. I bounced between a few brands and decided to go with the Insignia version. I have not filled the cooler, so I am not sure of claimed capacity. It does get cold and with a temperature gauge seems to hold its temperature. I like that there is a fan to circulate the air unlike some mini fridges I have had in the past. It is deep enough to lay down full wine bottles if needed. It is very quiet as well. No louder than my standard fridge. The stainless is clean on the front, could be a little better built at the joints of the door frame, but given the price I cannot complain.

We love this machine. It sits in our living room. No more going to the garage to get sodas. Ha! We even keep our milk in it. It doubles as a night light in here. We keep the LED light on all the time. Doesn't bother us any. Never hear any noise out of it unless we pay close attention. Has digital temperature changer so we can pinpoint exactly how we want it. We keep it at 36. It's pretty enough to not be ugly in our living area. Can store stuff on top of it if you want. My kid keeps his ramen noodle packs on it. But you can put storage bins and stackable bins on it. Love it!

I have a humble “man cave” set up in my basement. This is great for it. It keeps my beer, white wine, water and some perishable snacks perfectly. It has great capacity, keeps everything cool, and has a light if I’m watching a movie or a game in the dark I don’t have to turn any lights on, just click it, get what I want and turn it off. One pitfall I have seen is that you can’t just try and push the door shut, if it hits too hard it will bounce slightly open. Found that out after getting beers quickly to leave the house, came back and it was open about an inch and water had built up on the bottom. My gf did the same thing on another occasion.

Loved this little cooler so much that we bought a 2nd one. Did not buy the extended warranty as it seems a simple item and inexpensive. After the manufacturers warranty expired by a few months...on of these has gone bad. Fluctuations in temp, make everything freeze and explode inside the fridge. Which shoots the door open and leaves a remarkable mess! As warranty had recently expired. I emptied it, turned it off for 48 hours and plugged it back in. Seemed to do the trick. Today (4 weeks later) I hear a large bang...and it'd happened again. Called manufacturer for help...got none.

Brought this home and followed instructions for start up. Keeps can cold. Haven’t actually checked if it’s keeping it at the set temperature though. Good enough for me. Like others, it seems silly not to have the interior just millimeters wider to accomodate 6 cans laying flat. Biggest complaint is that the middle back makes the cans so cold that it caused on to explode. This effectively reduces the ability to store any cans near this area for fear of this occurring. Overall I am happy with it given the price. I’ve freed up lots of space previously used by cans in my regular refrigerator. Looks good too

We've had this mini fridge for 3 weeks and it has exceeded our expectations! Really high quality and great looking. We like the flexibility of the adjustable shelves as we can store taller items (crowlers, kombucha bottles, the occasional gal of OJ) on the bottom and then cans and standard sized bottles on the shelves above, either upright or on their sides. Definitely recommend and will update this review if it stops working. Don't need it to store 100+ cans. We're very happy with a capacity of 75+ since we have a variety of different beverages of different sizes we like to have on hand.

Had this fridge for over a week and I get no where near the 33 degrees that is states it is supposed to get, The lowest it get is 42 degrees and that is the thermostat set at 33. When I first had it plugged in, i set the temp to 42 and waited a day and half empty. It got to 51 and thats all. Seems the temp control is about 10 degrees off. Ill return it and try another to see if I just got a bad one or this is normal.

I was looking for a beverage cooler for a while, I found wine coolers (that don't go low enough temp-wise for soda & beer) that looked nice with glass and chrome. Then I found this one (in-store) and have been happy since my purchase. It holds a lot, shelves are adjustable, very well-built, glass-front is a definite plus. I haven't used the LED lighting much, but it's nicely implemented. I wish there was to activate the light when the door opens, but at this price, I have no complaints. I'm sure you're wondering if it's quiet...yes. it is!!

I'm a craft beer snob who likes variety. I was looking for a fridge so I could stop taking over a section of the main fridge. I took one shelf out of this unit to be able to fit standard, longneck bottles, and I have ended up happy - I can fit probably around 45 regular bottles and an additional 12-14 cans (tall or short) in the fridge at the same time. That's plenty for me. No room for bombers unless the unit is reconfigured, but it's nice that it's flexible. Great unit - it's in my garage and has kept accurate temperature so far (set to 34) in the cooler winter weather.

I really like this fridge. It is 99% of what i was looking for in a drink fridge. My only three minor issues are noise, door, and shelf. When the fridge kicks on youll hear it. It isnt horrible by a long shot. The noise level is exactly ok. Not great, not bad. The rubber feet seem to slide a bit on my wood floor when the door is closed. Minor and ill probably fix it later but it is shuffling oh so slowly over time. This last one is just a nit pick. A half size shelf so 2L bottles fit on bottom but all the shelf isnt lost.
