We have had this trash can for several years now and I swear I've only changed the batteries three times. I had worried about having to replace the batteries often as that can get expensive but surprisingly the batteries last a long time. I love the convenience of the automatic lid. Sometimes we walk by too close to the trash can and it'll open. Other times we take top long to throw things away and it'll close vendor we want it to. But a press of the button fixes that. It looks nice and works great. I recommend this

Was able to get this when it was on sale so it was cheap for me. Works great, requires 2 D batteries don't know how long they'll last since i just pit them in last week. The sensor is pretty good. It doesn't open when i walk past it or anything, i just reach toward the lid and it opens so it does do what i want. Putting i the trash bags is also very simple. So far works great no issues so far.

The lid takes getting used to. As other reviews have posted you have to position your hand above it for a couple of seconds as opposed to waving it. It works great after learning that. If there was a way to change the sensitivity to make it open quicker, I’d give it 5 stars but the delay opening can be a little annoying if you have something dripping.

Good product; I got at very reasonable SALE price. Only three weeks into use although the product is very thing as described. Only suggestion to buyers think about where you are placing it as the lid sensor opens even if you walk by to close!

Nice and big and worked out of the box, though no batteries

Purchased on DoD, had been looking at stainless steel trash can for awhile. Price has hard to beat and had the motion lid. Which is very sensitive, everytime I walk past it the lid opens. Uses a normal size kitchen bag fine. If your looking for something to help keep your dogs out of the trash it helps. I would buy again

It's basically a steal. This trash can in perfection. We've had it for over 6 months and still haven't had to replace the batteries. It is very sensitive, so if you walk too close to it it's going to open. I wish it locked easier though. Like just by pressing the button rather than holding it down for 3-5 seconds.

I love it. Unpacking it and setting up were easy. It looks good, matches the other stainless steel in the kitchen. And it works well. Being able to throw things away with both hands full (or greasy) and without dancing with my foot looking for a pedal is a pleasure.

Absolutely love this can. It looks beautiful and very convenient. Only one draw back.. it’s not just sensitive to the waving of your hand. But sensitive to the body… every time I pass by it with no intent to use it. It opens. Other than that… I love it.

I bought it few days ago and i am very satisfied! Its big, deeper and wider and automatic very convenient. I loved it because its neat and no odorless.

A great purchase! I have not had any issues with it. Battery powered is a pain in the butt, but I would rather do that than have a cord sticking out. It does have a tendency to rust - so took off one star for that. Just make sure it dries completely if you wipe down the inside.

Purchased to replace an earlier model of a similar unit, this one is better looking as well as quieter and easier to operate. The previous one was housed in the garage, but this one is more conveniently located inside the house. We highly recommend it for those wanting an automatic trash can.

I was replacing my previous automatic trash can that I had for over 10 years. Love the wide, horizontal lid on this one! Seems like it has so much more available space, even though it is the same size, and I can leave the trash bags in the trash can for longer and to actually get full. Not to mention, this one was about a third of the price! I do wish it were available in a larger size, and the sensor is sometimes finicky (which is why I had to replace mine).

Packaged well did not get damaged during shipment. Good design sleek look, a little low on the quality end I imagine it dents easily, very thin but for a stainless steel trash can in this size with the price it was a steal.

Good looking, functions as it should, matches our stainless appliances. When it arrived, it had a small dent in the side. I considered trying to get it replaced, but didn't want to go through the hassle.

Nice looking and sleek for a trash can. I use white bags and fresh D batteries. I like the wash hands free open but the closing is lacking. I’m going to try a new brand of batteries and see how it goes.

Slick looking. Easy to set up. Insert battery place a trash bag inside two piece top . Opens with a wave of the hand or anything over sensor. Quiet closes automatically

I've had mine since June 2022. The convenience of a motion activated lid makes this by far one of the best items I've purchased over the years. The lid opens quickly and with very little motion. I'm on the same set of batteries since my initial purchase. I got it when it was on sale for $40. Plus I had some Best Buy rewards that lowered my actual out of pocket cost. The volume is just over 13 gallons. This allows you to fill the bag completely in between removal. The lid keeps odors in and the lids easy to clean.

GREAT QUALITY. GOOD PRICING. IT DOES TAKE SIZE D BATTERIES WHICH ARE PRICEY. WHEN YOU WALK BY IT IT OPENS AND CLOSES. BUT I HAVE FOUND WHEN I AM COOKING DINNER OR CLEANING THE KITCHEN, I PAUSE IT TO LEAVE IT OPEN TO DECREASE THE FREQUENCY OF OPENING AND CLOSING ALL THE TIME
