Build quality seem solid. It's heavy and smaller than I thought. Has a flip out plug to plug straight to the outlet or use 6ft. AC power cord and set on a desk. Got it on sale $49.99 so good value.

Terrible product!
I purchased this item 10 months ago and I basically have to throw it and other expensive cables in the garbage now. That’s what geek squad recommended because it could fry something else if I’d use any of the ports. I didn’t use this product often, it stayed in one spot and was well taken care of. One of the blue things got stuck in one of my JBL power cords that I blew have to throw away and replace!
I have total tech but this product isn’t covered. Of course! I’m Not happy at all
You can see in the photo the cord that was plugged in, the blue thing that was stuck in the orange cord and the missing blue thing to the right of the actual charger

This was a difficult charger to review. As they provide almost no information on it. And when it comes to chargers that is a big red flag for me. It is also not using the newest GaN technology (to my knowledge). Which is unfortunate. With that said it works well and I think it has more modern tech than I think it does. But I’m left guessing which is why it is a pass for me. As I think you can get a similar charger that is GaN and actually lists the specifications for around the same price. But this does have some unique features I’ve never seen before.
TESTING:
I wanted to test how well it worked with three devices plugged in. Maximum wattage in this scenario would be 100W (USB-C Port 1), 30W (USB-C Port 2), and 12W (USB-A Port 1) according to their documentation. If you did all four it would be 100W, 30W, 12W, and 12W (Max). Both the MacBook Air and iPad were plugged in with a 100W USB-C cord so no bottleneck there. Where the iPhone was plugged in with the traditional USB-A to Lightning cord. Keep in mind that none of these devices support 100W charging. I think iPhone maxes out at 20 watts, iPad 36 watts, and MacBook Air is 45 watts (where M2 is 67 watts). Gotta love how behind Apple is on fast charging. Basically, what I’m saying is we are FAR below the maximum this charger can provide (145 watts) (as I don’t have any devices that can pull 100W). I’m also not activating fast charging on my iPhone as this charger is only providing 12 watts via USB-A (requires 20 watts). My battery levels were also not full depleted so lower levels will show BETTER results as batteries slow down the charge at higher percentages.
4:22 pm
- iPhone: 82%
- iPad: 50%
- MacBook Air M1: 35%
5:03 pm
- iPhone: 97%
- iPad: 85%
- MacBook Air M1: 69%
5:35 pm
- iPhone: 100%
- iPad: 100%
- MacBook Air M1: 89%
At the end of the charging session the charger was mildly warm. My devices were fine. I got no warnings. No problems.
THINGS TO NOTE:
- Both USB-C Ports when used alone provide UP TO 140 watts. But if we are looking at the old PD standard they max out at 100 watts. The new standard goes up to 140 or 240 watts. I’m unsure if this is A. a PD charger at all as it isn’t listed but assume it is based on the different voltages that I’ll get to below. Along with it having USB-IF certification. However, they don’t show any certification badges ANYWHERE on the box or the charger.
- If using BOTH USB-C Ports provides 100W and 30W (max)
- Both USB-C + USB-A =100W, 30W, 12W (max)
- Both USB-A ports support up to 12W (max).
- Can STACK up to FOUR of these chargers TOGETHER for up to 560 watts and 16 ports. Which is awesome and a very unique feature.
- Can power charger in three different ways. 1) Folding blades, 2) power cord attachment, 3) Stacking chargers. Which is really cool giving this charger a lot of versatility.
- Supports ALL Apple devices. But doesn’t have official certification (that I can see).
- Can charge your laptop, tablet, watch, and phone at the same time. Or swap out for AirPods.
- DOES NOT come with any charging cables. Just the charger itself. (NEGATIVE)
- They do not mention Power Deliver (PD) anywhere. But assuming that they list multiple voltages and amps.
- Not GaN (NEGATIVE)
SPECS:
- Max USB output 145 watts. But the previous PD compliant allowed up to 100 watts to a single device at a time. But the newest standard (which I’m unsure if this supports is up to 140 watts).
- Input 100-240V~10A 50-60Hz
- AC Output 100-240V~7A Max
- Dual USB-C and Dual USB-A Ports
- ASSUMED PD Output but not labeled as such: 5V=3A – 15 watts, 9V=3A – 27 watts, 15V=3A – 45 watts, 20V=5A – 100 watts, 28V=5A – 140 watts.
- USB-A (Non QC? As again not labelled and only one setting): 5V=2.4A – 12 watts
- Multiple Ports:
- USB-C1 output 100w: 5V=3A, 9V=3A, 15V=2A, 20V=5A (PPS) 5-21V=5A
- USB-C2 output 30W: 5V=3A, 9V=3A, 15V=2A, 20V=1.5A
- USB-A1+USB-A2 output 15W: 5V=3A total (2.4A each)
Overall, if you’re buying an expensive charger, I’d go with a GaN and one that shows more official certification. As finding official information on this device was difficult and with the amount of wattage it can output it can damage a device if the correct safety measures aren’t in place. Which makes me not recommend it. The only reason why I used it is because I trust Insignia as a brand. As when it comes to chargers and batteries that can explode or catch fire, I don’t like wild cards. But with that said it worked well for my testing and maybe they will update their information to show that official certification that I missed. As when I was writing this review I didn’t have anything official that I could look at other than what came in the box and on the charger.

If you compare this Insignia 140W USB(-A) and USB-C adapter to that from several OEM vendors, it is certainly a bit larger and heavier. I also purchased the Insignia 140W USB-C-only version of this. Both adapters have a slight tendency to fall a bit out of a AC power socket, due to the weight. On the other hand, at 140 watts, you can charge two laptops (perhaps slightly slower than two dedicated adapters) or three tablets, or three-to-four phones, or some combination, based on the power demand (take a minute to do the arithmetic, so as not to overload the charger, adding the total wattage load of all devices to be charged).
I travel with this for work, and have both PC and Macs, some with USB-A, some with USB-C. This adapter is a superb emergency adapter, because I can charge anything. For example, I'll often leave the OEM adapter in a lab or classroom, but keep this one in the hotel room. When bringing devices back after each day, I always know I have an adapter that can charge any device(s).
Some might object to the slightly larger size and weight...it seems menial, but you'll notice it when comparing it to original vendors' chargers. However, since this one adapter can replace two and possibly more OEM chargers, it actually might make more sense to use something like this.
I'm quite happy with the purchase overall, and would purchase it again.

I'm not sure what I expected when I got this, but to be honest, this wasn't really it. I've owned some power delivery devices before and they have tended to be a bit more compact/lighter weight than this one, but lets get into it.
Insignia has released a rather beefy USB power delivery device. I'm somewhat confused by the size and cost of it, the limitations that it has, but it has a number of good things as well. When compared to other PD devices, this appears to have a similar total power, though an oddly different mix.
Port 1 alone of USB-C is 140 watts
Port 1 + Port 2 USB-C is 100 watts + 30 watts
Port 1 of USB-A output is 12 watts
Port 1 + Port 2 USB A output is combined 15 watts (so roughly 7.5watts each)
Combined total power capability is 145w. Which if you're following along at home, means that 1x USB-C + 1x USB-A equates to one or both of them not delivering full power. I do not have a way to measure power output on the individual ports, this information comes from the small print on the bottom of the device.
The good: Lots of power if you dont have multiple devices connected to it. The standard pronged plug passthrough outlet on the top is is a nice added benefit, meaning you're not giving up the outlet completely to use this. The plug in the back flips down to either hang from the wall or attach the extension that comes with it so you can place it on the floor or a desktop.
The bad: It's very heavy. Heavier than most laptop power supplies for laptops that would benefit from 140w total power. In addition, it doesn't come with any other cables, so assuming you need to use it for powering a laptop, you need to purchase a separate USB-C to USB-C cable for power delivery.
A benefit of this though is that if you travel a lot, even with its additional weight, it saves you from having to carry multiple chargers for laptop, phone, plus whatever else you intend to use.
I've tested this with a Macbook Pro and my Dell that I use for work and there's been no issues with power supplying to either. It is convenient to have the extension so I can place it on my desk. Unfortunately it just has hard plastic feet, so the unit slides when I try to connect a device to it.
All in all, it's somewhat of an odd mix of convenience and annoyance. I appreciate the extension, the high amount of power, and the 2 pronged standard plug passthrough. But the weight, strange power distribution and no rubber feet so it doesn't slide add up to a mixed bag of a device.
I would recommend it provided you understand what you are purchasing.

A lot of thought went into this product

I’ve been using this for a few days now and I’ve been pretty happy with it. Before COVID began, I traveled a lot and I hated carrying all of the cables for my devices and having to carry multiple charging bricks for them as well. This one charger replaces four that I would normally take.
It has two USB type A and two USB Type C inputs. The two USB type A charge at 12 watts while they two Type C charge at 140 watts. Of course the more items you plug in each input, the charging watts are reduced.
I normally travel with a MacBook Pro, 11” iPad Pro, iPhone and Apple Watch. My MacBook uses an 87 watt charger, my iPad Pro uses 20 watts and iPhone can be fast charged using 20 watts and the watch can use 12. So basically I can charge my iPad, iPhone and watch at the same time or my MacBook, iPhone and watch.
Where this thing really shines is its ability to stack more chargers (up to 4) for a maximum of 560 watts of charging. Can’t imagine ever needing that much power but there might be some that could.
The other thing that I appreciate is that I can plug it in a wall outlet directly or use the six foot cord to give me more reach if I’m using a desk or working on the bed. Simple things that didn’t get forgotten in the product design. I was curious how sturdy the charger would be when plugged into a wall outlet and I was happy to find out that whether you plug it in with the ports facing up or down, it stayed plugged in with no movement.
If I had one complaint and it’s minor is that the printing on the charger could be a little darker. Like I said, that’s minor because they USB-C inputs are both the higher wattage and the Type A are lower.
I’m very happy with this charger and it pretty much goes with me everywhere I go.

This thing is super nice. It has many ports, can charge things very fast, and can be stackable if you need extra ports. I also like the 6-foot extension cord, even though it still feels pretty sturdy in the outlet. I have had no problems and take good care of it so it should last me a long time. I got this on sale for like 50 dollars so super glad about that. It is a bit pricey normally, but if you can get it on sale, it is a steal.

I have had this for a couple years, and it is starting to develop problems, the extension cable that it comes with is working intermittently. If I use it without the cable, it works fine still. That is disappointing, but I have been happy with the product. My only initial complaint with it, is because they made it overseas and Insignia is such a terrible QC and design company, nobody noticed that the 120V socket on top is not polarized, so there are many many things that can not be plugged in there.

This charger is fantastic, especially when it goes on sale for $59.99. While its a bit bigger than the Apple 140W charger, the extra ports and pass-thru plug, along with the included long cord make this charger vastly more flexible. Add in the fact that it accepts a world voltage (100-240v 50/60Hz) means you need one less plug adapter when traveling (simply plug another world-voltage capable gadget into the pass-thru plug).
