The unit could be used as a refrigerator instead of a freezer, but we have not tried it that way. We are pleased with our purchase.

Replaced it with this one when it stopped working and love that adjustable shelf’s along with the drawers which it make it so much easier to organize and find what I have stored in it.

It also has a light to show you whether it's on or not. Furthermore it can deal with the higher temperatures of a garage so it's convenient if you don't have room for it in a climate-controlled space.
