Unit works great. Arrived with broken bottom drawer. Called bestbuy and they credited me the cost to replace the drawer. Great customer service just wish it did not arrive with broken parts.

I purchased many items from best buy. This unit is trash. It wwnt bad after 14 months which was 2 months out of warranty. Any other manufacturer gives at least 5 years of additional warranty. This is a best buy product and they did not offer anything to help the cost of fixing this unit. In short, DO NOT BUY!!!

Awful so you’re self a favor and don’t buy this. We went on Vacation on Friday, and some point between Friday and Monday it stopped working? No we didn’t lose power, ruined 500lbs of beef.

We were really excited about this garage ready fridge when we first saw the price, but you get what you pay for. Our main fridge fluctuates +/-2 degrees, but this fridge fluctuations +6 degrees before it starts cooling back down to temperature. Even at a 35 degree setting it still pushes temperatures above 40 degrees, which violates food safety recommendations. We will be returning. In the last 24 hours the fridge has fluctuated above 40 degrees 9 times. We already replaced it once thinking we got a lemon, but this replacement is the same.

For the first 3 months my temp Sensor Push temp sensor shows it held below 0°. Six months after it was averaging 3°. Six months after it was averaging 6°. Currently averaging 7°. I have owned it for 16 months. Its ability to hold a temp is clearly degrading steadily. I anticipate having to use the extended Geek Squad warranty before long.

This freezer/fridge is supposed to be able to go down to 35 degrees F In fridge mode. It worked for about a week and since has jumped over 40. Im using in a temperature controlled basement so it should have no problem. Luckily, the dough I had proofing in it was somewhat saveable. I couldve lost hundreds of dollars worth of product if i didnt catch it in time. Maybe I got a bad unit, because theres no way it should run at 40-41 degrees when set to 35.

Poor design for door close switch

Had it delivered yesterday -- almost immediately after the delivery crew left I noticed that the door close switch was bent. It looks like they bent it during delivery / when installing the door. Seems like a poor design that there's so little tolerance for the switch to close. Now because a $6 part is broken I'm told by service that this is a "return only" item and they won't even come out to look at it. Service did nothing to set up the appointment to swap it with a new freezer -- I now need to call and do that myself. Amazing that I had to wait 24 hours for a repair appointment to be told that -- you'd think that if this was flagged as something that can't / won't be repaired that customer service would have been able to tell that before they scheduled the "appointment".

Bought as a freezer. It NEVER cooled. Once the freezer was installed I loaded all the food from my chest freezer. I then went to the place we are moving from to finish getting it ready for market. I was gone 3 days. When I returned, ALL the food had thawed. I had to throw away a lot of meat, and vegetables. On top of that my new place has brand new carpeting. The freezer put a nasty spot on the carpet that I cannot get out. See photo. I returned the freezer, and did receive a credit for the freezer, nothing was done about the lost food! On top of all this, the gentleman picking up the freezer said, that a lot of these Insignia freezers have issues and are returned.

Good when new. 8 months in, the plastic door handle hinge came loose. For the suction the freezer has, door needs a sturdier handle. Door handle is not sturdy, therefore even if you have a functioning freezer, what use is it if you can’t open the door. Warranty does not cover door handle. So… docking stars for poor quality design and product.

Failed Door Gasket after only 18 months

We bought this freezer in Dec 2019. Last week frost (snow) started building up. It is most likely a failed door gasket as I can move a piece of paper along the top when the door is closed. Service would cost $100 trip charge, $100 labor, plus the cost of any parts. It may be cost effective to just buy a brand new Non-Insignia freezer.

I bought this so I can stock up on food so I don’t have to shop as often. It’s in my unheated enclosed porch. The New England cold hasn’t affected its performance. The interior is spacious, and in my opinion, is safer for me than a chest freezer since I’m short. It also can be converted to a refrigerator in case your needs change. I wasn’t familiar with this brand, but this is a quality item at a great price. I would recommend it.

My last upright freezer was not that old, but it died on me all of a sudden, so I had to buy a new one. I got the Insignia 17 Cu Ft garage ready convertible and I have been in love with it since day one. It is super user friendly and I love that the display is on the outside on the front door, as opposed to my having to open up the freezer to see what the temp was, etc. It also is smaller overall on the outside, but as big on the inside as my old freezer. This one is a winner in my books.
