This was our 2 nd new fridge in 6 months. Apparently, and according to the Pacific Sales manager at the WLA store, if you LAY YOUR FRIDGE DOWN TO TRAVEL TO YOUR HOME YOU SHOULD NEVER PLUG IT IN RIGHT AWAY ! Depending on the size of the fridge & distance you travel, you should estimate not plugging it in for at least 4 to 12 hours. Why ? He said that the coolant system in all fridges acts up if you don't stand it upright & let the coolant settle in the system before it starts to flush through the components. He suggested & was correct in saying that after about 6 months the fridge will slowly start to not work correctly. He was so right because we didnt know or follow this advice for the fridge we returned then bought this one & after 6 months it sounded like a freight train was dragging huge chalk across a gigantic chalkboard unless you left the fridge door open. Plus all of our food was warm most of the time so its function was non existent. So if you lay it down to travel don't jump the gun or you'll be sorry you did later. As far as this fridge - it was really big but opening the doors helped jimmy it thru our doorway. Its the least expensive one they offer so you know its fine.

    Decent Budget/Extra Fridge

I wouldn't want this as my primary refrigerator, but it's great for a secondary. We tried this in the garage, but it stops working the fridge/freezer when the temperature hits 30 degrees or below. This will not end well for your freezer contents, as they won't get cold enough. We moved it to the basement and working fine. The shelves are low-end wire shelves that buckle a little bit when a moderate amount of weight, but no issues with any of them falling off. Just be careful. Oh, the door shelves are great. Lots of room in them and perfect for some of the heavier stuff. The door hinge was a decently time-consuming process; nothing of concern to accomplish, but be prepared for an hour or more of your time and little tiny incremental turns on some of the screws.

I needed a basic secondary refrigerator after my Kenmore bit the dust after only 5 years - ended up throwing out all the food. Even more importantly, I needed it immediately. BestBuy delivered this in about a week, as promised - almost all other vendors/refrigerators had far longer lead times. This is a basic, no-frills refrigerator, metal shelves, decent layout and controls, no light in freezer - all as described. Roomy enough to stock 2-3 people's worth of food for several days. I put a thermometer in each compartment, and the temperature stays true - 0 in freezer, 40 in fridge as set. Quiet operation. Doors can be configured to open on either left or right. Be sure that both doors are closed after accessing, closing the freezer door sometimes pops open the fridge door. Magnet could be a bit stronger - minor issue. I did not opt for the ice maker, which is a frequent repair item. I'd give it a 5th star if there was a glass-shelves option, as some items do not sit well on the steel slats. Not a big deal, since air flow would be lessened. The delivery service was excellent - even though they had 17(!) more refrigerators to install that day, they did not rush. Taking care to not nick the door/walls, they placed it exactly where I asked, leveled it properly, presented the basic setup and instructions, and answered all questions. They hauled away the old refrigerator. and all packing materials. No nicks/scratches/dents on the fridge, either. I've been a fan of BestBuy for decades - their prices, pictures, technical specifications, customer support, adherence to delivery dates, and customer reviews are top-notch. Having videos/pictures is especially important now, not risking browsing stores. No hidden fees, no surprises. Very happy with BB and a good fridge.

I purchased this to replace a garage fridge that no longer worked. I think it is a good value for the money. It has been very hot and the garage is not insulated. Despite that the fridge has maintained pretty steady temps in both the fridge and freezer section. I have a sensor in each area so I can monitor the temps. My only complaint and my reason for not giving 5 stars is the seal of both the fridge and freezer doors. The seal is not great and you really have to be careful when opening the fridge as the freezer door might open. Also it is a good habit to make sure the doors are shut, and this might just take a few seconds of extra effort. I have had two occasions where I did not close the door properly and the seal did not seal. I think if the seal was better or there was a better way to close the doors this would be a perfect unit for the price.

Using as a secondary fridge. Having this has opened up a lot of space in our main fridge. Excellent value for the money. Looks great. They delivered and installed it without issue. Have owned it for over a year now and has been working with no problems. Used mainly as a beverage fridge and the extra freezer space has been nice. Highly recommend for a secondary/basement fridge.

Very pleased with this Insignia 18.1 cu. ft. refrigerator/freezer. For the size and the price (it was on sale), it was a great bargain. Quiet running; good use is made of the space with its' shelving features. Easy to maneuver. As soon as I saw it I knew it was the right one for us.

Needed a fridge for my garage and this one popped up on sale. Good size and great value! The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that it has coated wire shelves and my beer bottles tip over on them. If I find some plexiglass lying around, ill put them on the shelves.

I bought this for a garage refrigerator/freezer. This is a pretty nice old school freezer on top fridge, and it works great. Seems like a pretty nice value to me. No ice maker, no water, no bells and whistles, just straight refrigeration. My only issue is I don't like the rails for shelves, cans fall down. I am sure they have an upgrade if you want it after purchase. But honestly, this is really nice and works really great.

Pretty happy with this fridge. It's spacious and a pretty black color. The only thing I kind of don't like. It has metal shelves, rather than solid plastic and there is no meat/cheese tray. Other than those two insignificant issues, for the price, we're pretty happy with it!

Overall the refrigerator is exactly as described and works as it should very roomy. It does get a little noisy at times almost sounds like a weed eater being used from a far distance, glad it’s a garage fridge. It also took about 2 weeks for delivery and when they took off the protective outer layer of cardboard it had a dent in the front about 5” long. Best Buy did make it up to me and took $100.00 off the purchase price and gave me an additional $25.00 gift certificate for the delay in shipping. Overall it does what I bought it to do and happy Best Buy took care of all the problems in a more than reasonable way, would recommend the store to all and will be buying from them again in the near future.

Pros: 1. Inexpensive, great price for a full sized refridgerator 2. It looks nice, doesn't look cheap although it's not expensive 3. Plenty of room inside If you are looking for a regular, top freezer refridgerator at a fair price, this is a great choice Cons: None really, works well, does it's job, we've used it a little over a year without any issues.

Excellent fridge. Got it for the garage as a secondary fridge - which has turned into my main personal fridge for work area. If you're not after an ice maker or anything fancy like that, it works very well with good internal size in both the freezer and fridge area. I've had it some months and runs great still. I took off both doors for the sake of getting it in here and it wasn't difficult doing it alone. Side note: The movers got it into one area then I took the doors off to move it into the garage - not that the service is part of this review - but explaining in case anyone was wondering why the movers didn't do this for me. I knew squeezing it through the small doorway would put some scratches on it and I didn't want them taking flack for it since they have to take pictures showing it was delivered. They were swell guys and confirmed twice that I was okay moving it alone.

Like others, our 20+ year old fridge died and we got this as a quick solution. Ordered on Sunday evening and it was delivered on Wednesday with no issues. We've had it for a few weeks and we're really happy with it. It is a bit louder than our previous fridge and it's very basic, but it works wonderfully and is roomier than I imagined. It will be a good basement/garage fridge once we find a "real" replacement. Thanks to this fridge we don't have to rush on that.

Just bought this refrigerator and I have no real complaint. It works great, plenty of room, and the price was perfect. I wish the shelves were solid and not wire mesh but that's not that big of a deal. If you need a good fridge and dont want to spend 1000 dollars, you cant go wrong with this one

Had this fridge for about a month and a half. I like this fridge a lot. There are pros and cons to the shelves as they are metal grates except for the bottom glass shelf. Also, I wish this had a cheese drawer. It can easily get disorganized but I used plastic rectangular baskets to help organize small items. Also, the freezer doesn’t come with an ice bucket. The fridge/freezer is very deep so things can easily get lost into the unknown. Good value for a good fridge/freezer. Very basic so I don’t recommend if you want something more. But for us, this one is great.

We needed a simple and plain, but durable and reliable fridge/freezer for our garage. We live in Hawaii where it is warm and humid. This freezer is in the garage, right outside the back kitchen door. We use it to store pantry items . . . spices, flour, sugar, dried pastas, rice, beans, nuts, cereals, crackers etc . . . Basically, we store anything in here that typically does not need refrigeration, but that would get stale, buggy or lose freshness. We do not need this to be a pretty stainless steel unit. It just needed to be reliable and have lots of easy access shelf/drawer space. This fits the bill perfectly. I cannot yet speak to durability, as we just purchased it a month ago, but I do love how much it holds. When I cook, I just step out my back door and all my spices fit nicely on the door shelves. Easy to see and reach things too.

It fits perfectly where I placed it and it keeps the contents cold as it is supposed to. The black color matches my other kitchen utensils. Slight sound when evaporator kicks on.
