Ample & Agile Fridge For Small Spaces

This fridge fits nicely into it's designated space in my galley-style kitchen, which was quite a challenge to solve on my shopping search. Smaller fridges were available, but you would sacrifice a lot of storage space and capacity, so this refrigerator was an excellent option. I especially like it not having handles mounted on the doors, so when walking past it, you aren't constantly bumping into them, or making a duck move to avoid a collision. There are plenty of storage bins, shelving, good lighting, and it runs very quiet. I even opted for the ice-maker, which has worked out very well. The doors are a duller stainless steel color, but the cabinet was black, which was another big thing for me in order to more closely match my ubatuba colored countertops. The Geek Squad delivery experience was excellent, and so far, the fridge is performing great. I was a little concerned about the brand not being more well-known national appliance brand, but I can't really complain so far. I believe Best Buy backs up their products well. A good choice at a good price and it serves my needs perfectly!

We rent our home and 5 years ago, the original refrigerator stopped working entirely, so the rental company took what they could get for immediate delivery (a Frigidaire 18.2 cu. ft. top-freezer model) that would fit into the cutout space. There were problems with it from the beginning. It leaked, which a service call repaired for a while until it started leaking again. We put a dish on the top shelf to catch the water and lived with it, but in the beginning of this year, it became very noisy and was getting much worse to the point that my husband had to wear noise-reducing earmuffs to even be in that part of the house. We did our research and chose this model because people said it ran quietly and everything seemed to be the way we wanted it to be. The rental agency let us have our choice (it was the same price to replace the Frigidaire with a similar model), and we have been absolutely DELIGHTED with this one. We didn't know how bad the Frigidaire had been in terms of temperature control until we saw how tightly this Insignia one managed that. It keeps the cold just the way we want it to be, in both the freezer and refrigerator compartments. It looks BEAUTIFUL in the kitchen, matches the stainless steel stove, and the doors have a very good seal. The freezer door has a built-in detente, so you have to push the door shut intentionally, which I find helps to make sure it isn't only partially shut, once you get used to doing that. Most of all, the compressor is very QUIET. There is a sort of moaning sound that comes when the compressor starts running the coolant through the tubes and it always makes me laugh because it sounds like we have a cow in our kitchen. It's not very loud and I only hear it if I am close to the refrigerator, but while other people find it annoying, I find it funny and friendly, like the "outside" came indoors into our "inside." It goes away fairly quickly and the user's manual says it's normal for the newer type of compressors to do that. The compressor itself is quiet whenever it runs. There was only one thing we had to do to adapt our food storage habits to this interior. The Frigidaire had a "deli drawer" underneath the top shelf that was useful for storing fresh tomatoes, so we bought a couple of food storage bins that fit in that same location and we were good to go. Because of Covid-19, we shop less often and buy more when we do shop, and this refrigerator holds enough for us to be able to shop only once every two weeks in the summer, when we have so much fresh produce on hand. Those boxed salads take up a lot of space! There was only one minor glitch with the delivery. Everything went as was planned until they tried to slide the refrigerator into the cutout. There had been a 1-inch error on the height listed on the Best Buy site and teh refrigerator was 1/8-inch too high to fit, so the rental agency sent out a workman to raise the cabinet by a half-inch and then everything worked the way it should. We were very pleased with the delivery process overall. The delivery team was in good communication with us before delivery, came on time, wore masks and gloves, and disinfected everything before they left. We could not have done pickup and installation ourselves and it was good to see that old clunker get hauled away without our having to struggle with that ourselves. All in all, we are very happy with this refrigerator and are grateful for those reviews that enabled us to choose it. it's quality through and through.

When my elderly parents' very old extra laundry room fridge broke down after almost 50 years, I was happy to find a new one for them that wasn't such an electricity hog. I actually thought this fridge was smaller than it is because the energy rating was comparable to the smaller ones I was looking at. I was particularly looking for door bins in the freezer that do not have a gap that blue ice containers could fall through, and also for glass shelves instead of wire in the fridge section. This fridge had it all at the best price by far of any I researched--another reason I didn't expect it to be so large! So far so good; it is working as expected. The cord is shorter than it should be, but that seems to be universal nowadays. And I should have measured my door opening. The excellent delivery crew had to take the door off the hinges and unbox the fridge to get it in the house!

I've had this for two weeks and it keeps my food cold. There isn't a light in the freezer and at times it makes a loud monster noise. Stainless steel looks sleek and the price is less expensive than others. It performs excellent and my family likes it.

It has been a month now since I bought this ref and I’m satisfied so far. Huge space and not too noisy. I have read some comments that this ref is too noisy. Well, not in my case I guess. It is a great ref for an affordable price. Hope it will last long.

I've had this fridge for about a month now. Not much to complain about with this deal. It has one of the best energy costs per year ($43) for an 18 cu. ft fridge! Seriously, it's outstanding! I do wish it had a deli tray, but I can survive without that...I just repurposed one of the vegetable bins lol One downside is that I don't think you can move the door trays around. So fair warning if you're thinking about trying to do that. I just short of broke mine trying to get it off to rearrange the door trays. I decided they were better off where they were. However, if anyone figures out how to take them off please let me know :) I live in an apartment and this fridge fits perfectly in its little nook and has waaaaay more space inside than I need. :) The inside is pretty open so if you wanted to get this as a garage fridge that would work well. It did take a bit of time for it to get completely cold. It doesn't feel as cold as my old fridge (which was an energy vampire), but I don't really have any complaints about the temperature. It keeps all my food, freezer and fridge, as cold as they need to be. :)

Attractive 30" wide refrigerator with a place to grab to open so you don't get fingerprints on the outside. The inside is roomy. The only surprise was the clear plastic drawers and door bins which looked like they might crack easily but they no longer bother me. It's pretty quiet except for very occasional soft animal like sounds that are not annoying but kinda cute. Because of this we, like another reviewer, have also given the fridge a name - Bruno. Overall, pleased with appearance and price.

Had refrigerator for about 6 weeks and I like it very much. Looks good, keeps food cold, and seems to be using less electricity than the one it replaced. The lighting could be better, especially for the lower shelves. It does make some noise, especially during defrost cycle, but it is much quieter than the unit it replaced. This replaced a unit with the same amount of overall cubic space. The freezer compartment seems to be a little smaller, and refrigerator a little larger than the old one. Materials seem to be a little lightweight. Time will tell how it holds up over time.

I concur with other reviews that it does make a noise. The bedrooms in my house are on a second floor, and the couch to watch tv about 18 feet from the fridge. I don't have issues when I am in either spot to feel annoyed by it but if you're in a silent kitchen, you'll hear it. The one thing I am knocking a star off is I bought this in January 2020. By June 2020, the bottom shelf on the freezer door started to have frost on the bottom of it. The door is fully shut but still produces frost. I end up chunking off ice once a week now with a knife, and if its melts while the freezer is open for a minute, water spills out. So that is annoying!

Great modern looking refrigerator. Doors don't close automatically, I must make sure the door is closed. My advise is to not request the doors to open different from the way assembled in the factory (switch hinges) Once the service tech's came and switched hinges the freezer door was not as symmetrical as it was originally, would have driven me crazy. I will say Best Buy has great customer service. Quiet refrigerator. Lastly, it does not have a pull out door for deli meats and cheeses, bummer. LED interior and the glass shelves are nice.

Great fridge. It looks nice and there's plenty of space inside considering it's a compact fridge compared to a full size. My only complaint is that there is coil whine, or some other noise that comes from the fridge. It sounds like an old man wheezing. It drove me nuts when I first got it because I couldn't figure out where the noise was coming from. Now that I know it is the fridge/freezer, I mostly subconsciously ignore it unless it's really quiet in the office and then I can't stop hearing it.
