The sensor opens when I don’t need it to (i.e. walking by), and doesn’t open when I need it to (i.e. wet hands full of scraps). It also goes through batteries quickly bc of all the unnecessary opening and closing. I wanted this for the stainless steel aesthetic to match my kitchen, which it does very well and I love the spacious 2-in-1 combo, but the sensor not working makes the price & value not worth it.

Large 18 gallon stainless steel trash can with the capacity to contain recyclables and garbage. It requires 3 D size batteries that’s sold separately. I use the on/off switch because the lid will rise automatically and the kids treat it like a toy! I would recommend this product.

I like it makes life easier. My only complaint is that it doesn't have a power supply to recharge the battery. It's basically sixty bucks(Pale Blue) more for some good lithium batteries to make this work well. But other than it recognizes swipes, and has a separator for both sides. We'll see how long it lasts.

I watched this go on sale every month for a couple years wondering if could just use one large trash bag instead of two small ones, the way it is only promoted. Finally took the plunge and YES! Very easily, with the use of a very small screwdriver. Step 1 , take off lid. 2, remove the two liner rings, that simply lift off, and discard. 3, remove the two small screws that hold the middle divider in place. Then slide out middle divider and discard all removed pieces. Conversion done. I use 21 gallon bags I purchased on Ąmązøn, 45 bags for $ 11.44 very good quality. Also bags from your local store that fit trash compactors work well but cost twice as much. Love our new trash can!

I purchased this on sale and it was the best purchase to-date! The can uses 3 “D”batteries. I’ve been using mine for 3 weeks with no issues. It’s nice not having to touch the lid when my hands are full. I had guests over for Christmas and they loved the ease and convenience of it. I would recommend placing the trash can away from an area with a lot of traffic as the lid will open if you get too close to the sensor. The separate trash bins are great. I no longer have to take up a lot of space for recycle items.

We absolutely love this two bin recycle/trashcan! For years we had a white plastic one that we’d hide in our pantry because it just looked ugly out in the open. This tin one didn’t fit in there but we found that this one wasn’t bad looking. It actually adds a little flair to the kitchen and it’s so much easier to get to it being outside of the pantry. Bought it on “Deal of the Day” so it made it even more worth it! Grab one! You won’t be disappointed!!

We have really enjoyed the Insignia 18 Gal. Automatic Trash Can with Recycle and Waste Compartments. We are able to use our tall garbage can bags on each side for easy disposal and it’s use has given us more room in our kitchen. We no longer have a separate recycle bin. It is also stainless steel which is easier to keep clean than our previous trash can.

Had the single version of this and liked it, but needed a recycle can as well. Initially thought of just buying a second one, but this popped up on daily deal so I ordered it instead. First one came damaged so I took it to the local store and exchanged it. One thing I realized by adding a recycle is that since there is no individual cans inside this receptacle, the bags free float inside. Wow this is not a problem for trash as you always pull the trash bag out and throw it away, you cannot throw trash bags in the recycle so then you were taking out a trash bag to dump it into your recycle bin to then reinstall the trash bag which is kind of awkward because the trash bags are not made to fit this weird triangle type shape that the can is. Cool that you can change which side is which by moving the magnetic signs which is something that is not mentioned in the description of the can. Overall my wife likes it because we don't have two trash cans like I originally was going to do and I have to say that the lid on this one responds a lot quicker going up and very slowly shuts so it's almost silent on the way down.

It’s a good idea to have a 2 section garbage disposal it makes sorting recycle and the regular trash very easy, good quality and easy to use.

I actually just use this for my recycling as i already have a different automatic trash can. This one is nice because it is divided so i can put cans/bottles and tin/cardboard separately. It looks nice next to my other can as well that i put the magnetic trash label on. Each side is a bit smaller than i thought so if you fill up trash fast it may not be for you. Only downside is the lid sticks out a bit in the back so it will stick out a bit from the wall.

Perfect size for the kitchen and automatically opens with a sensor. One of the better wastebaskets I have purchased.

Super excited for this trash bin. It’s super wide but looks amazing. So far so good regarding the auto opening. They only issue is that u need 4 D batteries but it’s ok. I got some at the Dollar store. Hope they last. Great trash bin. Looks fresh

We like having the trash and recycling in one container.

Works as expected, full bags are a bit challenging to pull out but not too bad! Keeps things nice and organized! Great can for the price!

Was wanting to recycle more and this gives me the space to do so. I ended up using both sides for recycling and really like it. If you recycle I’d recommend it.

Works great. I am using in my garage for keeping my garage neat. Nice just waving refuse above and the lid opens. Easy to seperate garbage from recylables

I love the trashcan for the $50 that I paid for it. I had one issue which is that usually kitchen trash bags are 13 gallons and the capacity on the trash side is 9 gallons. I didnt have issues with the batteries dying. I have had it 3 weeks and still the same batteries. With 2 kids they are constantly messing with it and it isnt dead yet. I did try to move the divider but in the spot where it look like it could it did not have the two indentions that it has on the middle slot and I would have to drill 2 holes for the screws. I decided to leave it how it is.

Got on sale for a decent price. Good size waste bins. The only bummer is the auto open can be inconsistent. If your hands are wet, can make it tricky to open the manual handle. Still not a deal breaker. My kids like to make it open up and seems to make life a bit easier for them.
