It works perfectly for the Xbox game (Forza Horizon 4) I've been playing. Suddenly I can hear more highs and bass sounds from the cars and music. Very pleased!

Couldn't figure out why the remote already had batteries in it but then i discovered that they were 7/11 batteries and I'd been sold a returned item that hadn't been inspected. Other than having to turn it on and off manually, it's an okay soundbar for 40 bucks. Don't pay full price.

This is a great speaker! Got 2 of them on sale, so glad I did. Space saver not bulky and easy to set up. Need a speaker for a small room? Get this one instead of spending more money. Sounds great, nice bass for the price.

Title: Improve your TV’s audio experience!
|

Bottom line: If you need to give your TV’s audio a boost and space is an issue, the Insignia 2.0-Channel Mini Soundbar is for you.
Pros: compact size, easy to use, decent sound for its size and price
Cons: no HDMI input, does not include optical audio cable, always-on status light, button placement
Review: The Insignia 2.0-Channel Mini Soundbar is the perfect size to boost your audio experience if space is an issue. At 2.4” high and 15.8” wide, you’ll have no problem placing this under a small TV (it fits perfectly under my 24” monitor). Setup is pretty straightforward. The soundbar has two physical inputs: RCA and optical, although inside the box you’ll only find a RCA cable (along with a 3.5mm RCA adapter). Connect the cables, plug it in, and you should be hearing audio in a matter of minutes.
Switching inputs is easy using either a button on the soundbar or the remote. A status light on the center of the bar indicates which input is currently selected (e.g., green for RCA, pink for optical, blue for Bluetooth, the latter which is easy to pair). The remote also allows you to select from three listening modes: standard, theatre, and news, the latter which boosts dialogue and voices.
I’ve owned several home theatre systems including a couple of mid to high-end 2.1 soundbar systems, and the mini soundbar has surprisingly good audio for its size and price. There’s decent separation of the 2 channels at an appropriate listening distance, and it does a pretty good job filling a small room with sound (definitely use theatre mode over standard). Keep in mind, though, that this soundbar can’t - and isn’t designed - to replace a bigger system. Highs and lows, especially when listening to music, don’t come across very well, so you end up with that muddled midrange listening experience common on budget systems. Still, it’s a huge improvement over built-in TV speakers.
Unfortunately, since it’s a budget soundbar, there is no HDMI ARC, so you’ll have to use the included RCA cables or, preferably, pick up a digital optical cable, although the fact that one isn’t included is somewhat frustrating. Last, I have two issues with the design. First, which is one of my pet peeves with soundbars, is the always-on status light. I find a big glowing dot on a soundbar to be distracting in a darkened room, and there’s no way to dim or turn off the light on this unit. Second, the onboard buttons are on the right side of the soundbar, which makes them less useful, since I’m using the bar on a desk.

The speakers on my tv aren’t the best as it’s a 9yo tv so I wanted a budged sound bar. I paid 53 bucks for it so I wasn’t expecting a lot but it looks and feels like it’s at least 200$ which really surprises me. The bass is kind of nonexistent like I expected but the quality is really good! I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a small cheap tv that needs sound it’s the perfect size for my little setup i have

We bought this soundbar for our Insignia TV in our bedroom. We seemed to have a problem understanding some dialog, particularly female high pitched voices. I fought with myself about buying a soundbar because I do not feel it should be necessary to make this additional purchase. But, it is. We purchased the optical cable at an additional expense as it is not included. We did not want to deal with a 3rd remote (that comes with the soundbar). We were told our Insignia TV remote would suffice. It does turn the volume up or down and mute it, however, it does NOT turn the soundbar on, We get up to do this rather than use the additional remote. We use the Comcast remote to change channels and the Roku remote as we need it. Enough remotes! The sound is significantly better. The soundbar is a good size and was reasonably priced. All in all it was a good purchase. Don't forget to go into your TV setting to turn the TV speakers off.

I bought this soundbar because I needed one that is under 25" wide and has no subwoofer (both stipulations due to space constraints). This little soundbar works perfect and setup took under 5 minutes.
The sound quality and especially voice clarity is drastically improved over the TV speakers I was using. Naturally w/o a separate subwoofer this unit will not knock your socks off playing music or movies, but it adds enough clarity to make dialogue much easier to understand and enough depth so music and movies are much more enjoyable. It has plenty of outputs + bluetooth but an RCA-in or aux-in would be nice. For the price it's perfect and the form factor was just what I needed.
My biggest complaint is that it has an "always on" light behind the grill. It's red when off, green when on and flashes when volume is adjusted or muted. I wish it could be turned off or would turn itself off after a few minutes because it can be a bit distracting when watching movies.
Also, the remote has all the functions you could need for a simple speaker like this, but the rubber buttons can sometimes get stuck when depressed. Not a big deal, but kind of annoying when you're trying to quickly adjust the volume.
Overall I am VERY pleased with this little soundbar. It's simple but what it does, it does very well. I'd recommend it to anyone that has space and/or budget constraints.

I was in need of an upgrade for my computers sound system. And had been searching for something comparable to the Sound bar mini by insignia and lo and behold recently Insignia released an updated model.
I am a fan of Insignia brand audio and video equipment. I have soundbars, televisions, and headphones. While some of the video offerings have been hit and miss I have yet to run into any negative experiences with the audio equipment I have from them. So with that out of the way lets go ahead and start this review.
::General Impressions::
Upon opening the box you will find the soundbar along with the basic audio connections. It has a single optical port and an RCA connection. You will also find a USB port which was not there in the first generation model. The following is included remote, batteries, RCA to 3.5mm jack.
This is not one of the more expensive models on the market it will play your audio and it will sound much better than what most television sets are capable of putting out. And I am more than okay with that so far so good. On to the next part of the review.
::Pros & Cons::
Pros:
- Bigger than the previous gen
- Much easier to wall mount or mount to a bracket
- Better sound quality in comparison to the previous gen
- Better remote control
- Controls are on the right side of the unit and are easy to press
Cons:
- Optical cable not included
::General thoughts::
As I stated earlier having owned the previous gen sound bar It has grown on me. But I am really liking this newer model. It is easier to use because on the first gen the controls were very mushy and not clicky enough if that makes any sense and they were mounted on the top of the sound bar. They were not all that easy to press if you could not locate your remote.
I like how it is much easier to mount the sound bar to the wall or bracket under the television. In my case I prefer to use it for my PC. It is currently hooked up to my PC and Nintendo Switch. The sound is great for my needs it has a richer sound and clarity thanks to the larger profile of the soundbar. Bluetooth clarity is just as good and I am happy with that as well. It is awesome for listening to music while I am doing some cleaning in my bedroom.
::TL:DR::
If you are in search of a soundbar that does not take up a whole lot of room, is easy to use, and mount and plays bluetooth audio then give this soundbar a shot. It isn't uber expensive and will do what all the others can do at a fraction of the cost. Almost forgot to mention don't forget to change the audio settings to PCM if you are using the optical connection. Otherwise you won't hear anything or it will sound choppy.

I really enjoy watching movies on my Android phone, or tablet device when I'm in bed. So what I did was I placed this incredible soundbar on the floor centered under my bed where my headboard is located. I only use it for Bluetooth, so when I'm watching movies especially where there's lots of boom bang pow going on, you really hear it! This device is incredible for the money. Thanks Best Buy!

I always look at the bad reviews first on anything I buy, and this soundbar was no exception. I heard how folks couldn't get the remote to work (the batteries on THIS soundbar's remote have both positives at the top, negs at the bottom-weird), they couldn't connect to Bluetooth (I had no trouble pairing whatsoever), blah, blah, blah. I suspect some of it is either 'Operator Error' or just a lemon buy. But for me personally, I had this thing hooked up and playin' music from my phone, watchin' and actually bein' able to hear the TV in a matter of 30 minutes (pat myself on the back)! It's not a freakin' Bose soundbar, so yeah, it might be a bit tinny, but it's just perfect for us! Just remember, if ya can't figure it out or hate it, just save the packaging and receipt and TAKE IT BACK.
