Easy set-up, surprisingly good sound

I didn’t have really high expectations because it’s so small, but I do have a small-ish TV (29-inch diagonal) in my den that I do some TV-watching on. Its speakers are nothing fancy, and you get used to the uninspired sound. I thought that a sound bar, even a small one that doesn’t overwhelm the TV or the room, would be a nice addition. I have a large (almost 48-inches long) sound bar with a huge subwoofer and two smaller peripheral side speakers in my living room, and they fill the room with sound. My new soundbar here is only 20-inches long, it’s 2-channel instead of five or whatever, and it doesn’t come with any peripheral speakers. It sits comfortably under my TV, which is sitting on a piece of furniture. (The sound bar can be wall-mounted if desired). In spite of its small size, the sound is amazingly full and rich and made me realize just what I was missing when viewing anything on my the den TV. Connectivity is by Bluetooth, digital optical cable, or 3.5 mm aux cable connected to the speaker or headphone jack on the TV. There is no HDMI connection, but you wouldn’t expect these at this price level. I connect mine using the audio cable because my TV has neither Bluetooth nor an optical output jack. There is also a USB port on the sound bar if you want to connect a flash drive with audio files on it to listen to. The included remote, in addition to turning the sound bar on and off and controlling volume (which can also still be controlled using your TV remote’s volume control), allows selection among three sound modes, “theater,” “news,” and “standard.” I generally leave it on standard unless I’m watching a movie and remember that a “theater” mode is available. Switching to this mode does make a difference. The remote also allows muting of the speaker and increasing or decreasing the bass, and the soundbar can be programmed to respond to a different remote, so you could, for example, control your TV and the sound bar from the same remote. I have not tried to do this as I have a basketful of remotes, anyway, so what’s one more, right? Also included in the package are an optical cable, an audio cable, and wall-mounting hardware and instructions. Overall, like I said, I am very pleased and a bit surprised at the high quality of sound provided by this sound bar. With its small size and low price, no one should have to settle for the sound from their small TV’s included speaker any longer.

Sound OK but remote wouldn't sync
