Customers have good things to say about the 2.0 Mini Soundbar 20"’s sound quality, compact size, and ease of use. Many appreciate its value for the price and the convenience of features like Bluetooth connectivity. While some users wish for HDMI ARC capabilities, the positive feedback on sound quality and ease of setup outweighs this concern. The inclusion of a remote control is also a frequently cited plus.

This sound bar presents awesome value. It's loud (when turned up), it keeps the three basic audio channels (high, mid, bass) clear and distinct in the mix, and it's small enough to comfortably sit on your TV stand without almost falling over the edge. You obviously won't get the same thudding, depth charge bass that you would if this came with a standalone speaker, but your honestly won't care. Sound reproduction is really good for any viewing use (TV, movie, or videogame), and you won't be anywhere near maximum value before the device is pumping out some really killer sound.
Hookups include optical audio and more conventional inputs, so this should definitely be compatible with your set. This is strongly recommended for anyone who isn't happy with your TV's built-in speakers, or who (like me) had them fail over time and wants a way to resurrect a quality TV without an expensive repair or replacement. I'm really happy this sound bar was able to save the audio on my HDTV after the weak TV speakers decided to churn out some annoying squelching noise.
The unit is small enough, too, to drop right in front of your set without having to move anything, or, conceivably, to mount on a wall. The remote has all the necessary audio settings you need, too, so you don't have to worry about fiddling with the physical controls if you want to change something.
Strongly recommended to either boost your audio or else to fix a problem with your TV's speakers. Surprisingly good compared to my sound bar which cost twice as much. In short - great quality for the money and a great way of enhancing your home theater experience.

The sound output was so low, that I just unplugged it and continued using the regular sound from my TV. It’s just sitting around collecting dust. Don’t waste your money. Pay more to get better quality.

I dont know how many people gave it good reviews but its garbage. My tv has better speakers than it and also if itsnot connected via bluetooth the soundbar shuts off after 15 minutes because it cant detect that the tv is still on through aux cable. Waste of money. Sound quality is poor.

At promptly 10:00 I received a recording to call back tomorrow. I had already spoken to tech support then was transferred and HUNG UP ON! I am in a wheelchair and need help returning it. Please help.

Great little mini sound bar!

If you are looking to get a little better sound out of your TV speakers or computer speakers. This might be just the little sound bar you are looking for!
Its basically a sound bar that has been compressed into a smaller form factor that is probably about ¼ of the size of a regular sound bar. It measures only 20 inches wide and about 2 ½ inches deep.
Out of the box it feels like a pretty solid product. You get a remote control as well as audio and optical cables. There is also included mounting hardware if you did want to mount this to the wall under a TV.
For connections to the device, there is 1 x 3.5mm audio, 1 x USB-A, 1 x Optical digital audio. IT can also connect via Bluetooth as well. Be sure to note that there is NOT an HDMI connection.
I use this to sit under my computer monitor, but it would also work well under a small TV or just as a standalone Bluetooth speaker.
Now lets get to the sound quality. It is a lot smaller than a normal sound bar, so, as you would expect, the sound you get out of it will reflect that. You aren’t going to get booming bass or room filling sound or anything like that. But it will definitely be an upgrade from most speakers you will find that are built into a TV or a computer monitor. I found that listening to TV or music was quite enjoyable on this little speaker. I found the sound quality to be better than I was expecting for such a small and inexpensive device. You do get a good balance of bass, mids, and highs. On the remote you can also adjust the bass level and there are also 3 listening modes (theater, standard, and news) that you can switch to based on what you are listening to.
Overall, for the price and the small form factor, this is a great upgrade for your TV or computer to get better sound quality without breaking the bank. Definitely check it out!

The Insignia NS-HTSB20S is a compact soundbar measuring only 20" long x 3" high x less than 2.5" deep. The compact size makes it a great option when used with a laptop/desktop. It's small enough to fit easily on my desk yet sounds surprisingly good!
Although it doesn't have an HDMI input, it does offer USB, optical, and 3.5mm audio. Since it doesn't have HDMI and my laptop USB is already in use, I chose the 3.5mm plug option. If you were connecting to a TV, the optical connection would be the ideal choice.
The soundbar works great for gaming when laptop sound just isn't enough. I also connected via bluetooth to my IPhone and it sounds great. You can leave it connected via the 3.5mm cable and change the sound source using the remote. I originally wasn't expecting much bass due to the size but there is a plus/minus bass button on the remote and it really makes a difference. I tried listening to both classic rock and classical music and was equally impressed.
There are three sound options on the remote - standard, theatre, and news - and there's definitely a difference between them. Theatre is my favorite as it seems to provide a good left/right separation, but the news setting is great for informational videos or podcasts.
If you're looking for a home theatre set-up this probably isn't it but for additional sound with a small TV, or computer it really sounds good.
It works EXACTLY as I had hoped when connected to my laptop!

If you are sick of the tinny and cheap-sounding built-in speaker on your television, the Insignia 2.0 channel 20-inch sound bar is the answer to your prayers.
Pretty much everything you need is included in the box, including mounting hardware, a digital optical cable, as well as a 3.5 mm audio cable. There is an easy wall mounting template to make sure you don’t make any mounting mistakes, and they even include two AAA batteries along with the remote control.
The Insignia 2.0 channel 20-inch sound bar boasts a built-in 30-total-watt amplifier that has three sound modes that include standard, theater, and news to provide a customized audio experience.
You can utilize various hook-up options, including digital optical (with the included optical cable), 3.5 mm auxiliary (cable also included), USB, and Bluetooth, so no matter what your method of hooking up to this is, you have options.
Now getting to the sound, which is why you would purchase this in the first place. It is surprisingly high-quality and crisp with a decent amount of bass.
Given the form factor, price point, and all things included with the soundbar, the Insignia 2.0 channel 20-inch sound bar is a fantastic buy and something you should consider to elevate your audio experience while watching television.

You probably would not expect a small no-name soundbar like this one, barely 20 inches long with no subwoofer, to produce decent sound.
But you would be wrong.
The Insignia 2.0 Mini Soundbar punches well above its weigh, pushing out full-bodied clear sound (stereo only at this price), decent bass and enough connections options to ensure you can use it with almost any TV.
To be sure, you will never mistake the sound coming from this soundbar for what you get from an expensive, multi-speaker home theater system. No Dolby Atmos or surround sound support here. But it's a major improvement over the sorry, hard-to-hear, back-firing sound produced by most TVs today, even the very expensive ones.
And at this attractive price point, there is really no reason to suffer with mushy built-in sound systems on any TV, no matter how small on inexpensive they may be.
To be clear, there is nothing fancy about this Insignia soundbar. It frankly looks pretty cheap, with an unattractive all plastic case (basic black of course). There's not even a cloth speaker grill, which used to be pretty standard on even the most inexpensive models. Just a series of narrow slits in the front to let the sound out.
A small rubberized panel on top has four controls: Power, source, volume up and volume down. It is also black and practically invisible in all but the brightest light, so probably will rarely be used. Stick with the small included remote instead, which at least offers a few extra controls, including buttons for boosting or reducing bass, and three sound profiles: Theater, News and Standard.
It is not backlit and its the controls are almost as hard to see as the ones on the soundbar itself, thanks to a low contrast, light gray on black color scheme. OK, maybe you can see labels on the buttons if in you are in your 20s. It's not so great if you are 60 or older.
These sound profiles are usually pretty useless on small soundbars like this one but they are distinctly different. Theater provides more bass and stereo separation. News removes most of the bass to highlight voices and produces a thin midrange sound. Standard is sort of in the middle.
In every profile, the Insignia soundbar produces a much louder and more balanced sound than the TV by iteself. Front firing speakers in the soundbar provide more clarity and the additional bass makes for a much more full bodied overall sound.
Once you get the sound the like, you can probably ditch this remote too since your TV or streaming device can probably be set to take over the volume up and down controls, which are all most people use most of the time. (Power on/ff is generally synced with the TV as well)
This soundbar has three ways to connect to your TV (or other sound device): Optical, Bluetooth and a wired AUX cable. Amazingly (for this price), optical and AUX patch cables are provided. Just make sure you set the correct source or you won't hear anything. (the single power light on the front of the soundbar changes color as you change sources. The color code is on the back of the remote) Also, be aware if you opt for optical, make sure your TV is set to output PCM.
There is a USB input too, for use if you have a flash drive with music on it. But with no app, you have no control over the order or mix of the music. It just plays each song in the order it was stored on the flash drive. You can skip songs with the included remote but that's it.
Also, to be honest, music quality from this thing is not very good. It does not have the range to do much justice to any genre. Fine for TV. But look elsewhere for music playback.
Despite this shortball, this is a good low-end soundbar, if money and space are in short supply. Decent sound (mostly) for a decent price.
