Customers recognize the 2.1 Bluetooth Speaker System's exceptional sound quality, ease of use, and strong Bluetooth connectivity as significant advantages. Many appreciate the system's compact size and the value for its price. However, some users mention that the maximum volume could be higher and that longer cords would improve placement flexibility. A few also reported minor compatibility issues with certain devices.

Only good for blue tooth

I purchased this item a while ago. The setup is easy and the speakers work well. The problem I have is they are extremely annoying if using the direct cable connection to an output. Unless you have what they consider constant sound output, they go back to source seeking after 10 seconds and take a few seconds to pick it back up. If the sound level is too low for them they do the same thing even if there is constant output. The only way to keep them connected is to use the blue tooth connection. I prefer not to buy a blue tooth dongle just for this so I just put up with the annoyance but that is why I'm giving only 2 stars. Again for blue tooth they seem to work fine.

Right out of the box, the sound quality was excellent. I was very happy with this purchase. I played around with the sound and was very excited about the choice I made to go with these. 20 minutes however into listening to music with these speakers, the left speaker just cuts out. I check the subwoofer to ensure the cables are properly secured. Any time either cable is moved that left speaker cuts in and out. After testing, it is concluded that there is a short in the wire. Unfortunately these are getting returned, however I can say that I will be exchanging for a new set of the same speakers. Hopefully this was just a defective set, and not an issue of poor quality cords. That would be a waste.

So did not expect this kind of quality from a insignia product because I know that's BestBuys store brand but the sound quality is amazing and the bass is very nice and smooth as well I've already recommend to my friends and one of them bought it and agreed that it's well worth the money.

Love the sound and the price, but for the price i guess you can't have everything. My set are constantly losing the pairing. I may just have a lemon, but i don't have the loss of sound w/ other speakers or headphones. Even with my phone it loses pairing. But again, great sound and the price is nice.

Overall, these speakers are worth the money. They are not going to give you premium sound like the $100-$200 computer speakers, but they're the best sound you can get for the price!

Excellent speakers for the money they get plenty loud, have good bass, and excellent balanced sound. The frequencies are more balanced at higher volumes than at lower volumes.

Annoying if not for BlueTooth

These sounded great in store but not so good at home. they are primarily designed for bluetooth use. If there is no sound going to it for a few seconds it starts searching for a bluetooth signal again. so when you play music from a wired connection (PC) it dosnt recognize there is a signal for a few seconds. so when you start a song, the beginning of it always gets cut off.
most annoyingly though is the intermittent high pitched tone that they put out. moving surrounding equipment dosnt seem to change it. very annoying. I've read other reviews that suggest its from the bluetooth signal searching.
its unfortunate because they do put out good, clear, crisp sound. but the tone and signal searching is just too annoying.
long story short i'll be returning them. Dont buy em!

Insufficient Bass

I used to have the Logitech X-230 , it lasted me for quite some time, 9 1/2 years in fact, until they stopped working. I would have assumed that this Insgnia Speaker set would have the same sound to the X-230, but that was not the case. Do not buy these speakers if you're looking for bass and loud sound, cause you will be disappointed with the quality of these speakers!

Poor Quality Control

These functioned well at first for a small office setup with decent sound, but they always had some audio popping sounds when using the audio jack from the computer. I attributed it to a bad cord but didn't bother with it to much since I normally used it in Bluetooth mode. The Bluetooth connection worked great for a couple months, but then completely stopped working. Within a day the whole system now won't turn on. Dumping them in the trash & will avoid Insignia in the future.

Bluetooth not reliable, jack makes noise

I have only had this system for about 4 months it has been used a total of 17 times. The pairing button has to be pressed constantly because it only tries to pair for about 6 seconds/flashes. It used to pair pretty quickly with my iPhone 5, my new 6 and my macbook air. Now it won't pair with my macbook at all. It is on my devices list. It just won't pair then disappears and I have to push the button again and start over with no pairing. When I use the adapter I can only play my cd radio over the system and it needs to be continually adjusted and makes horrible crackling noises. I have tried new jacks all of them have to be moved around at the insertion points to keep a connection with all speakers. I also have to be right up against the system for it to pair with my iPhone 6 and that is after many tries. I wish someone could tell me if there is some new drivers or something that I need to get, or if this system is done for. I will not be very happy because the ink on the receipt is almost completely gone. I buy a great amount from Best Buy every year. DO I need to rethink my electronics provider?

Fail - Not suitable for computer use

These speakers do not work with a computer. Everytime you want to listen to something with audio, you have to turrn them on. This speaker set does not auto sense that the computer is on. They "time out" after 10 minutes and do not restart. So if you work at a computer, you will not hear system noises and if you are just working away and start something that has sound - no sound.
Lame.

I was looking for a way to get some tunes in my shop. Using this to connect to my phone to stream Pandora was the perfect thing. Very happy and highly recommend.
