This a good upgrade from your tv sound. Definitely its good but theres a few things to consider here. 1 was the price, roughly is 100 and you get what you pay for. Im giving 3 star due a few things I noticed during this past months of usage. 2 everyone including the manual recommended using the optical cable for the “best” sound, which i did, and what a bummer it sounds way better with the Bluetooth settings In other words Bluetooth sounds better than the actual optical mode. 3-the remote feels a bit cheap, and its a bit hard to turn it on/off sometimes 4- the only downside while using the Bluetooth option, sometimes the soundbar cuts out for a period of 1 to 3 seconds. Does gets sometimes a bit annoying but the sound bar does the trick. Definitely its an upgrade from the tv sound. And it does gets really loud too. If you looking for super nice pro level performance from a soundbar this is not the option.

So I was definitely surprised by this sound bar. I just wanted a basic sound bar for my bedroom TV, that I don't often watch. So because I wasn't going to use it much I didn't want to spend a lot on a sound bar. I had bought a replacement Vizio sound bar to replace my last Vizio, that just died on me. That replacement was awful with terrible sound quality. So I went online on Cyber Monday and found this sound bar and sub for less than I paid for the Vizio. I know that some people would look down on the in store brand but I worked at Best Buy years ago and Insignia isn't bad. And for the price ($59.99) what did I have to lose? I just got it today and actually just finished setting it up. What a relief. It was super easy to set up and worked with no problem out of the box. It comes with component audio cables but not an optical cable. I had my optical cable from my previous set up so I just connected it, plugged in the sound bar and sub, and off I went. The sub is wireless and there is no set up. Everything worked great out of the box. The sound isn't bad and definitely better than the speakers that come standard in most TV's nowadays. Price for performance it's probably the best out there. I'm sure that the audiophiles out there would probably not like this, but they would never look at something in this price range. For the rest of us it's just fine. I definitely recommend this sound bar and sub set up. Even at the non Cyber Monday price it's still a good value.

I have this soundbar paired with a 55" Insignia 4K Fire TV via Bluetooth, and I have to say that this soundbar is a significant upgrade in sound. It out performs the TV's speakers by far. It's easy to setup, and for the price, it's hard to beat.

So I have had this system for close to two years now and can attest that it is a solid system, the price is mind-blowing all things considered and Insignia has always put out a product that exceeds expectations for the price you pay. The soundbar itself looks good, feels more expensive than the price you paid for it and even comes with instructions on how to get the best sound quality from the device. I ended up using what's known as a TOS-LINK cable as from what I was able to gather, it enhances audio output and allows for little to no loss of quality. Set up was a breeze, literally taking not even ten minutes from start to finish, no assembly or tricky wiring required. Just plug in both the soundbar and subwoofer, then input the TOS-LINK cable into the back of the soundbar and TV that you plan on using, making sure the subwoofer is synced to the soundbar. You'll know it's connected when you see a blue light on the back of the subwoofer itself. The soundbar uses an LED light system to let you know which channel is active or if the system itself is on standby. It is both a blessing and a curse, because using the remote to change the input can allow you to accidentally go to the wrong input channel by mistake, plus the range on the remote isn't the greatest. Fortunately since my system is used primarily for my TV, it's always on the digital/TOS-LINK setting and thus I haven't run into any major issues with connections at all. The sound quality is excellent, with mids being right on point. Bonus points that the thing gets surprisingly loud, to the point where I can hear it throughout most of the upstairs of my house when the volume is up high. It's quite nice to listen to and definitely surprised the heck out of me when I first set it up on my system. Now, almost 2 years later, it's still sounding amazing and hasn't blown out on me, so I can safely say the QoL is definitely there. Best Buy's own Insignia brand pound for pound has put out quite a few gems that exceed the amount you pay for the product itself, to the point where I actually gravitate towards the brand whenever the opportunity to do so presents itself. Previously I used one of their 2.0 soundbars that didn't have a subwoofer and even that one sounded excellent, I ended up giving that one to my mom shortly after I upgraded to this set, and as far as I know, she's still using it to this day. So in short, if you are in the market for an affordable soundbar? Definitely give Best Buy's own Insignia brand a shot, you'll be very pleasantly surprised at how good the product is in comparison to its more expensive name brand counterparts.

Great sound and value for the price. Size is very nice, looks nice and subwoofer is right size. Directions about turning unit on are confusing, study directions very close to learn turning unit on. Remote is not very useful, most functions do not work, but enough to use the bar.

This was a great value for the price. The sound is very good and the wireless woofer really puts out the bass. There's a few presets for the sound and about 3 for adjusting bass, so it's not super-customizable, but I haven't had any sound issues that I couldn't make better with the included adjustments. There's a minimal lag on the wireless bass connection but it's not really noticeable. There's enough connection options for what I need and the bluetooth works good with music from my phone. When I bought it it took less than 5 minutes to connect and get working.

Before you buy this product ask yourself do i want it in my bedroom or do i want it for a movie theater/livingroom. First, it is a great price at a 69.99 sale price for an 80w soundbar. Remember that 80 watts that's all. It will be great in a master bedroom if you're like me you probably have a tv on the wall or on top of a dresser. The problem with that is TV speakers are usually facing to the wall or down. which means most of the time you will find yourself raising the volume just to hear the actors voice. Then lowering the volume because the commercials are too loud. Been there? We all have. So is this the best choice for a bedroom Yes. YES it is at a 69.99 value heck yeah. Now if you want it for a living room or a bigger area then i would definitely raise my spending for a good soundbar for example a Polk system, a Samsung or if you want to really go all the way then a BOSE. You will be able to enjoy loud music with any of these. Movies will be theater worthy. But not with a 69.99 soundbar.

I’m using this in the bedroom and so far it’s pretty good. The Bass has just enough bump to it and it can be adjusted. The sound is clear and I don’t notice any lag using the Bluetooth mode. One small thing is you may have to turn the volume up a bit to get the right sound. But pairing it with a phone to play music it works even better and is louder. Wouldn’t recommend it for a big basement or large living room. I paired it with a android smart tv and in Bluetooth mode I can use one remote for volume and to turn the tv channels. Digital Optical works great but I would have to use 2 remotes. I didn’t try any other connections. It also works with Alexa. Using my fire tv cube I can tell Alexa to turn the sound bar on and off. I rate on a scale of 1 to 10. So I’m giving it an 7.5. Also I caught it on sell for 69.99. Also get the warranty. I always get a warranty.

Overall, excellent stability and sound quality. This can get loud. I can listen to the TV effortlessly at less than 15. At 30, it's quite loud and can get louder. Clarity is there and if you need more, lower the bass setting on the soundbar using the remote. Subwoofer is excellent. The rear speakers create those moments when a door knocks from behind. Feels like your in a movie theatre. Make sure your TV has either an HDMI ARC or an optical out connection, or you won't get sound. Does not work with standard HDMI outputs on TVs. Added bonuses are easy to connect Blue-tooth which works great with my cellphone and a mute button for commercials. I got it on sale and it was worth it. Some programs seems to be a little distorted (particularly some youtuber videos) but it's rare and you can change the settings which help. It has standard, surround, game, adaptive, & virtual x speaker options to get the best performance for your particular show. Some are 5.1 others are 7.1. I use it in a smaller living room. The soundbar has 4 speakers. If you have a huge living room, you probably want to get something with bigger rear speakers as the rear speakers are generally very low to create an ambient effect that you really can't hear but it's there. They usually only get loud when the movie makes a loud sound from behind.

I bought this soundbar because it was affordable and because it allows for coaxial audio connection as well as optical connection. I this way I can use it for audio from my PS4 and from my vinyl record player. The system has a good sound for movies and music and the bass it adds is hard to live without once you experience it. The system gets very loud, and my only complaint so far has been that when playing music over bluetooth the subwoofer will randomly stop playing along and the music becomes noticeably flat after it does. Turning the soundbar off and on seems to fix this, and it has only happened on bluetooth music mode. This is a perfect affordable entry-level soundbar but don't expect the amazing quality of more premium options.

I will be purchasing another one. I’m happy, watching tv is more enjoyable now, bcuz of my new sound bar system.

This soundbar will definitely make a noticeable difference as to the TV speakers. I am very happy with the purchase especially the low price and quality of the product, and it was easy to set up. My TV’s speakers sounded very flat, with no bass whatsoever. This soundbar and subwoofer definitely fixed that and it gets plenty loud. The only Issue I have is you have to use the included remote, you can’t the TV’s remote to control the soundbar

I recommend the 2.1-Channel 80W Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer. It was delivered in 3 days. Teenager set it up in minutes. Plug in sound bar to TV and Bluetooth Subwoofer. It was installed with an optical cable (purchased separately). Works well with 50' Insignia TV that I bought last Black Friday. Sound is good for watching YouTube which I use in the music room to practice and for lessons. Volume is plenty. For the modes, I point and wait for the lights to blink. I do think the remote works on too short a distance. Happy to get this on sale for $70. I am truly an Insignia brand convert for features and price. Cant beat the value.

These speakers deliver clean crisp sound and plenty of bass from the sub-woofer. Easy simple hook up to my 55" Insignia F30 TV. The sub-woofer paired instantly, plus the bonus of being able to control the volume with the TV remote makes this the perfect addition. The sound is much bigger than what you would expect from speakers this size.

The sound bar is definitely an upgrade over the speakers in our 10-year old TV, but don’t be expecting Dolby stereo pizazz. Setup was pretty easy. The subwoofer helps, I suppose, but again for the price you’re not going to boom out the neighbors. The biggest problem is using the remote. I saw many complaints about the remote itself, but that’s not the problem. The problem is the unit is HORRIBLE at getting remote signals. I assigned the sound bar to my Harmony remote and had the same lack of response issues as with the remote that comes with. I mean, it works powering on ... on the 3rd try. Yet up/down volume would then be responsive - go figure.

If you aren't looking to spend a lot but still need a soundbar to improve your TV's weak built in speakers, this one is for you. While I won't say this is the best performing soundbar, it is hard to beat the price point. The sound is clear and it gets LOUD, the wireless subwoofer adds that extra bass so that you can feel the music or those action scenes. Overall, it performs really well, my only complaint is the remote and features. It is super simple but lacks any real tweaking besides a few functions. On the other hand, it is super easy to set up and get going.

The Insignia is disappointing for mixed usage. Its sound profile lacks punch in the bass range and brightness in the treble. It also doesn't support surround sound and doesn't have any HDMI ports. It still does a decent job at reproducing voices and instruments, though, and it's quite compact. It also gets quite loud without compressing, which is great for parties. It's not ideal if you want an immersive home theater experience, but it's alright if you're just looking to upgrade your TV or smartphone's integrated speakers.

For the price, this is a great little unit. Sound quality is good, and setup is easy. With a holiday sales promotion, this was very much worth the price. Only one complaint is that I couldn't get the optical audio to work, but that might have been a function of my TV, not this unit, so analog works fine. The bluetooth connection is also a nice feature. I really like the different equalizer settings for speaking, music, or theater modes.
