Awesome First Sound Bar

After research and consulting two brothers who had purchased other brands, I settled on Insignia for value and brand. It has changed my entire enjoyment of TV. My model comes with a remote that allows you to move through 3 sound choices for Standard listening to Theater listening, to listening to News. Each audio selection is distinguishable from the other. If you don't change between them, the sound is OK, but picking the appropriate one does make a noticeable difference. The sub-woofer is quite cool and it has its own volume on the remote.

$50.
Volume control is finicky, turning it on and selecting the input is touchy, optical input, and the sound won’t blow you away.
But for $50??? Wireless subwoofer, Bluetooth capable, and the sound doesn’t suck. This is a perfect bedroom/guest room/ cheap office setup. The highs definitely outweigh the lows, highly recommend if it fits your situation!

Thoroughly read the other comments. They are spot on.
Cliff Notes:
easy set up.
Volume jumps. But it's not that bad. I keep mine at the same level and I listen to pandora. Hula. Netflix. Etc.
Gets pretty loud without distortion.
Does NOT come with optical audio cord.

Good Enough for the Deal of the Day Price

I picked up a couple of these when they were on the deal of the day to replace an older computer speaker system for my computer at work and to give my tv in my bedroom a little better sound. They are worth the deal of the day price but I would be disappointed if I had paid full price. The biggest complaints I have are the lack of any display (to let you know what input you are on and the volume level), the subwoofer cuts in an out picking up mainly male voices in dialogue in tv/movies (I believe this is mainly due to the specific volume I have it on to not be too loud to avoid waking up the kids down the hall), and the jumps between volume levels are a bit too drastic (not loud enough at one level and way too loud at the next level up). Otherwise, the sound is really good and worth the deal of the day price but not full price.

Really solid, basic sound bar. Love the wireless sub. Sound quality is decent, but much better then TV speakers. Only things I don't like is the remote and that there is no EQ settings other than bass and the three preset settings.

It doesn't light our world up but for a Black Friday special this sound bar is really a steal. Good quality, the bass is amazing, easy set up. Only wish is it came with an optical audio cable but we purchased one on Amazon for $5 and were good to go.

I use this at my home which is a 2 bedroom apartment. It's perfect for movies and using the Bluetooth sync to my phone for parties is really cool. I considered getting just the bar without the sub but I am really glad I chose to go with the combination. I haven't turned it all the way up yet but I'm sure it's impressive.

Definitely worth having. Great sound the sound woofer gives it a more theater feel. Only things I didn't line is you have to use a separate remote and the light from the sound woofer stays on (very bright). Over all good product.

I bought this sound bar as a present for myself to replace outdated unattractive speakers I have been using for years. The sound is incredible and the subwoofer works great! It was very easy to set up and the remote makes it simple to control the volume and subwoofer. I would definietly recommend this item!

When you just want a step up from standard tv sound, this system does it.
It doesn't overpower the room with 15" sub-woofers and speakers everywhere - just adds a nice kick. Bluetooth feature is great and wireless sub-woofer enables experiment with placement while its playing.

Insignia™ - 2.1-Channel Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer - was fine. The sound was quite good - for the price. I had 2 isssues (a) the battery was dead in the remote, so it was a bit harder to setup and (b) the buttons for setup (selection of the sources) was awkward so it was hard select the bluetooth or analog input because there is no indicator which is selected. With most low-end soundbars, the volume can only be controlled with the sound bar remote. This is a bummer. Connecting the wireless subwoofer was a snap. And the price was right on a super deal of the day.

This is my first soundbar and subwoofer. I know I can never go back to not having one again. The setup was very easy. Its definitely a 'sound' game changer. The kids love to use the bluetooth option while playing games.

The sound bar produces very good sound and is very easy to install. The only negative things are: you have to be careful with the subwoofer placement as it might not receive the signal if some thing blocks it (interference), the remote control buttons are not the best as the volume and subwoofer level buttons sometimes have to be pressed repeatedly to get it to work and you have to point it almost directly at the sensor on the bar. Also, the sound effects can get very loud and much louder than the main sound all of a sudden so sometimes you have to be playing around with the volume level throughout a movie.

This system sounds nice and full. It was super easy to set it up and start using it. A couple considerations if you’re thinking about purchasing this:
- It looks funny if using it with TVs < 40”. It’s just a bit too wide
- If you have an insignia TV, the TV remote will control the volume on both the soundbar and the television (even if you have set your TV speakers to be off). This means that a single volume increment/decrement from your remote will actually act as double volume adjustments (since it increases the volume through the soundbar by one and increases the TV audio output to the soundbar by one), making it easy for things to get real loud real fast.

My Mom purchased this as a surprise for my Dad to correspond with the Insignia television that she had just purchased for him to go with his new man cave~
The sound quality on this bar and subwoofer are absolutely phenomenal~
We HIGHLY recommend this purchase and look forward to many hours of fantastic sound in the new room~
The Bluetooth capability is particularly noteworthy ~
Insignia is nothing to play with~
They give the well-known brand names a very good run for their money~
Again, we highly recommend that you purchase an Insignia product~
It's a great QUALITY product at a fantastic price~

Found this on Black Friday in store and took a flyer that it would fit our needs. It's basically replacing the tinny speakers on our LG LED 3D 55" TV. I'm glad I took the chance. This is an excellent soundbar for the money. Yes, there are ones with more bells and whistles that cost three times as much. But, WHY? There's more than enough bass to satisfy our spacious living room. It can get plenty loud. The sound quality is a nice mellow midrange sound and not too tinny. Even the salesperson I dealt with at the store recommended this one over a Samsung model which was double the price. There are a few drawbacks such as no digital readout to tell which volume you are on and I wish the volume could increase and decrease at smaller increments but these complaints are MINOR compared to the value this unit brings. If you are just looking to replace the speakers on your nice flatscreen LED TV, this is a great choice!

I didn't expect such good sound from a soundbar that was so inexpensive. A big plus is that it's simple to set up. Very happy with it. Only downside is that It can be hard to get the volume right.

This sound bar puts out very good sound and deep bass that rattles things on my walls during an action scene. Easy to hook up. Good blue tooth connection for playing music from your phone too. Very happy with my purchase after 2 months.
