The ability to quickly swap drives makes this a nice upgrade over previous versions. Utilizing USB-C as the primary interface also helps. The lid can stick ever so slightly when trying to open it, but I'd rather it do that than just slide open with almost no effort. Performance is about what I'd expect, as the SATA drive will be the limiting factor over even a 5Gbps connection.

Cost effective, easy to use, and works as promised via a simple USB-C cable. Quite happy with this, recommend if you are looking for device to plug in your old hard drives.

This drive enclosure is great! I put an SSD drive in and it is working perfectly. I would recommend it to anyone who has a drive they would like to protect and use.

Easy to use, comes with vibration dampeners/foam stickers and is actually toolless! 10/10 it is perfect and I am actually using it for 2 different Sata laptop drives that I will be storing data on.

Solid construction. Pretty fast read/write for a value priced storage system, A good way to use spare spinners replaced by SSDs.

2.5 inch SSD enclosure is just what I was looking for usb-c cable and 6GB transfer speeds went well for more my data transfers. Insignia label always exceeds my expectations never had a problem with any of there products.

Very simple way to turn an internal hard drive into an exterior drive. I have loaded things onto it, reformated, and had no troubles. Keep in mind both connections are USB-C which might be a problem with an older machine

Using this enclosure to store the SSD from a computer that was upgraded. Was easy to install the SSD and works as expected when plugged into the new computer.

Bought one of these to clone my OS onto a larger SSD. Worked perfectly with Samsung EVO 870 2TB on SATA 6GBs and EaseUS cloning software. Used it to clone another storage drive to a larger drive, then swapped the clones into the PC and everything worked perfectly. Tested transfer speeds by backing up large volumes with the spare EVO 850s on both the original PC and laptop running an M.2. Tranfer speeds inside the case on SATA6 are equal to speeds when directly attached to the motherboard. (Some cheap cases have poor firmware that hinders transfer speed). The case is a bit difficult to open, as it should be, but it does open with firm pressure and closes very securely. I have been able to pop SSDs in and out regularly and have purchased more for offline backup purposes.

Worked perfectly to recover the hard disk from a broken laptop. Good instructions. Nice that it included the cable.

I ordered this so that I could transfer my old game files, pictures, documents, etc. off of my old laptop after it went dead (likely forever). So I ordered a new laptop and took my old hard drive (2.5 sata SSD) out of the old one, slid the old hard drive into this enclosure, and plugged it in. It took a while to transfer (as one would expect), but it worked perfectly. I didn't have to mess with anything a ton besides selecting my files, it was easy to use. My only gripe is that the bottom edge of the enclosure has a tiny lip makes it a little bit harder to slide the drive in- that was the only real difficulty I had with this thing.

I bought a new Win 11 computer and rather than just delete the information on my old one, I took the SSD drive and made a Backup drive by using this enclosure. It works great and I still have info from my old computer.

Easy set up and convenient to use. It does take a minute or so for the software to gel and your information to show up on the screen.

Works perfectly I can completely wipe and repair my drives now no need for a tech

I’ve bought two of these for a couple of ssd’s that I needed to make portable. The first one that I use as a media drive for me pc works flawlessly. The second one I was using for a raspberry pi os to run from usb and it would blink the big LED once before powering down. The only think I can think of to cause this issue is the enclosures board pulling too much power, since I used a sabrent usb/sata cable with the same drive just fine. Should work for most things but if you’re having issues, probably best to start with this piece.

The purpose is to use used hard drives as storage and a way of transferring very large amounts of data from computer to computer. This handles this very well.

Good sturdy, holds my external hybrid HDD. Sturdy, easy to use and I love how easy it is to pull it out and swap the HDD if i need to.
