Have a feeling it won't survive a drop from waist height but I'm not willing to test and find out. Seals up pretty tight though. Speeds are as close to advertise as possible.

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered this so that I could transfer my old game files, pictures, documents, etc. off of my old laptop after it went dead (likely forever). So I ordered a new laptop and took my old hard drive (2.5 sata SSD) out of the old one, slid the old hard drive into this enclosure, and plugged it in. It took a while to transfer (as one would expect), but it worked perfectly. I didn't have to mess with anything a ton besides selecting my files, it was easy to use. My only gripe is that the bottom edge of the enclosure has a tiny lip makes it a little bit harder to slide the drive in- that was the only real difficulty I had with this thing.

I use it for a samsung ssd on my shield pro. My only complaint is that this is usb 2 not usb 3.....the box only says works on 2 and 3. Not helpful since usb is backwards compliant. They need a usb 3.0 speed since sata 3 outpaces usb 2. Only reason i bought this was because they dont sell an enclosure with a power supply. Ssd's will also use more than 5 watts when writing and starting up, wish the enclosure would allow more than 5. Otherwise it's doing what it should....except for the usb bottleneck
