I use this drive rack all the time to retrieve users data from computers that no longer boot up. fast and reliable. plug and play

The equipment itself is top-notch, excellent speeds and really easy to use. I gave 3 stars because i bought it "pre-opened" with the Best Buy "It's just like new" or whatever sticker on it, and when I got it home, NO CORDS WERE IN THE BOX. For the $4 I saved, I wish I'd bought a brand new one, because the hassle and stupidity I had to go through was NOT worth it.

Was building a new System and transferring old data from my previous this worked out great. Pulled old drives and used this to read them and extract data to new system.

Whar a was to orginize your date and change hard drives fast. this take both laptop and desktop drives. very fast.

Docking Station seems good when I first got it. Fairly easy to uses not at problem with it at all. But not at durable as I thought it would be. Pro: Ease of use, plugged and play. Light Weight. Con: Loose connection for hard drive bay when connected, If not careful you could snapped the hard drive from the bay and broken the parts off without unlatching it.

I have used this bay several times to slave damaged drives for info recovery, as well as hdd to SSD migrations. It works very well. The black color really blends in nicely to my desk, but the branding is a bit large... Insignia in big silver letters on the front. The only complaint besides that would be the power supply. It's a big plug mounted transformer that is taking up 3 or 4 plug spaces on my power strip. It would be perfect if it had a single port plug with an in line transformer.

The device is stable, fast, easy to use and performed as expected. It was delivered to me timely and without issue.

We purchased this to recover information from the hard drive of our desktop computer that stopped working. Very easy to use and could easily recover old files. Nice to also have a slot for a smaller laptop hard drive if ever needed. Has an on/off switch on the back so we can turn off when not in use. Only very minor negative is that it has no cover for long term use to keep out dust (when hard drives are inserted).

Worked better then expectations. Fast, easy setup. Good cords, unlike some products where cords seem like an afterthought.

If you have an application this benefits, it's great! If not, well it doesn't necessarily do much. Maybe you can basically convert some old drives to external drives? Still, I was able to obtain it on short notice when I needed it and it worked as expected.

I had a desktop computer where the graphics card died, and needed to recover the information to transfer to the new computer. This worked perfectly!! Just plug in and use as a regaular external drive. This was a life saver!

I have used external HD docks before. They are useful, and the Insignia is as easy as it is to use. Good throughput and easy/no setup.

The hard drive on my HP desktop was on the way out and I bought the replacement hard drive at Best Buy along with the "toaster" that copies the programs. Even though I am not a techie the instructions were written clearly and the entire process took about 2 hours to complete. The new hard drive works great and this saved me $1,000 as compared to a new desktop.

Great tool for recovering otherwise lost storage. Perfect for when an external drive's power fails--all you need to do is strip the drive down and plug it in here and there you go.
