I'm glad it is made for desktop SATA drives and Laptop SATA style drives. Easy to use.

I have been having problems with one of my external hard drives lately. My computer would not read it. So, I decided to take off the enclosure of the drive and put it on this Insignia. It worked. I saved alot of money and my data was not lost. The cable port of the enclosure was broken. I love this purchase.

The insignia 2 bay hard drive docking station is functioning as expected. I have been using it constantly for about two weeks with no issues at all.

Very easy to set up, sometimes the or the casing of the hard drive just stopped working. If I knew about this earlier, I could’ve gotten this and still have those hard drives.

This device has been handy for clearing old drives, transferring of data between computers with spare drives, and facilitating creation of redundant backups of important data. USB 3 has made data transfer quicker as well for computers that also have USB 3 over similar devices I have had in the past. Reasonable priced as well in my opinion, quality is good.

It does the job. I was able to recover all of the documents. However it was a little difficult to insert the HDD just in the right, exact position to be able to get the documents. Not taking about the HDD being upside down. The HDD was in the right direction but still took several times, inserting it in the right direction to be able to get the information. But once it was inserted right it worked perfectly.

I had 2 internal drives that user to be external. I picked up this unit and able to get all the data from both drives. My wife liked the extra space so much, it is now permanently attached to her computer.

I had a harddive that wouldn't boot into Windows regardless of the boot options I selected. I removed the harddrive and plugged it into this on a separate computer. I was able to see all of my stored files and was able to transfer them to the other computer. A life (and money) saver to say the least!

does exactly as described. simply plug and play and you can pull all the data you want from an internal drive. you can use both 3.5 and 2.5 with ease.

I would give it a 5 star but I have only used it once, and it worked flawlessly. My laptop died, and I was able to pull the hard drives, and pull all my data onto my new laptop - FAST. It was great. Feels a bit light weight, so it may be fragile, but if you don't drop it you should be fine for years.

This item is a lifesaver. My older computer crashed and thanks to this docking station; I was able to transfer my data to the new system. It seems to be very well made and very easy to work with. I was able to convert my older internal hard drive into a usable external one. The dock comes with a rather long power cord and is very easy to use.

After having the Geek Squad check out what happened to my PC, they said mother board had died. Leaving me with all my data on that computer out of reach. I was panicking big time! They suggested the Insignia and WITH IT I now have full access to all my information on that hard drive.. it works just like any other external hard drive! THANKS and HATS OFF to the GEEK SQUAD!

This thing works great for my purposes. I have a bunch of hard drives sitting around that I didn’t know what was on it, this allows me to check them without opening my computer up and plugging them in. Could also use them as external drives if needed.

Such a great product. The power source on our old desktop bit the dust so we decided to just buy a new desktop (I'm basically computer illiterate so I don't know how to safely replace a desktop power source). We were easily able to transfer all of our pertinent data/documents/pictures from our old hard drive to our new computer. Such a great device!

I have only used this on one drive so far, but I was able to get what I wanted off of it. The drive was even from a broken laptop.

Great for cloning, little bit bulky. Good deal for the cost.

Upgraded from old single slot dock to dual and USB3. Great for cloning drives quickly.

This works pretty well, only weird thing I encountered was that I was in the middle of browsing a hard drive on one of the bays, then I inserted another one and it took over the drive letter and messed up my work flow. So if you're going to do two hard drives, plug in both at the same time

Bought this because I needed to flash Home Assistant on an SSD to put in my Intel NUC. Easy process. All you need to do is power it via the power cable and hook it up to your computer with the USB cable. Then you can put your HDD or SSD in it to flash like a regular USB device.
