I used it to recover data from a WD MyBook. On Mac, I needed software to read a linux disk (I used "extFS for Mac") but the docking station worked perfect...totally tolerant of plugging the disk in/out, which I did a lot.

Commodity caddy for bare drive access, invaluble when you just need to move a metric butt load of data around. Why pay more for a brand name?

There is nothing much to this. You insert a hard drive or solid state drive into it and it works. USB cable comes with it. Booted up on my iMac with no problem.

Bought a cheap one online and it didn't work. Very unstable. I should have just come bought one of these to begin with. Rock solid.

Build feels a little flimsy and looks a little clunky (sort of like a little toaster!), but it does the job well with both standard and solid state hard drives.

It doesn't toast your hard drives, I promise. But it does work great for easily connecting 2.5" or 3.5" drives to your computer. Haven't had any issues with it. Highly recommend!

Had a bunch of HDDs that I needed to retrieve info from, and I have cables that will do that. But this is so much simpler!!! Just drop it in and you are ready to go. Only wish is that it had an adapter for older IDE HDDs, but, oh well...

no drivers needed tested in windows and linux. Speeds appear great so far only tested with small ssd and 3tb drives but has already saved me much headache recovering data. For the price would expect cloning or USB C but works great

My WD External hard drive was not being recognized by my computer. After some research it was the power board in the case of the hard drive. Took the hard drive out of the case and placed in the docking station and all data was recovered

When I replaced internal hard drives. I kept them in a box. When I found this device, oh my goodness! I have since repurposed the older drives as portable drives for extra storage. This is a great tool!

Use this for extra internal drives to make the external storage. Just plug in power supply and add drives to slots and plug in usb to computer and drives will appear in windows 10 under my computer ready for use.

I had two decisions to make. 1. get a detachable 4tb hard disk or 2. get this docking station and get a separate HDD. went with 2 and have since not regretted it. Will give an update to this after a few more weeks.

Never had one before, but already can see the usefulness. Plug in two hard drives and/or one USB flash drive and they appear on your computer and are useful. Copying. Downloading older drives. Drive repair. Lots of uses. Quality seems good.

Handy for data recovery from failed computers as long as drive itself is functional. Also gret for mirroring working drives to make an offline backup for future failures.
