I purchased this item to get USB 3 on my 2012 Mac Pro. It does not work on the Mac Pro --- all it does is power external USB devices. I'm sure this product is great on Wintel machines, but not on a Mac.

This is the best USB 3.0 pcie card you can get from Bestbuy and all you need to do is look at the top reveiw with the link for the driver that works with Win7! I was getting 175mbs and sometimes more on transfer speeds... The bottleneck wasnt this device!
