Many also appreciate its size and steaming capabilities, finding it performs well and offers a large capacity. So i needed a bigger rice cooker and stumbled upon this. I wasnt sure how big it really was because my smaller rice cooker is so deceiving. I can only make 2 cups of uncooked rice in that one. I needed a bigger one to be able to save time and feed our big family plus for special occasions like christmas eve where we hosted both of our families. I cooked 8 cups of uncooked rice and still had room for more rice. The rice came out so perfect its crazy (For white rice: 2 cups of uncooked rice to 2.5 cups water plus salt and a little oil to keep the rice loose) . I love that im able to steam veggies. I also love that it has settings for all different types of rice. We actually use mixed grain and were so shocked to see that as an option. Ive yet to try to the quinoa or brown rice options but plan on doing it soon and doubt ill have any issues. This thing is big so make sure you have cabinet space or counter room. Its easy to clean and works like a charm. My family members are now contemplating getting one haha its that good.

I almost forgot that I had this, Christmas was good this year. After unboxing it and washing everything, I used it for the first time and it made perfect rice. Zero learning curve. It was simple to use, 1 part rice, 2 parts water (spoonful of coconut cream/or butter and salt- optional), and push the button for the type of rice you’re cooking. Parboiled rice jasmine rice basmati rice, you want to press the white rice button, Brown rice pressed brown rice button wild rice press the wild rice button. You could steam food, vegetables, and it comes with a steamer tray, measuring cup, Plus utensils to scoop out your food. Don’t forget to rinse your rice before you cook it.
BTW- This is a BIG rice cooker, make sure you have the counter space.

Luv that making rice is no a set it and forget it process. This cooker is easy to clean and maintain. I primarily make jasmine rice so I don't use the pot markings and instead follow package directions but the timer still makes cooks it perfectly. It does take up a decent amount of space. Only suggestion is that the power cord could be longer.

New to using a rice cooker. So far I have only used it to cook white rice. I started by testing it with 2 cups dry rice and worked my way up from there.
I felt using the amount of water recommended made the rice a bit more mushy than I'd like. Just added a little less and it came out great!
Also recommend adding the salt along with the water.
It gives a 10 minute countdown to when it'll be ready (the total time varies with the type of rice/amount).
I really like that it keeps it warm after it is done cooking and I do not have to worry about it burning.
There are other features that I haven't used but glad they are available such as a delay timer so you can set it up to start cooking in the future so you come home to warm rice!
I got it while it was on sale for under $30 with tax.
The only CON I can really think of is that it's hard to see the markings to add the water. Perhaps it's only me because I don't keep a brightly lit kitchen so I have to use a flashlight to see the marks. I added two pictures, one without the light and one with.
Hope this review helped you!

Not sure why this got so many positive reviews. Followed the guidelines for the rice to water ratio and the rice came out hard/uncooked. I really disliked how the timer did not show until the final countdown... that is a big issue for me. You don't know it's cooking until like 15 minutes into it... not sure why this company/brand decided to just have lines dancing around and only showing the timer at the final count down.

Our rice cooker was delivered in its original box. it was so banged up and had a hole in the box. we returned it to best buy and wanted another one but was told it was sold out store wide. so we got our money back and went to sam’s and got a instant pot for $79.

We ordered this online in time for the recent Thanksgiving weekend. At first we were somewhat skeptical about getting Best Buy's house brand Insignia for a rice cooker, considering that we have been using Black & Decker and various Asian-based brands over the years. However, this item's size and price got our attention. As of this writing, we have been using this cooker for over three weeks now. So far, it has produced for us generous amounts or servings of near-perfect steamed white (Japanese) rice, nicely-cooked pasta/spaghetti and wonderfully-steamed dim sum (shu mai or siomai). What's more, the inner cooking bowl is very easy to clean. Time will tell though if it's built to last.

While growing up and now with my own family I've been cooking and eating rice almost daily for over 40+ years, and I've had extensive experience with all kinds of rice cookers, different brands, sizes, you name it, from the most basic and cheapest, to the most expensive on the market. This rice cooker is one of the best ones I've had, at a great price point. I snagged it for half price during a "Deal of the Day" special, but it's worth even its full price.
Appearance-wise it's sleek and classic looking in stainless steel; looks great on the kitchen counter. I like the black/stainless steel combo look. The cover/lid has a nice sturdy handle, and is attached to the rice cooker which is something I insist on having with any rice cooker of my choice--it's SO convenient not to have to find a place to put down an unattached rice cooker lid. And the steam that gathers on the underside of the lid doesn't run and drip down back into the rice, making parts of it soggy, since it instead conveniently runs down the attached lid when opened and into the provided little side container. Only the better rice cookers have this feature.
There are a lot of fancy-looking buttons with various options for such things as quinoa, white rice, oatmeal, brown rice, and steaming, but I've only used it for white rice. There is also a "keep warm" button selection. The actual process to cook rice is so simple and easy, just put the rice in, add water, then press the button. The display will show how many minutes are left in the cooking process, and when the rice is fully cooked it will beep and automatically switch over to the 'keep warm' feature. Easy peasy lemon squeezey. Oh, and it also comes with a steaming tray, a measuring cup, a rice paddle, and a ladle. The inner pot has a superb nonstick coating so the rice never sticks and makes it a breeze to clean up.
The capacity is huge, 20 cups max (but not to worry--it doesn't take up a lot of space or have a large footprint). We are a family of five and it is more than big enough for our daily needs, but it's great to have the ability to cook more when we have guests or want to make extra.
Definite recommend!

Great rice cooker. It does a great job of cooking rice, from small amounts to large amounts, just be sure you soak for a few minutes and rinse really well to remove starch from the rice before cooking. I really like the large capacity and that it is so easy to use.

I have purchased almost a dozen of these pots so far over the years. I use mine several times a week, and have sent one to each of my daughters and brothers. Unfortunately, the small pots don’t seem to last and break very easily. I have two small ones that I have just given to my grandkids to use in their little kitchen. That being said the large ones are wonderful. I currently have three and I cook in them 2 to 3 nights a week. I cook homemade dog food for my dogs and a couple others. I put all the ingredients together in the evening and let it cook overnight. The pot does not burn the food. It works wonderfully. I also use it to cook steak and onions for myself. I sear the steak on the sauté function and let it then cook until it’s done. It seems to really hold in the flavors of the foods. I also love it because it’s lightweight and easy to clean. Unfortunately, the air pot will scratch easily if you use any, harsh utensils. So only use silicone wood or plastic cooking utensils.

Best rice cooker I've ever used! I've been cooking rice for over 40 years, using a rice cooker for most of that time. This cooker makes the fluffiest tastiest rice I've ever made. I've also used it for big batch oatmeal with perfect results. It cleans up so easily, too. I will never go back to my old-fashioned rice cooker again! This one is perfection!!

I've never owned a rice cooker before but now I don't know how I lived without it. It makes the rice just perfect. I can't wait to use the steamer. It's very easy to use. Put in the rice and water and push a button
