Awesome size and convertible, digitally controllable temperature a huge plus for aging and storage of beer. I ordered another.

So far, so good. I purchased this freezer about five weeks ago and it is working great. I had owned a frigidaire before this one and it only lasted nine years. I thought i would give this Insignia a try because it was cheaper than the better known brands and had more features for the price. It seems to be well made and it isn't noisy and that is good because it is in my kitchen. It cools great and has plenty of room and doesn't run a lot. This is a 5 star item so far.

Good Freezer - Inoperable WIFI - Poor Service

We purchased this about 6 weeks ago after our previous freezer got unplugged and we had a mess to clean up. So a freezer with a WIFI was important to us. It's a tall freezer and the Bestbuy Crew worked hard to get it into our basement. They plugged it in and left. The freezer cools great - 0 degrees with a -13 deg quick freeze feature. Our WIFI is on the second story. You have to connect your WIFI to the freezer and after connecting, then reconnect your phone to your house WIFI. I ran my phone battery dead twice the first time I tried to connect and was unsuccessful. So I purchased a WIFI extender from Best Buy as suggested in the Owner's Manual. My phone has excellent signal in the basement. The instruction manual is very vague on connecting to the WIFI and it is next to impossible for one person to do. You have to wake up the display on the door then push some buttons until 0 is displayed then push a button and AP displays. But AP only stays lit for about 5 seconds and goes back to displaying the temp. After you get into AP mode you have to connect your phone to the freezer WIFI, and after connected, your phone will try to reconnect to your house WIFI but you have to key in your password. We figured out that with a second person, once in AP mode, you can keep pushing a button on the freezer door that changes AP to 1 then 2 then 3 then AP again. And by doing that the WIFI will eventually catch the freezer in AP mode and connect. After it connects you can go into the Insigna App on your phone and change the temp. and everything appears to be fine. But about 1 to 2 minutes after the freezer successfully connects, the freezer drops the WIFI connection. We purchased the Geek Squad warranty to cover the freezer. So I called Geek Squad. The Geek Squad Rep came out and watched me connect and watched the freezer drop it's connection. He called Best Buy for assistance and got none. So he ordered a new antenna/smart card. A week later he installed it and same problem. So he left to call Insigna to find out more about it. After 9 days of hearing nothing, I called him and he said he got no help from Insigna. So he ordered another freezer like mine so they could play with it in the store to see if it would connect. It was supposed to arrive in the store last Tuesday - 5 days ago. I haven't heard anything. I'm getting tired of pushing the repairman to get results. I'm also disappointed that a freezer with a digital display on the door that tells you what the SET TEMP is, cannot display what the actual temp is inside the freezer. It appears you can see the inside temp on the Insigna app on your phone but not on the door. You have to hang a thermometer inside and open the door to find out. Our WIFI has only been connected twice for a couple of minutes so haven't had much experience using the actual features after connected. Also the Owner's Manual says if it's in Freezer Mode, that the WIFI will send your phone an alert if the temperature has been above 32 degrees for 3 days. At that point I don't want to know about it. Why not alert me when it gets to 32 degrees or let me set the temp and the duration when I should be notified. At this point it's a good cooling freezer with an inoperable WIFI and the Geek Squad Service ain't worth purchasing. If they get it fixed, I'll gladly give it 5 stars but not until then.

Was not expecting this refrigerator to be this big! It's HUGE!! It's a convertible, too. Can be frig or freezer. Am using it as a frig, so can't attest for freezer mode, but it also has a built in wifi signal to let you know if there is an issue with the temps and to adjust it. My only negative critique is that the shelves seem to slant slightly down and are a metal grid with a plastic coating and can be a bit slippery. We keep things on the top shelf pushed back so things don't slide out. Lots of door space, but not deep enough for gallon milk containers. Would recommend.

I bought two of these for my garage. First of all, they're way bigger than a normal garage fridge. The delivery people said that they deliver these units to farms for meat storage. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is the app and wireless features are buggy. I had to unplug one to set this up and add a repeater to extend my wireless network. Also, there is a lot of room between the non-adjustable shelves. It would be nice to be able to move the shelves up and down since there is a lot of wasted room.

I would give this a 5 but the shelves aren’t adjustable and if you’re not stacking flat items there’s a lot of wasted space. But with that being said, I love the size, the app was easy to set up, it’s quiet, energy efficient, and can work as a fridge or freezer. Highly recommended

Large capacity upright unit. Has worked well since we received it. Have not tried the Wi-Fi feature yet. Cooled down fast and maintains temperature at a constant temp. Have used as a freezer unit only have not tried it in refrigerator mode.

We have a Samsung flex door primary fridge with bottom half set to refrigerator. So we always have issues storing frozen food due to lack of space. With the Insignia 21 cu freezer, we can store all the frozen items and stock them. I also like the ability to monitor the temperature using the Insignia app. One thing I miss is the notification from the app if there are changes in the freezer settings done manually.

This thing is massive!! Great shelving setup, WIFI connectable for monitoring and controlling temperature. It can be freezer or a refrigerator, but not both. For someone who needs a lot of storage for one or the other. Have not had it long, so can't testify to durability. But its's quite quiet and lets you know when door is properly shut with some gentle dinging. Would recommend.

Huge, looks way taller in person. The alarm, door space & wire basket on the bottom are all features I was looking for & it has them all. But the digital Bluetooth capability with temperature control is a plus. It really does have everything I wanted in a freezer. The only thing I’m not crazy about is that the front is flat white unlike the sides that have the traditional rough feel. It shows every finger print & is going to be hard to keep looking clean in my garage. But not a deal breaker for the price I’ll just wipe it down more often. This freezer is hundreds cheaper than other brands with the same features & holds everything I needed it to with room to spare.

I bought 2 of these. 1 operating as a freezer and 1 operating as a refrigerator. The units operate fine. The display is below expectations. It does not display the actual temperature inside, only your set point. The wireless function has yet to work properly, so no points there either. The racks for the food storage are of inferior design and do not hold much weight without bending. Had I reviewed these on the show floor I would have probably bought a better product. These are not top of the line, well engineered and manufactured, but they are not the lowest end either. Either way, I am stuck with them. Will see if they hold up. I know the racks won’t.

I wanted a matching refrigerator and freezer and boy are they hard to find! I opted to go with this convertible refrigerator/freezer so I could have two that match. I just set one up as a fridge and the other as a freezer. They work great! We use them in the garage as extras. BTW, the wifi and app for these do not work well, but I wasn't interested in those anyway. I got a great price on sale at Best Buy!

We purchased two of these units 1 1/2 years ago and they have been great, so we bought another. The ability to convert from Fridge to Freezer is awesome as we have many different needs through a 12 month year. The alarm is also good when doors are left open or temperature drops below the desired setting. The storage space is easy to adjust and use and more than enough room.

We chose this freezer by default. We were replacing a 20.6 cu ft freezer, and this was the only one Best Buy had that was bigger than 19 cu ft. So far we're happy with it. Not only is it large enough to hold a lot of food, it has easy to access digital settings right on the door. The real proof will be in its durability, but so far, so good.

This freezer is a good value. I have it loaded. The shelves tend to sag, and frankly I wish I had more shelves or baskets or something because they shelves are big enough that it gets challenging stacking food on them with the stacks falling over. It has a basket in the bottom which would be good everywhere except the top.

When it was delivered, one of the guys noticed something sticking on the door like left over tape. As he cleaned it off, there was a scratch underneath that tape. It was white in color like someone from the factory tried to cover it up. I downloaded the app to my phone, then tried (over and over again), to get the freezer app to display, but nothing happened. So much that. The freezer works very well, but sometimes the door is hard to open and you have to place one hand on the side of the freezer as a brace, and pull with the other hand. The freezer is very roomy and the food stays cold like it is supposed to, and those are the most important things. It is in the garage and that doesn't seem to be a problem except now, I have less room in my man cave. It was on sale, so for the price it is okay. I wouldn't buy it at the full price. If all you are looking for is a big freezer and not interested in using the app, then this is for you. If you are into smart appliances, you might want to check other appliances out. So, I recommend it as a freezer only.
