I’m very impressed with this little tv. I’m aware it can be easier to interpret a good picture on small screens yet this pic quality exceeds my expectations. Solid blacks, bright enough whites(it is an LED-lit LCD after all), and fairly natural colors. 1080p at this size is a rarity although it’s difficult(if at all) to tell the difference from 720p at 32” and below(this is 22”). Still happy to have it: some 720 sets struggle with 1080 sources. No such issue here. Motion clarity is good to despite being only 60hz refresh rate(standard). Today’s tvs tend to have quicker response(less lag) and related issues than the LCDs of the past so a 120 refresh is not quite as vital. Fast motion depiction isn’t perfect, and no LCD or OLED TV set to 60hz will be for sports and such, but it’s good enough and better than I expected. For the confused out there all LED TVs are LCDs. LED only refers to the backlighting, LCDs used to use fluorescent, now they use brighter more efficient LED. My other 3 HD tvs are mid-line Panasonics from 2013-2014 with true 120hz refresh rates. Yes their pic quality is better in practicality every way and better for sports/nature/reality but it’s not dramatic. Those tvs were rated amoung the best in pic quality at their regular price points. This Insignia is a budget tv that punches way above its class. I’m shocked at the sound quality. It’s clean, not harsh or tinny. Light on bass of course and it won’t blow you away but not desperate for a sound bar like most modern tvs are. My 3 Panasonic’s sound absolutely awful; this Insignia sounds much better than all of those and they’re 40”, 50”, & 55”. Of course I have rose hooked to decent sound systems but the Insignia is just a kitchen tv. This tv is a bargain at regular price which easily earns it 4 stars for overall value(would be 5 if it had built in Roku or FireTV). Considering I paid only $60 this is a 5 star value for me. Thank you Best Buy

For $80 on sale, this is a serious win. I'm planning on using this TV in my travel trailer, but since it is late November, the trailer is already winterized and covered. I will install it on a wall in the RV in early Spring. In order to test the TV to make sure it worked, I hooked it up in my kitchen to a Fire TV box (2nd gen). Everything works well and I was really impressed with both the picture and sound. I was also pleasantly surprised at the weight of the TV. I don't know the exact weight, but it's probably 1/3 of the weight of the TV I currently use in the kitchen with the same size screen. This is not a smart TV and I didn't need one since I have an extra Fire TV Stick (2nd gen) to use with the TV and can also plug the TV into my RV antenna and/or campground cable. It should really help to pass the time on rainy days while camping. Also, for anyone else wanting this for an RV, it only draws 0.5 amps on AC power, so about 5.5 amps on 12V DC when going through a power inverter, so it's very efficient.

This TV's picture is great, while side to side viewing angles are well, bad, the picture washes out quickly, the up and down viewing angles are great with no color distortion (at least from what I can tell) but the sound, well, how do I put this, it is a TV. I don't know what they do at the factory, but at first the speakers were awful, just terrible, only highs but after using them for a bit, it got mids and even some bass, but it still has a bit of a 'muddy' sound to it. For the remote, it is just a standard TV remote. And no, the power, channel and volume buttons are not green. They are glow in the dark, which I found pretty useless since those are the easiest buttons to find on my last Insignia TV (which was from 2012 btw, these things last a long time for the price). The TV is a little chunky, but that is fine, bezel is average, feet seem sturdy and quite planted in place, I don't see it just moving, but if you bump into it, it will move. Vesa mounts protrude out from the back, so flush wall mounting is not possible unless you put it inside the wall, it has a little adjustable tie thing in the back to hold the power cable when moving the TV (very nice touch) but it is not removable, don't try to rip it off. It won't work. And if you owned a Insignia TV in the past, you probably know what I am talking about when I say this, it still has that 'hot plastic' smell when turned off after running for a while.

    Nice little TV/monitor

Glossy and 1080p! Overscan can be disabled, so it can double as a 1920x1080 monitor. Has a Game mode too. Picture quality benefits from some calibration, but it's perfectly serviceable with basic adjustments. As other reviewers have said, physically it's very light, and the speakers are pretty good. All the ports are behind the left-hand side of the TV (as in the product page pictures). HDMI1 supports ARC. HDMI-CEC ("INlink") is available too. Power cord comes out the other side, about 5' long, straight 2-prong plug. Power/input button is on the bottom in the middle (the little part that sticks down). Same button to cycle through the inputs, or to turn the TV off (by holding it down). You can rename the inputs, which is nice. All caps only. There's a red light on that bottom middle part too, which is ON when the TV is off, and goes OFF when the TV is on. Distracting in a dark room, but you can just tape over it. Very happy with this purchase!

I have two of theses TVs and I am completely satisfied with both of them. The picture quality is good, which it should it be considering its small size combined with 1080p resolution. I have tweaked the settings a bit and they both look very good to me, although I don’t claim to be a videophile. One of them is connected to a PC as the third “monitor” to watch TV while on that computer. Its audio is run through a stereo receiver, so I don’t listen to that TVs speakers. The other one is in my kitchen and I have to admit that I have been pleasantly surprised by the sound. It does not sound tinny, as I expected it would. Probably an illusion, but it seems to sound better than the speakers of my 60” Samsung. The remote is functional, good sized and doesn’t look like it came with a bargain-basement TV. I can’t attest to the reliability over the long haul, but both of these TVs are used on a daily basis and have so far been trouble-free. I would not hesitate to make these purchases again.

This is my 2nd INSIGNIA TV ---the 1st (a 19 inch purchased in 2014.) My new 22 inch has excellent sound and picture quality (although when viewing from the side of the room , rather than sitting in front of the screen, the colors are somewhat faded, but the TV does NOT have a problem of some other brands of a ghostlike, extremely dark picture when viewing from the side of the room). My complaint with the product is that I wish this TV had a middle support stand (which my previous INSIGNIA had) rather than 2 support "feet" ; a middle support stand would provide more stability and prevent the TV from tipping over. I also wish the new TV had a longer electric cord so that it would not be necessary to use an extension cord. Lastly, the on-line description of the product says it includes a User's Manual---it does not; it only includes a brief Quick start instruction sheet. I attempted unsuccessfully to find a full User Manual on INSIGNIA's website and even called INSIGNIA (where I was told that the company was still in the process of preparing the manual).

Overall this is a very good HD television. Unlike others in this size and price class, this model is a full 1080p high definition (rather then the common 720p) television. The tuner is sensitive enough to pull in marginal stations, and the image quality is very good. The set has two HDMI inputs, and while not a lot, is enough to connect to a computer and DVD player. There are a few advanced features missing. For example, while there are several display modes (movie, game, standard, etc.), there is no option to individually set each color. When you consider the price, however, the features included are impressive. I use the set at both a TV and a computer monitor, and it works extremely well for both. In fact, I liked the television so much that I purchased a second one a month later. Highly recommended!

Bought this TV for my kitchen. Wanted a little smaller than a 24. Not a lot of smaller TV's to choose from these days. First off this TV has an excellent picture. I am overly picky about black levels and let me tell you this is perfect. Zero light bleeding around the edges. This is hard enough to find in expensive TV's moreless a cheaper one. Very sharp picture and more than enough ways to adjust it to how you like it. Sound is actually ok for it's size. All the connections in the back for anyway you want to set this up. If I had to complain about anything I would say it would be is the feet. Was putting this in the corner of kitchen counter and where they place the feet it stood out a little much. So I just bought a small TV stand. It mounted very simply to the back.

I bought an Insignia several years ago. Unlike most appliances/tech products, it's still going strong. When my main TV kicked the bucket after only 2 yrs. I knew I wanted to get a second Insignia. I searched until I found just what I wanted, and am very pleased with it's performance Don't know much about the tech side of things, but it's working well for what I need and am happy I stuck with this brand. Picture is very clear, audio quite acceptable. Only complaint is when changing channels or up or down audio, it tells just where one is on the channels/audio level. It's more than aggravating because it cuts out the audio from the program playing and one often misses several words. The robotic voice is undesirable as well. Only fault however.

I wanted a small TV for the kitchen. I really wanted a RokuTV. But when this 1080 22” Insignia went on sale for $59, I decided it was perfect and I could add the Roku to it. For weeks I only watched OTA TV. Then added the Roku. The picture is great. Even the 480i channels like MeTV and AntennaTV look good. But I have to brag on the ability to receive OTA channels. The built in tuner must be very sensitive. I live 55 miles away from my broadcast towers. And I am receiving my locals with a flat $15 antenna I use in my RV. I thought I would only use it for Roku since I didn’t have a way to get Locals in my kitchen. If you need a small TV for any reason, this is worth considering.

This is a great tv which can also be used as a computer monitor for a desk, kitchen, bedroom etc. There are not many televisions around this size that have 1080p resolution, and while this is not crucial for normal tv viewing, you can definitely see a huge difference when connecting a computer. As others have said also, the built in speakers are not too bad either and are actually better than the other tv's in our house. What is unique also is that the digital out on this tv is coaxial instead of the much more common toslink output. The picture is crisp for all applications, built in sound is great and the price can't be beat if you can catch it on sale!

22” with 1080p and surprisingly good sound? Check! Use antenna for watching local tv? Check! Double as a PC monitor while sitting on my computer desk, saving space? Check! (Note: go through the Video menu for the TV and turn OFF overscan. Then you will see the entire video output for the PC vs. having the edges shaved off slightly. 2 HDMI ports. so not only do I have the unit as a PC monitor, but I have my streaming device hooked up, too? Check! For space saving, multi-use, and for cheaper than a PC monitor, it was well worth it!

Excellent tv for the price. I am using as a computer monitor via HDMI and works great once you get the settings right. Picture looks good and sound via arc is excellent, nice not to need speakers for the pc. Was on sale for $69, cant beat it for full 1080 resolution. I dont really do gaming on this computer, not sure the response time would be great for that but for pic and video editing with email, net surfing, and spreadsheets it works well. Streamed a few movies on it via windows netflix app and looked great. All in all seems like a great value.

Got it for a decent price and thought it would be adequate but upon usage realized that it will be too small for the intended purpose. However, it will have to make do till next sale. The image quality is great - used it to play PS4 games, and kids did not complain about lag etc. Audio quality was not tested to it's limit, so will defer commenting on that. Have yet to hook up the TV antenna and test out the tuner component and may modify this review at that time. Overall, if the size fits your purpose, you won't regret it.

I bought this model 1 1/2 years ago. I use it on my covered patio and cover it with a plastic bag when rain threatens. Twice I knocked it off the table onto concrete; I got lucky and it suffered no damage! Great picture w/1080. The two HDMI ports made DVD and ROKU always available. After buying it, I installed a cheap outdoor antennae, and get all but NBC free (I don't have cable; too $$$$). If I finally destroy it, I will buy it again.

A delightful small television set that I'm actually using as a computer monitor. It's functional, has sound, and works wonderfully with my Mac Mini. The HDMI cable makes it easy to just have one plug-in from computer to TV, no extra speakers necessary, unless you prefer the sweet sultry sounds of a brand new sound bar. It probably has other neat features and stuff too, but I haven't delved into it too deeply. I'm enjoying it as is. It works, no bells and whistles necessary.

Got this tv for $69.99 on sale for Black Friday Weekend. No WiFi, no special features. Just 1080p Full HD and a great pair of speakers for an insanely good price. The picture is amazing for a small tv. Only 60hz and not 120 but for the price again you cannot beat. Got two of these tv's for a bedroom. If you need a great tv and do not want to spend a ton of money and do not need all the "smart tv" features, this is it.

After reading reviews of those that used this as a monitor, I purchased this to use as a monitor. All my TVs I have owned have been Insignia so I thought it would be of a good quality. However, the picture quality was subpar and no amount of fiddling with the settings made it any better. I would not recommend this for use as a computer monitor. As a TV it would maybe be OK but it definitaly does not have the same picture quality of my other Insignia TVs.

Bought this to replace a computer/ TV screen that was smaller and only got 11 channels of on air TV. this television gets 43 channels and the sound is amazing! sounds a lot better than my smart tv. Fits perfect in the kitchen under the cabinet and the picture is very clear. On widny days most of our other TV pixel and hesitate but this has a 100% signal almost all the time. I woudl recommend this even at a higher price!

Surprisingly, this 1080p TV has a nice picture and an excellent sound. It does not have that "tinny" cheesy sound coming from it. I paired it with my cable box (Xfinity), which I mounted under the counter with a small swivel mount for the TV so I can pull it out or have it closer to the backsplash.
