I purchased this TV for my Daughter's birthday to replace the old TV that was in her room. I was originally looking for a Sony TV because that is what I have, then I stumbled across this TV. I was amazed how light this TV is. Set up was easy, picture quality is great and the sound quality is amazing. This TV was packed well in the box. After setting up, I quickly learned that this TV has the same sound and picture quality as more expensive name brand TV's.

Good TV, not what we needed for our RV

Only had the TV one night because this was being installed in a bedroom in our RV and the TV's power plug was not what we expected. At the plug end is a transformer with the plug built into it (small black box) which is somewhat heavy and the electrical outlet in our RV bedroom is in the ceiling. This plug would fall out while going down the road or possibly even when sitting still so we took back the TV and got another brand. So if you own an RV, just keep this in mind. However for other applications, the TV seemed to be very clear, easy to setup and at a good price.

Hello, although it's sad to hear that you were not able to keep the set and that you made the right choice in not installing the television as it could have gotten damaged, we appreciate your comments as we strive on them to keep improving. Have a good one! Daniel T. - Insignia Support

Easiest Set Up

Product is worth the money and has a great picture using HDMI Cable. I was set up ready to go in about 3 minutes max. Only thing that I found wrong was the mounting screws it came with to mount a wall mount, only two screws were in box and there are four holes in the back of the tv.

Excessive ghosting

The new panel has a better angles of view, but with a catch. The full depth of the color palette only available when looking straight +- 10 degree, outside of this range the color would fade out, but stay constant. The previous model NS-24D510NA15 had TN panel and does change brightness slightly depending on angle of view, but the colors depth remains the same. I think it is better, because of our brain could compensate for overall brightness level change, but not for reduced color reproduction. Also, the real deal breaker - the new panel is very slow (6.5ms by specs, but more like 15ms). As a result, it causes excessive ghosting on fast moving, high contrast objects or patterns when panning. This is very annoying for some to overcome. I ended up buying older model from the store display and like its picture more. It also has better integration with mobile devices and Roku stick. Looks like this TV is a step back or at least, in the wrong direction.

Cannot hook HDMI up to PC and get 1080p

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS TV IF YOU WANT 1080P QUALITY FROM YOUR PC THRU HDMI. Very, very disappointing. All the awesome reviews convinced me to purchase this. Hooked this up to my Dell computer with HDMI and the picture was horrible. Switched the overscan to off and the still horrible picture was now no longer cropped on the edges. With the exact same setup, replaced the TV with a 24" LG 1080P TV and the picture was flawless. I sent a note directly to Insignia and they had no fix. The picture from antenna was awesome, but it is useless as a computer monitor. Anyone stupid enough to hook this to a computer thru the VGA connector (PC input) is a fool; why buy a digital TV and hook your PC up thru an outdated analog (VGA) cable, that's crazy-talk. It blows my mind that there a few reviews describing this. There are many threads at various forums describe this problem clearly, with no solutions. I am returning the TV.

One Bad Pixel

My wife and I went through three of these TVs for a monitor. As soon as we plugged it into the wall and turn it on, one of the pixels malfunctioned. When the dark colors where being displayed on the screen one pixel per TV would be green, pink, or turquoise. I would have preferred this for a monitor over other TVs and monitors because it displayed text clearly, had its own volume, 1080p, and could have been used for an actually TV. My wife and I have this brand already and it works perfectly. This is why we tried three different time with this size.

Great Little TV

Though I am not using it for high content viewing it does its job well. I use it mostly as a monitor for video recording through hdmi and it hasnt disappointed me yet. I looked at some amazon content on it through my chromcast and though the quality isnt top notch (mostly black levels) it did play well enough and clear enough to be worth the price

Great picture, really bad sound

I bought a 28 inch Insignia TV last month and was surprised how good the audio sounded. So I was surprised to hear how bad this tv sounds. I mean my 1960s AM handheld radio sounds way better than this TV. They obviously went cheap on the speakers on this one. Just be advised and plan on a cheap sound bar.

This TV replaced a previous TV due to poor reception. This TV is wonderful and I haven't had any reception problems. I use an antenna. I am amazed at the quality of the picture and sound. I had to add speakers to the previous TV to get a quality sound , but this one has good sound without any additional speakers.

The quality of the picture is good. My only issue is the location of the audio video ports, underneath and close to the frame, which make it difficult to get a secure connection.
