Cute little tv, great space saver and works perfectly for the guest bedroom. Quality of picture is great, hate to have to log in to prime, but it is a firetv afterall...luckily we have a roku stick so really we dont need the amazon video logins anyhow. Overall cheap price doesn't compromise on picture quality.

TV is great. Alexa interface and ability to interface with Xfinity bad. Awesome picture, good sound.. However it can't detect any channels through Xfinity even HDMI or coaxial cable. Bought this hoping to interface with Alexa for my blind mother but other than turning the TV on or off it doesn't work. Even then it often loses its internet even as everything else in the house is fine. In effect have to use both Xfinity and TV remotes for all functions.

Installed the TV on a 4 feet tall half wall, 7 inches deep, so it is not hanging over the edges, front or back(separates kitchen and dining room). I ran the soundbar HDMI ARC output to an ARC audio extractor to a Chinese tube buffer to a pair of Sabaj monoblock amplifiers, which drive a pair of bookshelf speakers. Simultaneously, there is a coaxial digital output from the extractor to a DAC/Tube preamp/Emotiva amplifier/Bose 901 speaker system with equalizer, plus a REL 12" powered subwoofer. Getting clean, tight base and nice high frequencies, plus lots of mid-bass warmth on the Bose 901s, from this TV as a source.

You don't buy Insignia when looking for outstanding extra features or breathtaking performance. You buy it for the price, not to mention the fact that most of what BestBuy sells under this label are adequate examples of the product in question. This TV fits that bill perfectly. It is a smart TV. It does what a smart TV must do and nothing more. You got apps, you got a screen, you got a decent 1080p picture. All for a good price. I use it as a monitor for my PC, given I cannot afford anything higher-end at the moment. It serves this purpose perfectly. Audio from the speakers is perfectly fine for me, and it's a good size to fit right on my desk. I don't need the smart features, but I've used them when I don't feel like booting up the PC. They work just fine. Not too sluggish with menu navigation. Overall? It's a TV. It won't be the centerpiece of your home theater setup, but it was never meant to be. For a separate bedroom? A child's TV? A PC monitor when you can't afford anything better? It will suit these places perfectly.

I am remodeling a farmhouse and do not have WIFI activated. I wanted a small tv to view OTA channels. I bought the 24inch F20. I LOVE it. Out of the box, connected the OTA antenna, scanned and found 9 channels without even positioning the antenna. Picture is bright, sharp and no lag. I agree with others, the sound could be louder. But sitting on the kitchen island, it works for me. I highly recommend this tv. A great buy.

The TV's picture is great for its size. Although small, this TV fits well where it was needed. The only partially negative issue I see with a Fire TV is that it defaults to the Amazon default Prime Video dashboard when it is turned on. To switch to my regular cable service, I have to just go to Inputs and select my HDMI cable port and it immediately switches to my cable service, DVR, etc.

Bought this to replace a 15 year old 26" flat screen that finally kicked the bucket. Great picture, sound is very good. My only gripe is the Fire TV user interface. I really don't like it, it's not very intuitive, and I have to go through too many steps to get to the channels that I've added. It's too busy with "suggestions" of things to watch. I'd rather see my installed streaming service apps first, and "suggestions" second. If that were the case, I'd give it 5 stars instead of 4. Maybe with time I'll get more used to it. I'd still recommend this Insignia TV though, especially if you can find it on sale.

I purchased this TV to have over my workbench in my garage and it's been perfect in that role. I was looking for a unit with smart-features (which is almost every TV released nowadays), compact but usable, and cheap since it's primarily there to give me some background noise while I'm working on projects. In the same vein, if you're hunting for a compact TV that won't break the bank, I could see a niche uses such as a kitchen, bathroom, etc. It's been steady and reliable over the last 11 months. I'm in Vegas, so it gets toasty in the summer and brisk in the winters. This has held up through all of it so far. No software or hardware issues. I have been strictly been running the smart apps directly off the TV. I have played content through Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, YouTube, Disney+, MAX (formerly HBO Max), Discovery+ (now MAX), Paramount+, Peacock, and a few others with no issues. Navigating the interface is slower than what I would prefer, but on par with any TV at this price point. Once you start playing your content, it will play beautifully. This is a 1080p resolution TV, which is what most of the world was on for a better part of a decade (many still are) whether it was a TV, desktop computer monitor, or laptop. Let's face it - if crisp, crystal-clear, color accurate & popping picture quality is at the top of your want list then the under $150 price point isn't going to be what you are looking at. The picture quality is more than adequate for the money spent and the smaller screen size definitely helps with that. The lower resolution (compared to a 4K TV) means you will need less internet speed/bandwidth for content to play smoothly, so you may find that this plays more reliably if you live in area with slower internet speeds or if the TV is going in an area of your house where the wireless coverage isn't as strong. I was surprised at how loud the TV could get. I went in thinking that it wouldn't be usable without an external speaker, but even at 70% volume it was more than enough volume to fill a two car garage so if you're using it in a smaller space, it should be more than enough volume. If you have an external speaker you can connect to it, it will be an audio upgrade like it is for most TVs. It is bluetooth capable. I connected a Bose SoundLink Revolve 2 to it for fun and pairing went without a hitch. Never had any issues with reconnecting every time I went to use to it. Also equipped with AirPlay. I can screen mirror from my iPhone with no issues. That's the gist how I use the TV and after (almost) a year, feel like it's a strong value for its price. TVs are always going on sale so if there's nice discount being applied to the TV, it's a no-brainer to pick it up if you have the right use case for it. Even at full price I wouldn't think twice about picking one up.

Go this on sale dirt cheap. I use it in my basement to stream workouts from various apps. Decent sound and video clarity for a cheap price. Easy to connect to wifi and other setup was quick and easy. I wouldn't use this a my main TV, but its good for occasional use. The Fire TV system is easy to operate/navigate.

I really just needed a tiny tv for the bedroom and this was perfect! Only $100 on sale, with all the apps I could ever need. Still trying to figure out the cable situation because you sort of need to back channel into the spectrum app which isn’t searchable… but I’m sure it’ll work itself out.

This Tv is excellent for an office or kitchen to allow you to listen while you are working. Clear sharp picture. With the remote you can set it to your needs. Also comes with 1080p picture. The legs are spread out to the sides. If you are putting it on a small table area, I would get a tv stand that rises the screen and secures the TV with the center foot attachment that mounts in the back of unit

Decent but too basic 'sorta smart' TV

We got on sale at a really great price, so I can say this is a very decent basic TV for the money. This was purchased to replace a very 'dumb' 18 year old 12" CRT Sansui in the kitchen/breakfast area that did have a very good picture and digital tuner. So since we're spoiled with our Smart theater TV, we wanted a small & smart TV with at least the same quality tuner and picture.  This Insignia was on sale at about 60% of the price of the Sansui (inflation adjusted) with a better tuner and a larger picture which is not appreciably better in resolution or color quality. It is smarter, but that doesn't say much, does it!   Decent Basic TV........                CheckDecent picture ..........                CheckGood sound quality ...               CheckApps on board for streaming ..  CheckEasy to download additional apps ...  CheckAlso Easy to set up and mount Functionally "Smart" as TVs go ...   FAIL First thing that is maddening is that the TV doesn't come with a user manual, so you have to go on line. Fine. But the manual is barely any better at giving the user more useful, functional information than the "Quick Start" Guide in the box, which doesn't have much info beyond what any experienced tech user older than 10 years old would be right at home with. We are 70 ... the  "Quick Start" guide didn't tell us anything we didn't already have experience with, even with regard to the specifics of this TV.  Lesson here is that the "Quick Start" guide does practically nothing to help with the specific functions and quirks of this Amazon TV! And neither does the 28 page "User Manual" online! This said, a cavete for our experience is what kind of quality we have been using.  Our other primary TVs are 2 older "dumb" 34" TVs; a Sony and similar LG; and a VERY smart 7 year old 75" Sony XBR in our 'theater'.  No comparisons to any of these in picture quality, but again FOR THE MONEY, a nice tv with a reasonably good picture.  The sound is very good for this level TV, we are amazed at that.  But the only smart TV we have real experience with is the XBR and  ...  this Insignia is NO comparison. The Amazon Fire tv platform is horrible and more difficult to navigate.  We haven't been able to find ANY information on how to cast our Android phones and tablets to this TV.  We do it all the time, VERY simply on the XBR (which runs on Android OS) and using Chrome cast on the "DUMB" 34" Sony.  Chromecast works perfectly to add some intelligence to this Insignia when I borrow it from the small 'dumb' Sony and plug it in.  Apparently need to also purchase a Chromecast to have this function. But there is no reasonably simple means to find helpful information to help with this to make this "smart" Insignia work.  I've tried downloading several apps, none of which seem to do the trick.  That may be a function of my lack of tech savvy, but there should be a work around for this. Ah wait, my wife had similar issues with Amazon Fire tablets when she couldn't do many things without doing a side load of "unapproved apps" to allow it work in the greater world. If this is a known deficiency of the TV, why doesn't it come with information to point the new owner to a solution? I'll likely go into Best Buy and talk to a 'Geek'!  Why do we have to depend on Google to use this normal function that most smart TVs have really work? There are many functions sourced though settings that are seemingly limited (although that may be because the manufacturer has just failed to tell us how to access the function).  An example is that the picture quality has very basic and incomplete adjustment capability.  So you can make some adjustments, but insufficient for complete color rendition. The old Sansui allowed for more, as do our Sonys and LG.   The remote is very, very basic and wants/expects you to use the voice function for many functions. Couldn't find any mechanism or on screen direction to put it into CC .. Then before throwing the remote at the TV, we tried the voice function. Bingo! that did it. But there is no information anywhere that we can find that tells you bits of information like this.  You must to use voice to go straight to a specific TV channel rather than waste time scrolling through the 'guide' screen. But that is left to the user to figure out too. I'd prefer # keys on the remote for this.  We haven't tried speaking "go to H..L" into the remote!   It would probably cancel our Prime Account!
