It is NOT a Smart TV so it does require a cableTV connection or a streaming service box for Internet access, but you can also just connect an antenna for local off-air channels. I use it with a DVD player connected via an HDMI cable.

I wanted a small TV to have in there while working so i could have the news of something else going. Picture is decent, but the sound is not the best. I have to turn it way up to hear well and its only less than 6feet from me.

We wanted a computer monitor for our daughter, but she wanted speakers, so we opted for a tv instead. It fits her space perfectly and exactly what she was looking for.
