Terrible policy on defective items

But my bigger issue is when I went into the store to exchange it under the one year warranty instead of replacing the item I was told they would send it out to be repaired which can take 6-8 weeks. You should never punish your customer for you selling a defective item. I should have been given an exchange then and there and you send the defective one out to be fixed and sell it as a refurbished item when it comes back. Now I have to go up to two months without a television because of this absurd policy.
