I bought this for the value but returned within a week as I had a faulty unit. Replaced with Kitchen Aid and would spend more money again as the difference is night and day. Would avoid this product.

This dishwasher came banged up with 3 dings on the front of it. The gauge of the metal is very thin. This dishwasher is cheaply made. Returning it ASAP!

The pipe that came out of the dishwasher wouldn’t match up to anything. When we finally got it hooked up, water was looking out of the motor and flooded my kitchen. It was pretty but not usable.

This Dishwasher is amazing for the price! It I cannot believe how quiet it is. I started it and did not tell my wife it was running. I asked her if she could hear that noise and she said what noise.
Now on the cleaning. I am very impressed with how clean my pots and pans turned out. It had no problem cleaning up after Thanks giving dinner.
Bottom line this Dishwasher cleans like $800-$900 Dishwasher.
Stainless steel both inside and out and 3 racks.
Oh and this thing has LED lights on the inside which makes is super easy to see inside of it.

4yrs later Quiet but not for longevity

We have had this dishwasher for 4 yrs now. I measure things mostly by how much maintenance and repairs are needed. This dishwasher is good out the gate but they are not built for longevity IMO, probably like most dishwashers now though. So far the control has some issues. The heated dry light is gone out and the display code panel has some dead LEDS. It is not the best at drying dishes either, again probably like most dishwashers now I imagine with the water saving and energy restrictions put on manufacturers. The jet dry dispenser has been clogged almost from the beginning, which is a necessity now to get dishes dry. With some strategy and tips from the manul by loading the plastic, metal and glassware dishes a certain way and leaving the door cracked after finished will facilitate complete drying. But like most families good luck getting everyone in the household to do that lol. Granted the jet dry issue could been one of our kids putting wrong detergent in it at some point. Not sure.

I wasn't sure about the product as I don't know who the main manufacturer of insigna/bestbuy is. After much research it appears to be Midea. Midea is a large Asian company which makes parts for a # of companies and makes dishwashers themselves. I decided to give it a try.
After receiving and installing the washer I noticed a small dent in the door and on the first use the product wouldn't drain the water from the tub which caused it to start to come out the door on the floor. Luckily the washer stopped and sounded an alarm. It was frustrating to say the least.
I exchanged it and got the new one hooked up, luckily everything works on this one. It is quit but no completely silent at 46 db, but better than our old whirlpool. Overall cleans well and has some nice features which would have cost much more on any other washer. The black SS is very nice and one can not tell any difference in the quality of this and maybe a Bosch or kitchen aid as far as looks. I do wish the racks were a little bit smoother but again really can't complain. The 3stars are based off the first issues I had with the first one and the racks not being as smooth as LG.

Firstly, the apperance is very nice, the stainless steel material bar hand ,outer door , inner door and the whole tub, not like other plastic tub dishwasher, it's amazing value.
secondly, the washing performance is quiet and clean, the whole stainless steel tub make it no peculiar smell, the drying performance is good when you choose the heated dry option.
At last, i belive insignia brand wii give me a superise and hope.

Cleans well

All the reviews are correct about blowing the breaker and having to reset breaker. It’s so moody about turning on. My 13 year old is the dishwasher and he pushes all the right buttons but it doesn’t turn on. You have to open it & make sure lights are flashing before it works, but you don’t know that until you shut the door. It is quiet. Mostly it cleans them well although sometimes if you load it with tall items it won’t dissolve the pod. The set up on the racks is different. I always read reviews and this time I just went in and bought one, never again.

I've had this for about three weeks. Observations so far.
Pros
Cleans well, price, light inside, third rack allows you to remove lower rack utensil holder for more room, able to adjust amount of rinse agent used, quiet
Cons
Buttons sensitive, need to use child lock if you have kids for sure, time indicator goes off once cycle starts
Appliances just don't last like they used to. I make sure to read reviews and research the best i can for the appliance that has the features I want for the best price. I purchase extended warranties for everything and it has definitely paid off. I would rather get an insignia and get an extended warranty thanes spend extra 100 bux for something not guaranteed to last any longer. My LG went after 4 years anyway. We will see if the insignia is cheaper due to inferior product or elimination of middle man but I am covered with warranty. From what I've read you should not rinse dishes before putting in because cleaning agent works with food enzymes. Overall I feel it cleans and dries well and has a great combination of features.

Just got this delivered yesterday and it looks/washes great. I love the light inside to help me see everything I'm putting in. I got one rinse and wash cycle out of it though and now I cannot use it. I'm getting a replacement delivered next week, so I'll update to 4 stars if that goes well, but I can't give 5 stars because of a simple design flaw.
The one problem I have is with the screws that are supposed to anchor the thing to the underside of your counter. Instead of having a flat top, the screws have a dome to them. This resulted in the screws scratching the control panel right on the start button when I closed the door. Since the control panel is touch sensitive, the scratch is being recognized by the computer as a button press for some reason, so it's not recognizing when we actually push the start button because it's throwing an error for the button being pushed for 30+ seconds. They should've included flat-top screws to use for this so they're lower profile since there is so little space there.

Good features and price; build quality is lacking

I purchased this unit after some researching, and took a bit of a chance, since it's fairly new, a house brand, and has limited reviews and reliability ratings. This is the Best Buy house brand (Insignia).
The features are good; interior lighting, adjustable and removable racks, top (3rd) rack for silverware, removable silverware rack, steam wash, sanitize, multi-cycle, etc. The biggest feature gripe I have is that you can choose only 1 cycle option. Cycle options include vortex wash (dedicated vortex outlet in the back-left of the unit, to direct higher-pressure spray to a particularly grimy item), steam wash, high-temp wash, and sanitizer rinse. So, if you should need the vortex wash and also wish to sanitize, no luck, how about sanitize and steam wash...nope...maybe vortex and high-temp wash, nada. Pick one, and only one. You CAN select the no-heat dry for most cycles, as well as the "air exchange" which cycles air in and out of the unit to keep it from getting stale, I assume.
Build quality is a step or two below the big brands, but you'd pay a lot more for them. The racks, rollers, spray arms, sheet metal...all flimsier than other brands. Again, for the features, it's a tradeoff, as the feature set is very good. It'll remain to be seen how well this unit will hold up.
So, if you want a good feature set, with some limitations on how you use those features, a lower build quality, but a good price and good performance, this may be a good option.
