Cable was plenty long enough, and very durable to handle some roughing with. Haven't had a single problem.

(It's a small house, and the router is in the living room close to where I usually sit.) Connecting our chromebooks to the internet is easy, and the internet connection is stable at all times (other than when it is interrupted outside our home, for instance, when the line was taken down with a tree falling across our neighbors' back yard). The cable plugs into the back of the router, and into the chromebook via the USB adapter. We have three of these cables set up, in 15', 25' and 50' lengths, and the 50' cable goes anywhere I need to go in the house while maintaining my connection. (And yes, the symptoms stopped.) If you want to turn off your wi-fi, this is what to use.
