It worked very well for that purpose. The cable is lightweight and easy to deploy. The cable was inexpensive and no glitches in the ethernet signal.

Simple solution to all my problems .

I'd been renting two router extenders from my cable company to try to get better internet connectivity on the second floor of my old house. (I've been told the old ones have a horsehair batting inside the walls that obstructs transmission.) I'd heard the term "ethernet" and was intrigued, so I ordered a cable from Best Buy. It was simple to put in: one end goes in router, the other in the second floor computer, and I had all the speed I needed. Granted, the job was made a little simpler by the fact I knew where holes has been drilled years ago to bring the previous cables up, but it's worth figuring out.
