I personally used mine t run an Ethernet drop from my office to my living room as I was having connectivity issues with WiFi. From the living room I have a wired wireless range extender and a 5 port switch which feeds my Roku, HTPC, and PS4. Overall, I couldn't ask for anything else, it just works, albeit its a tad bit on the pricey side, but I needed it right away and best buy had it in stock.
