    It's an usb c 3.2 gen 2 cable which will allow you to have faster transfer speeds if you have for example an android phone with an USB c port or if you need it for a VR headset. Your computer should obviously have an USB C port.

    Just got a new iMac 24”. All its inputs are C type connectors. I use this cable to by pass my hub and connect an external 2 gig sad drive directly to the iMac. Cable works great.

    I bought this to connect a wise 1tb ssd 3.1 gen 2 to a bmpc4k camera and it works. The only downside is the length being too long but some tape and it was good
