Just the right size for family in apartment living

Perfect size for a family of 3-4. Since we often found ourselves out of freezer space after a trip to Costco.....and 2nd wave of pandemic showing itself....we decided on a separate freezer. Fits nicely in an apartment. VERY quiet!!! My AC makes alot more noise than this freezer, even my french door fridge makes more noise. Well worth the price (I paid under $200). Brought it home, let it settle per instructions, then plugged it into it's own outlet per manuel recommendation. It was cold within a few hours, I stocked it next day. Didn't give it 5 stars because it took time to find the right temperature to set it at, no light inside so sometimes tough to find things. I expected to have to dig down for stuff, but reviews said chest was better than front door type.

I keep a fair amount of frozen foods on hand and needed room for what I get from the grocery store and wholesalers as well as fruit that I pick in season. This freezer works really well for a single person or couples needs (or a family that doesn't keep much on hand). It does form some frost, but in a month of use it is quite minimal. Very light weight and I was able to carry this up several flights of stairs with the help of one other person (as equally height challenged as myself).

We really needed a small freezer. There was a 5 cu/ft model on display, but it was a bit too big. The sales associate told us about this 3 cu/ft model. Works great. Adjustable temp, very quiet.

If you've got a very minimal amount of space (as I do) this is a great little freezer. It's relatively quiet, keeps the food frozen easily down to -4F, and holds quite a lot if you pack carefully. I bought this to replace a similar one I had for 11 years, and BB's price was the best around. Also the people at BB Hartsdale were extremely helpful in loading the car. Unfortunately, I couldn't bring them home with me to help getting it down the stairs into the basement ; )

Works well, wiht a couple issues

This freezer works well and is reasonably priced. One complaint is that about half of the right side is covered with labels and a vent (see picture), so if you care what the side of the freezer looks like, that's a problem. It's unclear why the manufacturer didn't put all that on the back side. Another complaint is that the freezer's exterior had a couple of dents when new.

This freezer allows us to augment our storage capacity for frozen items while we keep our functional, but older fridge, The unit is compact, quiet, and provides great access to whatever we need. It fits into a corner of our kitchen without cramping our mobility in our small kitchen.

Great little freezer chest. Big enough for a small family to store those extra emergency frozen food items. Also great for popsicles and ice cream that you don’t want your kids to see in the main refrigerator. Also easy setup. Easy defrost. Also super quiet compared to the main refrigerator/ freezer. Nice temperature switch to control temp setting and a blue led light next to it to make sure you know it is working. Highly recommend.

I purchased this freezer because I was sick and tired of all of my frozen items getting freezer burned in my current attached-to-the-fridge freezer. This little guy works great, keeps my ice cream cold, my meat frozen, and its got a ton of space for being so small. He's quiet for the most part (sometimes there is a bit of a weird rattling nose, but that has mostly stopped since it got to temperature). Overall, very satisfied.

I love this freezer - it solved a huge problem and it fit perfectly in my basement. It is very quiet, you hardly know it's on. Small enough to fit in a small space, and you can't beat the storage. I have two dogs and I get 2 months per dog worth of their human grade quality food delivered bi-monthly. In addition I purchase my meats, through a subscription bi-monthly, and still have plenty of room for more. Great purchase, I highly recommend it.

I've always wanted a chest freezer this size. It's perfect, not too big, not too small. I was able to fit it into my small car and get it home without any problems by myself. I have it on the mid setting and it's very cold. It's a very sleek but simple design. It's super quiet, even more so than my refrigerator freezer. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is I'm not sure how reliable it will be and how long it will last. I'm hoping for years. It doesn't say much in the way of care other than keep it in a cool spot and dust free. I'd assume it should be defrosted from time to time as well. I read some peoples reviews about it going out which made me nervous but it's always the case that it could happen with any product. Insignia isn't a name brand I know like GE but overall, very happy with my purchase so far & best buy offers a 5 year warranty so I'm pleased with that.

    Great Product - Major Dent

Love this freezer! Needed a small, but not *too* small chest freezer for my rental house and this fit the bill. Fits perfectly in the one space I had available, works great several month later, have had do no maintenance to it, and was easy to use right out of the box. Now the major con - I picked this up curbside and one side has a major dent in it. Thankfully it's positioned in a way that you don't notice it, and it doesn't affect the mechanics at all, but I picked it up curbside hoping to AVOID that issue that is repeatedly mentioned in other reviews.

Worked flawlessly out of the box. It is not too heavy that one person cannot carry down the stairs to a basement. Only drawback is it is not frost free. It does have a plug to make it easier to defrost. Will wait until winter so I can put the contents in a cooler outside to do it.

Had to buy this freezer in a pinch. So glad I chose this model. It was reasonably priced under $200.00 USD, easy to transport and simple to set-up. Within a few hours it was cold. The adjustable setting allows for cool or very cold output. It was able to handle all the frozen items from a side-by-side refrigerator/freezer combo. Used the freezer indoors, without the need for drainage. Standard wall outlet. A good purchase, available from Best Buy.

I didn't think I'd like this freezer when it was delivered. It appeared too small to hold any significant amount of food but boy was I wrong! This little freezer holds more than enough for me and it doesn't take up much room in my garage, and its quiet. Would definitely recommend for singles, a couple, or a family of five or less. Not to mention the price practically makes it a steal.

    Good smaller freezer

Seems to be a good smaller freezer. Probably best for two to four people. It does produce a rather loud clicking noise when the freezing cycle comes on then off. There also is a small amount of frost buildup below where the basket sits. Possibly a very small air leak at that location. Medium setting seems to be fine for getting the freezer to a good temperature. We use small plastic boxes (shoe box size) to contain like items such as hamburger, steak, veggies to help with organization rather than rummaging around in the deepest part of the chest.

I wanted a freezer to essentially double the space that I had with the freezer that is built into my refrigerator. It's a nice size and it pretty quiet. It keeps a fairly constant temperature, though I had to adjust the setting from the default (6 o'clock) to more like 4:30 to get 0 degrees. The only issue I have so far is that the lid has a vent hole in the seal that causes ice to build up under it.
