    Freezer stopped working, less than 1 year's use

    Freezer stopped working just before 1 year's warranty was up! Blue light was lit as I checked it weekly. The freezer stopped working sometime after Jan. 1, 2024. Freezer was only opened bi-monthly to ensure it was working properly. Unfortunately, I lost all of the food when freezer was opened in March for check. Food had decayed, leading me to believe freezer had not been working for at least 2 months. As the purchase date was late January 2023, my warranty had expired. The blue light was still lit, giving no indication that unit was not working. Freezer was indoors, no temperature fluctuations to affect performance. Very disappointed in the quality of the product. Never have I had a freezer not last a year. My neighbors have a 25-year-old unit that still works perfectly.

    Lid doesnt shut correctly and the hinge keeps popping off, re aligned the hinge and keep a case of waters on top for the lid to stay shut completely.

    Extremely Disappointed – Flimsy Construction After

    I really wanted to like this product, but I’m extremely disappointed. After just 3 weeks of light use (mostly sitting while I was moving), the bottom already has a hole in it. The base feels like cheap aluminum foil—not sturdy or durable at all. For the price, I expected much better quality. To make matters worse, the nearest Best Buy is 45 miles away, so returning it is a huge hassle. Very frustrating experience. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone looking for something that lasts.

    Distinct and oud constant ringing noise

    I should have known the price was too good to be true. $60 less than the next brand for the same size. Looks great. Cools efficient, but unfortunately it makes a distinctive ringing noise constantly. Sounds like a bad case of tinnitus. A google search for "insignia garage fridge noise" comes across many post confirming the same thing. I will be returning this soon, as I ordered another brand from Amazon. If you can keep this in the garage and not have to be around it, it will do what its supposed to. The noise is a deal breaker for me.

    I haven't had the product more then six months before i stopped working. Because it was still under warrant i took it back to the store. Before doing so i called over the phone and was told that it will be replaced. Once i got the the store i was informed that freezer will have to be sent off for repairs, Its been months and no one ever called nor email any updated about me freezer, I evenly called customer service and was told that the freezer was sent back to the store since Sept 11,2024. Now the store is saying that the freezer was unsanitary and cant be repaired. So now i am out of my money and freezer since the warranty is now expired.

    Will die on you in less than a year

    It was a great freezer until it wasn’t. I have owned two of these and the first died after 4 months and the second lasted just over a year. If you only need it for a year it’s a great purchase. Comes out to $16 a month plus all the food you lose when it dies and you have no clue until you lost everything,

    Unit died in less than 18 months. For the first few months my freezer seemed fine, but it seemed to go downhill quickly following then. It would click on and off repeatedly for long periods of time, and then eventually turn on but I was not confident in the unit. It finally died about 16 months in. It was in my garage the whole time and not exposed the elements or extreme heat. Do not recommend and disappointed, and the first appliance Ive ever purchased that that couldn't make it over at least 2 years.

    TRASH! Had this freezer for 10 months and it suddenly stopped working. Lights are still on like it's doing it's job but clearly, it's not. It had $100+ of gluten free food in it when it decided to quit. I will never purchase this brand again. To all who are considering this unit...I wouldn't purchase this item unless you're okay with surprises like room temperature food in your freezer!

    Worked great for a year, then not so much.

    It only lasted 1 year before the compressor stopped running. One week prior to its final demise , it stopped running for about a day and then it Started working. We thought it someone knocked the switch or one of the kids left the lid open. We checked it for a few days after with no issues, everything was frozen. This week it died and I noticed when I opened it and it had a smell. Found everything was thawed out and bad. No joy!

    Stopped freezing just outside warranty time

    We scrupulously followed the set-up instructions. But about 4 months after the 1-year warranty ran out, the freezer stopped freezing, and destroyed about $100 worth of food. Despite all the troubleshooting, it is maybe as cold as a refrigerator now, at the MAX setting. So we paid about $200 for the unit, lost about $100 in food and now will have to pay $50 for the privilege of driving it over and leaving it at our municipal recycling site.

    Purchased this small chest freezer on a whim due to refrigerator/freezer going out on a weekend and to keep from loosing all my frozen items. Got the freezer home and waited a few hours to plug up. Plugged up and it felt like it was getting cold so transferred everything to this freezer under the impression that it would continue to get cold and freeze. The next day, all items were completely thawed and freezer was still just standing at a “cold” temperature.
