Bought one of these and it didn't work right from the start. Transferred drive from an old usb 2.0 case. All three pc's I own would not recognize drive in the case. Return case to Best Buy and was given a new one, no questions asked. Second case worked immediately and write speeds were around 100 MB/sec! Bought another and it works great as well. I guess the first one I bought was just a lemon, which can happen from time to time. Have had both cases for about a month now and they work great!

Our old computer died but I needed to be able to pull data off of the HD and on to the new computer. I backup the most important items but not everything, so this was the perfect solution. My old HD was 1T and was easily removed, slipped into the sleeve, and plugs into the new computer to transfer data. Once all the data was saved, I formatted the old HD and use it as a back up now.

This USB enclosure allows you to insert any standard size for desktop PC) SATA internal hard drive and connect it to your PC. GB to GB, the internal drive is much cheaper. For example, a 2 TB internal drive costs around $100, while a 2 TB external typically cost about $150.00. I just put different internal drives in the enclosure to back up my different computers. And the PC internal disk drive is much more robust than the hard drives found inside a typical external drive.

Easy setup and no problems at all, it';s a bit bulky but I guess that is to be expected for these larger drives?

Great hard drive case if you plan on getting rough with it. Easy install of the drive.

I purchased this to recover some files off of an old hard drive for a family member and I wasn't in the mood to mount it in my pc case. The drive mounted inside the enclosure without issue, was recognized by both bios & windows immediately, and had full usb 3.0 speeds. I recovered the files and then ran it with a linux based hard drive wipe program overnight and it didn't seem to get too hot despite not having any active cooling.

This is a well designed & built aluminum enclosure. Kit includes all necessary items. It was easy to install the hard drive and it worked on first startup. The only small criticism is that the case lacks any type of base to stabilize the enclosure in an upright position. Without a base, the enclosure in upright position could easily be knocked over causing damage to hard drive. Lying on it's side it consumes more space on your desk.

This is a great enclosure for the price. Easy to assemble and reliable so far.

I had four hard drives from two defunct computers that had data that I wanted to retrieve. This drive enclosure made that a simple task. Installation was extremely easy. The included USB 3.0 cable saved me a trip to the store. Five stars for this product.

Hard drive enclosure. I like this purchase my computer went bad and I needed this enclosure so that I could transfer my files from my old computer which didn't work anymore. I am very happy with this purchase and it did what it was supposed to do. It is very easy to hook up any instructions are very easy to follow. I would recommend this product to anyone that needed a enclosure.

I am using this with a seagate 4tb hard drive attached to a WD My Cloud NAS via usb. Was simply a plug and play setup after installing the hard drive in the enclosure. Comes with all cables and screws to install the drive and even comes with a screwdriver. Works super and much better than 2.0 usb enclosures. Very simple sata connections and the screw holes lined up perfect on the seagate drive.

I bought this enclosure to house my external 1.5 terabyte hard drive that was purchased a little over a year ago and had rarely been used. For some reason the "docking station" that came with that hard drive failed despite only having been used 5 times maximum. This one does not have a docking station and seems to work much better. Swapping out the old case for this one was a breeze.

Works good. Good speed and compatible with all the hard drives I have used with it.

I had an older computer that I was looking for a PDF on the hard drive. The computer would not turn on, so I decided to purchase a hard drive enclosure. With in 10 minutes, I had the old hard drive out of the computer and in the enclosure. I hooked it up to my current computer and it worked fine. I found what I was looking for and am very happy.
