We needed a hard drive enclosure since the power button on our desktop computer broke. The hard drive enclosure was easy to get the hard drive into. It saved us from losing use of the data on our hard drive.

When my friend's computer would no longer boot, I picked this up to put her old hard drive in. This gave her an external hard drive for the computer she replaced her old computer with. She now has all her old files, photos, and music.

great enclosure to turn internal hard drives into external hard drives. It has an on/off button to turn it on and off, a light underneath the on/off switch and the enclosure does not get hot like my other one does.

This is a must for all who , for whatever reason, have old computers that still have very important files stored in their hard drive. The sales people who assisted me were very helpful and answered my questions. Thanks again

Salvaged the hard drive from a computer that died. Installed the drive into the case to allow access to all of the files on the drive. Works good, the only downside is the need to supply AC power to the case for the drive to function.

Never lose stuff off old hard drivesThis one works great. screws inside to hold in hard drive did not line up so I just super glued it to bar.Man at computer repair store told me about this.It also makes a great back up hard drive.

I needed to retrieve documents from an old computer. The Best Buy associate recommended this device as simple and inexpensive. Yes to both. You do need to remember the path where the documents were stored but it wasn't hard to figure out.

Was finally able to easily access some older drives sitting around the house that I use to store things on as backup. Always had to open the computer and set it up inside, but this enclosure does the job perfectly.

I'm techy challenged and the desktop died. My Daughter told me to buy this to save the information on the hard drive. I took the cpu apart with online instructions, removed the drive and put it in the hard drive enclosure. Being tech challenged I couldn't bring up the info on my notebook. Cue my Daughter who walked me through the process and all the data was saved. It works and many years of photos are saved. Didn't even know they made this enclosure. Service was so-so. No salespeople could help me so I stood at the Geek Squad to get answers. He reassured me I was buying the right thing, Thank you Geek Squad!

I love how easy it is to use !it was a life saver when my pc crashed and I just pulled our hard drive slide it in to this baby and plugged into my laptop and pulled all my data off and uploaded to new pc as well !

I bought this to rescue files from a hard drive that had a ruined operating system. Once that task was done it became another drive for backups. I have learned the hard way how important backups are!

I bought the case as a replacement for a 3TB Seagate drive with a broken interface. The drive fit in easily and runs quietly. It's a bit larger than the old Seagate case and not as sleek looking., but it does the job quite well.

Bought this to rescue data from a crashed hard drive after the motherboard fried out on my PC. Was able to easily retrieve my files and after formatting the hard drive I now have a storage drive from my network.

This enclosure is well made and worked well. It is faster than any of the other enclosures I bought also .. and looks great too. No problems what so ever in the assembly, easy to follow directions.

Well made hard drive case with all the connectors built in to hook up your SATA hard drive. Saved us when we needed to transfer data from a drive to a another.

Desktop is on it's last legs and I will transfer the hard drive to this case to preserve all of the files and use it as an external hard drive. This unit was recommended for this purpose by the BB associate.

I was able to remove the hard drive easily and insert it into the new case. The holes for mounting didn't match up exactly, but the case did allow access to the hard drive files.

Needed this to help remove data from my dead PC. The Insignia - 3.5 Serial ATA Hard Drive Enclosure worked perfectly and allowed me to remove the hard drive and retrieve almost all of my files.

I'm actually very impressed by this enclosure. I do not hear the hard drive within it. My Linux system has worked very well with pushing backups to the hard drive within this enclosure.

Bought this when my motherboard died on my computer. Was able to dock my hard drive out of the old computer and choose files to transfer to the new. It is now my backup hard drive.
