This is my first experience with the Insignia™ - 3.5" Serial ATA Hard Drive Enclosure. It is well made and easy to install the hard drive. Works great

I’ve used various 3.5” enclosures and this one is very well made. My only complaint is that the screwdriver included is too small for the screws to attach the drive to the carrier. I’m not going to give it a bad rating because of this. The enclosure kit comes with a small Philips screwdriver (PH 0 I think), but I found that the screws needed to attach the drive worked better with a PH 2 Phillips screwdriver. Which is a very common screwdriver size, that about anyone would have. Very well made enclosure. The aluminum construction is great

We used this to successfully attach a spare SATA drive via USB to my DVR. We move viewed recordings to this unit to free space on the DVR's internal drive.

Once again, I'm not disappointed in another "gimmic". Switching from PC to MAC was that much easier thanks to the simple plug and play ease of the HD enclosure.

This thing is solid and made well. Very easy diy instructions. Fits the hard drive perfect and protects it. Makes the perfect external hard drive.

Worked great for me, and saved thousands of photos and hundreds of documents that would have otherwise been lost. When my desktop decided to die on me, I took out the hard drive put it in the enclosure, plugged the USB into my laptop and recovered the files. My only recommendation to improve the device would be to have the cover come off without the use of the tiny screws. What I mean is, if there were raised screws that could be turned with your fingers it would be a much better device.

Solid hard drive housing for larger 5 1/4 drives. Appears to be pretty well-built and definitely does the job. Maintained a good throughput with the USB 3.0 speeds.

It's hot and noisy but it will do the job in a pinch. Not the best option available but adequate for light use

We brought our hard drive in to the geek squad to see if they could retrieve our pictures. ( we had several years worth backed up and lost them when the computer crashed. ) gotit going again and couldnt access pictures on it or hard drive. Tried hard drive on another computer with no luck . Brought it in and geek squad told us it needed a new hard drive enclosure. They installed it and it worked! !! I didnt realize it could be repaired. They told us it sometimes goes out. Saved several years of our precious pictures. Thank you. Thank you.

this machine saved my hard drive when my computer died. Worth every penny. Slides right in and fired right up . 100 stars. Thanks !!!

When my home computer died unexpectedly one day, a quick trip to best buy to pick up one of these drive enclosures and I was able to save my important files.

This was easy to use and perfectly did the trick of allowing me to pull my internal hard drive from a busted computer and recover my data. Perfect!!!!

This is totally awesome. Great price and perfect solution. I had a tower die and bought a new laptop as a replacement. Purchased this to pull data off a ssd. Totally awesome that even after this is done I was able to use it with other drives. And now I placed my largest drive in the enclosure and am using it as a network storage drive. Works on my CentOS server as well!

I have a few SATA enclosures, but this is my first USB 3. I was very impressed with the speeds which rivaled the internal drive. I need a couple more.

Just 2 screws to remove panel, mount hard drive and reinstall panel. All needed next was to plug into computer. No issues and working as expected.

took old hard drive from my old computer. put it in case and attached to my new computer. now I have a backup and all my documents and pics from my old computer

My HP desktop basically crashed and I couldn't access any files or load the OS (windows 10) it kept giving a S.M.A.R.T. read error. Removed the hard drive from my desktop and placed in the enclosure and now I have access to all of my files. Very easy installation and my new pc sees it as an external drive like a thumb or disc. Great product for the money.

Enclosure for desktop hard drive. Pro: Allows you to reuse yur hard drive for extra storage or backup. Con: It's expensive for the price.

My computer died and I used this enclosure to recover major data from 2 hard drives. Yes, I would highly recommend. This thing sets up super easy.

Did exactly what I needed it to do. I had an 8TB hdd enclosure that stopped working. Easy swap over and it's still going strong.
