I lost my computer from a lightning strike but was able to salvage all the data from the disk by purchasing this hard drive enclosure.

I was looking for a solution to use the fairly new hard drive out of my old desktop computer. This case was simple to use and simple to set up.

This enclosure replaces one that started to intermittently disconnect from my computer. I must admit that I didn't find very many enclosures designed for 3.5" SATA drives when I was looking. Installing my HD into this box was straight forward. The enclosure even came with a screw driver (which was not particularly great, but good enough for a one-time use project). My drive seems to function more quickly and is quieter with this enclosure than it was with the previous one.

I was able to connect my hard drive and seal it in the casing with no problems. My computer read it correctly and got the job done fast.

I purchased a new computer and needed to access information from an old hard drive. It was easy to connect the drive and use the product.

I had to try to salvage the drive from my failed NAS, so I purchased this USB enclosure. After downloading software so my Windows machine could read the Linux partitions, I was able to copy the files off the drive. The best part about this enclosure, the smaller laptop drives will fit, although without any way to secure the drive, I would only use that as a temporary solution.

Works great, easy to use, nice construction. I also bought the one for an old laptop hard drive I have. It works great too.

The Portable hard drive needed assembly when I returned home. Following the directions was fairly easy , the assembly took some what longer than I had expected. The very small fasteners caused the most difficulty and required the longest to complete. The end results were very satisfactory , as the portable hard drive looks like the description and the Pictures. The hard drive works as described in the instructions, and I am pleased with the unit so far. I have only used it one time, I may add more details at a later date.

I bought this product to put my old PC hard drive into. Although my PC was outdated, the hard drive was still sizable and could serve a purpose. Buying the Insignia - 3.5" Serial ATA Hard Drive Enclosure allowed me to continue to use my old PC's hard drive as additional storage or it can be converted for use as a back-up drive. Although a NASD would be a more efficient and lower risk back-up drive, the cost difference is extreme between buying and setting up a NASD versus purchasing a simple enclosure for a drive already owned.

my new TIVO would not accept my sata drive, the drive was old. this case allowed me to convert it to USB which abled me to add storage to my pc

Insignia™ - 3.5 Serial ATA Hard Drive Enclosure has sturdy aluminum housing, off/on switch, usb 3.0 and 12 volt dc external powersupply. Simple to attach HD to connectors in Enclosure. Transfered data from Insignia to my desktop as biz per usual; footprint about that of a paperback book.. only had it a few months so I can't report on longevity.

Needing to put together an ATA hard drive? Real talk this worked great. Came with screws mount tool nothing else needed.

Pop in a SATA hard drive, plug in the USB cable, then plug in the power. All you need is a small screwdriver which is enclosed.
