Bad signal

When plugged into the TV the TV remote stops working. I purchased a new remote thinking that it was bad. Then noticed that the TV would randomly turn off when the HDMI switch was plugged in. I only discovered that the HDMI switch was causing the issues I decided to move the TV and plugged a DVD player in without the switch and remote TV remote started working again and the TV stopped randomly turning off.
