It's real and it works. It's not very heavy, though. Manage your cables and placement to avoid it sticking its front in the air from the weight of whatever is plugged into it. I use it to control the input to a portable monitor switching between my laptop and Switch Dock. I weigh it down with my DS when I'm not using it.

Pros: This device is good in that it fully supports 4K and HDR pass through as advertised (my TV uses HDR10, Unable to see how compatible it is with other HDR types). There is no loss to picture quality and no added lag. Device is small enough to hide so that it is out of sight, but looks sleek enough to have out in the open. Easy to set up and all hdmi ports are located on back of device.
Cons: No remote control and no auto switching to inputs with active signal. In other words, you'll need to manually press the select button on the device to change input signals. Lights in front are bright and, therefore, may be distracting if in view. Regular asking price of $50 is a bit high for device with only 3 inputs.
Alternative: There is a similar 4k HDR switch produced by Phillips that is available from Target and a few other places. The differences are that the Phillips device is only $40, it comes with a remote for switching signals and offers 4 inputs. Only setbacks are that one of the input ports are located on the front, and it is said to have difficulty complying with Sony and Apple products. But for what it's worth I've used my PS4 Pro on both switchers for extended periods of time and had no problems with either of them.
Conclusion: Device works well on its own, but I would recommend the Phillips hdmi switch over this one.

For the price and functionality, yeah. For the size and ease of use, yeah. For the hdr pass through, yeah. Would I buy it again? Yeah. Is there anything that could have made it better? Yeah. I wish It came with a remote, but I do think it’s a great product with no loss of image quality, and you can’t beat that. There are similar priced products, but the HDR was nonnegotiable, and that makes it future proof.

Opened the box, installed the HDMI,switch with new 8K cables. Turned in on and it worked perfect first time. I connected an Apple TV and a Panasonic BD played to,a 55in Samsung Tv. I would highly recommend this switch . Switching back and forth between the two products is fast and simple.

3 HDMI Inputs w/ HDR Passthrough

Item was easy to install in my home theatre setup. Having 3 HDMI inputs allowed me to connect 3 video game systems to my TV. The HD pass through ensures that your picture quality isn’t degraded like most HDMI switches. The switch is powered by an included power supply cable that allows for the switch to provide uninterrupted use between each input. The only thing that would make this switch better would be to have an included remote but it isn’t difficult to use the input switch button.

I bought a new Tv recently, it only has 3 HDMI ports. Xbox, Ps4 and my Firestick takes them all up. I just bought a new 4k Blu Ray Player and I needed an extra HDMI port. So after do my research, I felt this was a good one. Simple just plug your HDMI cable in the port. Then connect your other devices to the HDMI Switch. Simple enough for me and thats what I like. Has one extra HDMI port, so ill probably use it eventually. Good item IMHO

Works great and allows me to split multiple (3) HDMI devices thru this hub without unplugging/replugging each time for game/DVD/etc consoles. Good price point and I don't really need it to be remote controlled which raises the price point.

works just fine. it's small and slim enough to not be an eye sore, which is why we bought it. didn't want to see all the cords for the switch, pc, and playstation everywhere, we had to keep unplugging and connecting whatever we wanted to use. wanted to keep everything hidden, now this is the only thing we can see. i recommend if you want to cable manage with hdmi.

This switch works perfect, just as advertised. Price is competitive, lower than most. All my HDMI inputs were being used on my HDTV, my daughter bought me a Blu-Ray DVD and I didn't have a Blu-Ray player. So, I bought a player. I use one of the input ports for the DVD player and one for my cable box. I use one HDMI cord from the switch box into my TV. Little button on top of the switch is pressed to switch from one input device to the other. Works perfect and I really like those little blue lights too. I do recommend this switch, available at Best Buy for a good price.

Insignia 3-Port HDMI Switch

It was a little confusing to set up at first. It took me a while to figure out the placement of the HDMI connections. There are four HDMI ports. It is called a 3-Port HDMI Switch, but one HDMI port goes out to TV. The other three ports connect whatever one chooses, such as a DVD player, or a streaming set box. There were occasional problems at first, but overall it works quite well. It is not controlled by a remote, so changing from one connection to another requires pushing the button on the top of the device.

This HDMI switch is a must have if you have got multiple devices and not a lot of ports to plug into. It works great . I have a game system, a chrome cast and a dvd player hooked up to the switch. The other ports on the TV are taken by the sound bar and a Nintendo Switch . It makes it easier to reduce the wires going to the TV hanging on the wall . I would get a device like this again in the future.

Easy Way to Add HDMI Ports

The Insignia 3-Port HDMI Switch works as advertised. This is a very simple way to expand the amount of HDMI switches on a device. Hook-up and operation is easy - no fuss. Something I would add as an improvement is a remote. It doesn’t come with one so you have to manually switch between ports, so you have to ensure placement of the switch leaves it easily accessible. It doesn’t appear that you can add the device to an existing remote. Picture quality is not sacrificed - even in 4k, so that’s a definite plus.
Overall good value for the money.
