I have four different types of portable AC units in my home. This is now my favorite. Easy installation with all the necessary accessories to seal the window properly.

Thoroughly disappointed in how this unit came to us from the warehouse. Back airflow vents were bent in arrival. It also had a super fishy odor for the first hour or so after we unboxed it (didn’t even turn it on yet thankfully). Super disappointed BestBuy…I would return it and get a different one, or different AC in general, but its going to be 100+°F the next few days and I’m not risking another one not getting here in time :( Also doesn’t come with enough prongs to actually hold up the window slats. I’d recommend duct taping it until you can get more prongs for it!

This portable AC cools small to medium rooms quickly and is easy to set up with its included remote and timer. It’s affordable and effective for the price, though it can be a bit noisy on higher settings and somewhat bulky to move. Overall, a solid choice for quick, reliable cooling in bedrooms or offices.

Not sure if mine came defective or what but definitely I will return it, my bedroom is less that 300 sq ft. I Had to take it to a 3rd floor without elevator but I don't care. I'll try to get a better one.

I have an upstairs loft bedroom just under 300 sq. ft., with a peaked ceiling. I have no need to air-condition the entire house, so this seemed the most economical approach for those occasional days when you just want to flop down on the bed and do nothing because of the heat. This cools the room well to the low 70s (which is where I set it). Some reviewers complained that the unit is too loud. Personally, I find the sound reasonable enough, but it isn't whisper quiet. I don't think it's reasonable to expect that in this price range, anyway. I vent it via a 46" double-hung window with no trouble (though I found it a bit tricky to figure out how to place the vent shield in the window -- but that's on me). It moves easily on its casters, and the remote works well from across the room. I recommend it.

Wow don’t trust you guys any longer.Just got my excellent condition AC delivered in pieces. Very frustrated with you guys as now my senior dad a state away has to try and muscle this it your store for a return.. not dealing with Best Buy any longer after this order. Pieces broke and no remote

Don’t buy, it bearly cools and it came damaged, the radiator was burnt

I’ve been using this Insignia portable AC in my bedroom, which is around 300 square feet, and it has been great. Setup was super easy. Everything you need comes in the box including the window kit and remote. I had it running in just a few minutes. It cools the room quickly and keeps the temperature steady. I also like that it has a fan-only mode when I just want air circulation. The remote has a feature where it acts as a thermostat which is a nice extra. It is a little loud on high, but not enough to bother me while sleeping or watching TV. The wheels make it easy to move around and it does not take up too much space. If you need an affordable and reliable portable AC for a small to medium room, this one gets the job done without any issues. Five stars all the way.

Our central A/C unit stopped working right at the beginning of summer, so we got this unit while we wait for the larger one to be fixed. It works pretty well and was able to cool my living room to comfortable levels. Wish the swing went a little lower so you could angle the airflow straight forward and It is a bit noisy, but still worth it.

My room is a converted garage, so in the summertime it can get very hot as our central AC system isn't powerful enough to cool it. Saw this on sale during summer 2020 and figured it would be a great way to keep cool during WFH and other times. This unit does its job well, but it IS loud! Sleeping in the same room as this thing takes some getting used to, even from five feet away. If you're a light sleeper, I can't recommend it. Otherwise, it works fine. It's coming back after a winter stored away and still functions well. Wish it had an insulated hose, so that's something that needs to be improved upon. Just a hardware note: it uses a six-inch diameter hose, so you'll need a reducer to use a regular dryer vent hood if you're exhausting through an exterior wall. Annoying that it isn't 4", but I imagine that's for increased exhaust flow/efficiency.

This AC unit works great, especially fir its price compared to other portable units available. My landlord doesn’t allow window units, and a cooling fan wasn’t going to cut it for the summer heat. This was easy to install — took about an hour or so with no help, and I’m a young woman who’s not particularly handy. It does a great job cooling down my 400-sq foot apartment. It’s obviously not as effective as central AC, but if you’re reading reviews for this product you likely don’t have central air anyways. I’ve seen people complain about the noise. For me, it’s not a problem — no louder than a box fan turned up high. I actually like the noise at night, since I’m someone who has a hard time sleeping in silence and I usually turn a fan on anyways. The only time the noise bothers me is if I’m on the phone and within a few feet of the unit. In that case, I move away from the unit and it’s fine. Overall great product for great price, especially if you can’t have a window unit for whatever reason.

Cold AC, Easy to Setup, Blows Strong. Have this inside of a medium sized bedroom. Cools the room in a matter of minutes. Not too loud, but you’ll know when it’s on. Remote is handy. Has all the features we’d like, fits the roll perfectly. Would recommend.

Works great! Very surprised and pleased..not loud as some described ive had window units louder You can hear compressor kick off and on I also have it sitting on carpet and an area rug..blows great, cooled my apartment living room off in 30 min. Remote works great very glad I purchased this and not a more expensive unit definitely does the job. Very easy out the box hooked exhaust hose up..set remote to cool auto and follow me (which is the remote temp) and let it go! Is kinda heavy i carried it across my parking lot somehow really need a second person for any distance more than 5ft ...DEFINITELY RECOMMEND

This is my first time owning a portable AC. My central AC recently broke and needed a quick alternative due to the heatwave. I honestly never knew these things existed until I stayed at an Airbnb that had one. This one is 10x louder though. Like, its LOUD loud. I bought this for my small bedroom so maybe if you’re using this in a larger space you won’t notice the sound as much? As far as cooling, it cools just fine. Takes about 30-45 minutes to completely cool down my bedroom. Also, I like how you’re able to set a timer for it to turn on. With the current heatwave, It’s really handy to be able to set it to turn on about an hour before I get home from work so that I can arrive to a cool and comfortable atmosphere!

We LOVED having this when the coil needed replacing on our A/C. The box is heavy, but once we got it out, it was SUPER easy to install. We put tape around the edges of the window to make sure no hot air came in to compete. And this portable A/C kept the living room pleasant while we watched TV (we had an old-fashioned window A/C that we used in the bedroom to make it comfortable to sleep, but it was REALLY hard to install). We loved that this portable A/C had wheels and only an accordion-shaped tube had to be installed in the window. If we needed to pull it deeper in the room, the accordion tube easily unfolded for that. If we wanted to roll it back closer to the window, the accordion tube folded easily, too. We cut the front of the box to roll it out, then we saved the box to roll it back in when we were done. We have it stored in our garage should we ever need it again.

I bought this because I just wanted something in my bedroom at night, instead of having to cool the entire house. I also wanted to be able to move it around easily. The wheels are sturdy, and that helps a lot. The window kit worked out well, plenty of size options and I figured that out quickly. It cools one room very well, and quickly. It doesn't seem noisy to me, but I sleep with a fan on all the time, so a little noise isn't a problem for me. My only concern is emptying it. I just haven't found the most convenient way to do so yet. The longest I have gone so far without emptying it is three nights, and the indicator has not come on for me yet. The unit is fairly heavy, so I am still looking for the easiest way to empty the condensate.
