Turned a 12x12 bedroom into an icebox In about an hour on a 94° day. A bit noisy when the AC is on, if you’re standing/sitting close to it but in the hall outside the bedroom, it just sounds like a regular fan. If you’re just running the fan, not the AC, it’s very quiet. Remote works great, controls are easy and intuitive. Setup with the window vent was super easy!

We had this unit now for about 2 weeks and it does a pretty good job. It seems to be a solid build. Illuminated remote is good with LCD display. The LEDs on the unit can be shut off. It has a timer and an oscillating type flap that moves the airflow if you want. Castors make it easy to move. The air intake has a mesh filter. Easy to install. Can be used solely as a dehumidifier and has hose connections for the drain. Price was good. The only real negative is the noise factor however it is no louder than a hotel AC unit.

This AC is good, cools a room fast, like 30 minutes to an hour tops. Only thing is it is loud, but it’s bareable because it cools fast so it doesn’t have to be on for too long. I’ve only had it for a day, so we’ll see how long it lasts me, hopefully for a good few years because it is kinda expensive.

This portable AC is performing above and beyond our expectations. It is rated for 300 sq ft, but is cooling an area well above 400 sq ft. The only negative is the sound. But, we can accept it somewhat, considering that it is cooling such a large area and consequently runs more at high blower sometimes. Considering that we're in the deep south and experiencing above average summer temps, that's also a reason for the sound created by high blower. We've had it a little less than a month so far. We'll see how it performs long term and will revisit our review if necessary.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Insignia™ - 300 Sq. Ft. Portable Air Conditioner. We are thrilled to hear that it has exceeded your expectations in performance, especially in cooling a space larger than its rated capacity.

We appreciate your understanding regarding the sound levels. High blower settings can indeed contribute to increased noise, particularly during hot summer months when the unit is working harder to maintain a comfortable temperature. It's great to know that you are willing to consider this factor given the exceptional cooling results.

We look forward to hearing about your long-term experience with the unit. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any further comments or questions in the future. - Ed | Insignia Support | https://www.bestbuy.com/site/brands/best-buy-brands/pcmcat1596746025285.c?id=pcmcat1596746025285 BBY-ExBrand_Insignia

Very cold air, easy installation on the window thanks to the provided window kit. I would recommend grabbing maybe some type of strong glue and/or strong double sided duct tape to 110% secure any and all openings left. And make sure to have a screen on the outside of the window before installation. It’s a little noisy but honestly, what unit isn’t noisy right? Plus, I only use it when I’m sleeping. Is it worth the money I paid? Absolutely. I would not pay anymore than what I paid, although I do have to mention I added a warranty just in case. If you’re looking for a portable AC, this is it. Make this one your first!

This is a great Portable Air Conditioner! I researched many options from different stores and with the reviews and choices, this fit the bill perfectly. I'm very happy with it as it blows very cold air and has a great remote to adjust settings from my desk. I have a very limited amount of space and I have crank open windows which does not allow the traditional window mount units to work for me. I only wish the hose was a bit longer.... maybe a foot or two, but this still works great. I looked up getting a longer vent tube, but this is the standard length due to air friction loss with a longer hose that would cause it to make the unit work harder and shorten it's life along with not being as efficient. There were two units available that would work for my space with one being a 250 Sq Ft unit and one being a 300 Sq Ft unit. For 20 bucks extra I went with the 300 and am happy as I can use it for a larger space when I want to and it's just a bit more powerful. I'd do it again. I'm very happy with this purchase and I'd buy it again.

We've had portable units like this before but none that ever worked as smoothly. It cooled off the space we needed efficiently and continuously for the whole time we needed it. I've now got it set up in the garage for when I'm out there and even though the area is much larger than what it's rated for, it still does a great job keeping it cool enough to be tolerable for long stretches.

I just got mine today, so I’m going off of one day using it so far! Pros: it cools my bedroom super fast! I live in an apartment where there is a wall AC unit in the living room, but being in a 2 bedroom apartment, it never reaches my room. And when I go to sleep, my room is so hot. My windows in my room are horizontal sliding so a traditional window unit wouldn’t work. But this portable unit does a great job! It’s very sleek looking, and I love that the installation is super easy! And living in the Midwest, once summer is done, I can easily unplug this and store it away until next summer. So I like that it’s easy to disconnect it. I love that it has so many features, it’s not just an AC but also a humidifier and a fan. Some nights the cool air is not needed but I need white noise to sleep so I can just use the fan. CONS: I knew it was going to be noisy, based on other reviews. So to some people that might be a con, but I’m used to window units/wall units and those make noise too so it doesn’t quite bother me. I also have carpeted floors, so maybe once I figure out a good way to put a piece of wood or something underneath to level it, it might take away some of the noise I’m hearing. It’s very heavy, you definitely need a second person to help you lift this into your home. I wish it didn’t take up so much space, my room is quite small and because it can’t be pushed up against the wall or on top of a desk - it takes up a lot of floor space. And it’s kind of ugly to see the hose connected to the window, but that’s not a deal breaker for me! All in all, I really like it! And for it being one of the reasonably priced portable ACs, I was pleasantly surprised by how great it is.

Small footprint but does a great job cooling the space in a small bedroom. Setup is very simple with clear instructions. The first run did seem as if the unit was too loud but that proved to not be the case at all. It only took a couple of nights to get accustomed and not even notice it was on after a few minutes. Two thumbs up on this purchase. Highly satisfied customer.

Oh man, is this thing efficient. It has tons of options, looks sleek. Simple go use. All around great product. BUT it is SO FREAKING LOUD AND SO FREAKING HEAVY. The noise I expected because I had read reviews before purchasing and the good outweighed the bad. Believe those reviews and this one - this thing is loud. But it’s kind of ok because it cools so quickly. Second complaint. Holy crap it’s heavy. I live on the third floor, no elevator and I’m so thankful a nice neighbor offered to help or I wouldn’t have been able to get it up the steps. Bring a dolly or a very strong friend.

I purchased this unit in May as I expected them to sell out quickly once the weather became hotter. It was very easy to set up, the window vent unit is easy to install and remove when the a/c unit is not needed. It is on caster wheels which makes it easy to push against a wall when not in use, even on carpet. Our weather is normally not too hot (but climate change is real and weather patterns are changing everywhere) and I really only need a/c every so often. Unlike a window unit I like the fact that it is not permanently installed. It cools my living area down adequately however it is noisier than I hoped it would be (hence the four stars and not five). If I needed this for my bedroom I probably would not be quite so happy with it. The noise is not too bad but I do have to increase the volume on my TV when it is on. Otherwise I am happy with this purchase. It does what I need it to do to keep me comfortable.

This A/C gets my small room nice and cool. Very easy to install, it does get a bit loud enough that you would have to turn the volume up a bit more if watching a movie but its not super annoying. I doze off to it just fine in hot nights. Extremely easy to use as well with the included remote

I’ve had this AC unit for almost a year now and it’s done wonders. I bought it last summer because my apartment doesn’t have air conditioning but this AC unit does the trick in seconds. The AC unit is very simple to set up as well as control. I really appreciate the light up screen on the remote because I don’t have to struggle pressing all the buttons on it until I get the right one. Overall this product deserves a 5 star review!!

We are using it in a master bedroom with a coffered ceiling. Room size is about 20 by 13 feet so under the 300 square feet capacity mentioned. The performance and cooling of this unit is good. However, it comes with a caveat - we've only used it as a supplement to our central A/C unit so far. But we keep that set high, especailly at night, and this unit cools our room so we sleep very comfortably. So I am happy about that so far. I may need to revisit the review if I use it w/o the central a/c, but I *think* it would do a decent job cooling the room. So why only 4 stars? Two reasons. One is that the remote control operation is, for lack of a better term, goofy. It works but I believe the remote must "recognize" when it turns the a/c on or off. I use a universal remote control and I "taught" it the commands of the supplied remote, but the operation is flaky. I just cannot put my finger on why it is. Also the "shortcut" and "follow me" features where the remote acts as a thermostat is shaky as well. The shortcut should save the current setting, but it doesn't do that well either and it never keeps the "continuous fan" setting on. The 2nd knock is that the vent kit is a bit flimsy and it is ideally made for a once per year installation. However, we like to open our window on cooler nights. It comes with an adhesive seal that you are supposed to adhere to the window frame and I didn't want to do that. Other portable units I had came with rubber gaskets which worked better. I am fairly handy and was able to cut the foam pieces to suit my needs. It works fine, but it is certainly far from elegant. Speaking of other units, this is quieter than a couple of other portable units I have had in the past. There is definite a nice hum - but it is constant and we actually like it cause it drowns out other sounds. There is a bump up in noise when the compressor activates, but that does not interrupt our sleep. Both issues really are just annoyances however. We generally use the on unit controls to turn the unit on so the remote is not much of a factor. But since the unit does its main job of cooling well, I will only knock one star off. I can recommend the unit due to that.

This thing is not as loud as i expected it to be, it does make a noise like any air conditioner but its not to the point where you can't hear your TV or doesn't let you sleep at night. As to the cooling part of this thing, honestly if your room is really hot it takes about 2-3 minutes for it to cool it down, and it takes about 5-7 minutes to take it from really hot to cold, best thing about this air conditioner is the remote it comes with so you can program it to turn off when it is at the desired temp. and for it to turn back on when getting over the desired temp. Great purchase.

We placed this unit in our main bedroom , approximately 20 feet by 15 feet. It is a second floor townhome and that floor gets pretty warm during summer, even with central air. Due to our window dimensions, we were unable to do a window unit . This unit was easy to install, and looks much nicer from the outside, compared to a window unit. It does a really good job of keeping it cool in the bedroom. I don’t think this unit would be equipped to cool anything larger than our room. The I’ll it is moderately loud, but I do not find it offensive. If you have difficulty with noise when you sleep, you may want to consider other options. The unit is heavy but the wheels make moving it very easy. The energy consumption is pretty bad compared to a window unit, however it saves me money as I can set the central air higher at night. We have owned this unit for several months and are so far very satisfied.
