amazing and works great, have a studio apartment and keeps the place cool constantly

I ordered for store curbside pickup due to COVID. I had to borrow a van to pick it up because it does not fit in my car. It is a little heavy for me to move on my own, I had to get help. I mention this because when I got it unboxed the power button was not working but you could not tell by looking it was damaged. I did not set it up, my daughter did while I was at work and she could not power it on without the remote because of this. It had to either be a return or damaged at the factory as this was well boxed and protected, I can't see it being damaged in shipment due to this. It works fine with the remote but if anything ever happens to that remote ( i have 2 dogs who like to chew them) I am in trouble. I know I can set up an appointment to return it up until the 7th but getting it back to the store, back in the box, and borrowing another van or truck is my issue. Keep in mind that I have to make an appointment and the other issue is they have no other models to replace it so I would have to wait for a replacement (not in this heat, not happening). I can only get the van on Tuesdays and not until 5 pm, so by the time I get it, drive home load it up and head to BB they are closed (close at 6). So I am just going to live with it and see if at the end of summer I can fix the button myself, if not I will be protecting that remote like no other. If not for that button I would give it 5 stars because it cools my whole downstairs with the help of a fan to move the cool air from the small room to the larger. It cools my small office (this is the room I have it in), my kitchen (small sized) and living room (medium sized), I also run a large fan and a ceiling fan on reverse in my living room. It keeps it comfortable, we have no real options in the other 2 rooms to set up an AC so this is a good solution. This is my first portable air conditioner and I do like that I can move it from room to room. It also has a dehumidifier setting, I have not tried this but it is a nice feature to have. Please note that you can't tell my button is broken until you try to use it and nothing happens, mine had to be plugged in to know it did not function, so ask BB to check this for you so you do not lug it home like I did. Pros: -Tons of automated settings (like swing which moves to vent open and close to change direction of airflow) -Dehumidifier -Auto thermostat to set -Fan mode -Sleep mode -follow me (pretty cool feature, uses the remote to sense temp and sets the ac to that) -Super easy to set up and move, vent connects easily & it has wheels -Easy to clean filter Cons -A little bulky for tighter spaces (you need some room for the vent) - Power button was damaged -No filter indicator

Really gets the studio nice and cool plus it has a nice auto setting and remote.

When I bought this I was worried that I would have to pop out the screen of my window but nope! It's thin enough that it fits perfectly in the space of the window and absolutely love that the window connection is totally adjustable. Super easy to install this! Also I use this in my bedroom which is like 150sq ft and I cannot have it on too long it makes my room chilly very quickly which I actually love because there is a timer feature that I use almost everyday so I don't have to turn it on and off. One last note, yes it is noisy but if you're like me and are able to or like to fall asleep to the sounds of fans you probably won't mind it. Very glad I decided to buy this!

Purchase this as a open box and was a bit scared of the item not working but it’s been 2 weeks and this is a MUST!!! Cools room fast, doesn’t take to much space, has a remote and come with different window set ups!

Love it! Easy to set up and the remote control is super convenient. Putting together the window brace for the hose is not difficult but one must pay attention to do it correctly. Everything fit together nicely and it made such a difference to turn it on and cool down my Studio quickly. I didn't realize that this unit also has a heat function which may come in handy someday. Overall I am very happy with this portable air conditioner from Best Buy. Also, ordering online and picking up the next day was super easy. Thank you! Lastly, please get vaccinated and wear a mask.

I love this unit. I recently moved into a small room temporarily in between buying a new home and with the room being over the garage, it gets quite warm in there from the heat rising through, even if the rest of the home is cooler. I got this to offset the cooling needs so my room mates weren't chilled out by the master system to meet my temperature needs. It cools my little room quite fast. I set it to 68 at night and it definitely keeps it cool. I wish the window insert was smaller, my windows are shorter in width, so I had to adjust it a bit, but it works. All in all I am very happy with the unit. Pros: Design is nice, very sleek and modern. I love that the top closes when turned off by itself. Remote is very nice. This is great for when in bed, I can adjust the settings on the fly. Haven't noticed it leak any condensation on the outside given how humid it has been in my area. Not sure if there is water build up in the unit or if it just pushed out the exhaust over time, but seems to be dry around the unit. I did have to tighten the drain plug in the back as out of the box it was a little loose. Cons: Unit is bigger than I thought it would be, it does take up some space. It is a chunky boy. Can be very loud as the sound it produces blocks out some sound frequencies emitted from the TV, so you have to increase the volume or use headphones to hear what you are watching with noise cancelling. With the fan, it isn't too much of an issue, but when the AC Compressor engages, it does add sound to the room that will muffle out sounds. So in my case, this might make it a nuisance if I increase my audio from my electronics, which I try to avoid at certain hours. Does what I bought it for. Keeps me cold during the hottest part of the day.

We purchased this air conditioner for our bedroom that is at the back of the house and doesn't get much cool air circulated into it. It has done a great job at keeping the space cool. The set up is easy. It does make a sound when running which isn't obnoxious, but if you're sensitive to noise, you may want to opt for something quieter. Both my husband and I adjusted to the sound just fine. I like that you can turn off the LED display lights located on the unit by using the remote. They are quite bright.

Works very well! Cools down the entire floor and even the downstairs area.

Good room AC. We had new windows installed and did not want to damage the frames or have to deal with the screens. This unit installs easily. It's fairly quiet and has worked without problem. It's pretty heavy is the only drawback. It has several features that you may or may not need or use, but it works well as a room AC.

i love how it keeps my office fresh all day, i would buy again if this one breaks.

My central heat/ac went out last year, 2200. for the part or 4000. to replace. Ha. So used couple window units last year, and they worked good with fans placed strategically(my house is a basic rectangle, 1200 sq ft), so got away with only 2 units (probably too small for the size but ehh) on either end of the house. But they're a pain to put in the windows, bugs get in-had a lovely box elder and stink bug infestation, one of my dogs figured out how to move the side panel and greeted me outside when I came home from work-and the cats like to claw at those panels for some reason. A friend had given me a larger other brand portable ac unit, and I loved it! I don't permanently put it in the window, so can take it out on cooler nights and use my exhaust window fan, it's easy to set up, easy to use, screen can be kept shut, just convenient as heck. The cooling isn't as great as the window units, but it's decent and works. So I managed to snag a great open box deal on this unit here. I use it in a bedroom, and usually keep the door open to help cool that part of the house. Doing that, compared to the window unit-window unit wins. This does cool the room, but with door open it's not freezing. One thing I have noticed, no condensation with this unit, that's a plus. Even with the door shut, it's not freezing-which is fine, it's tolerable and sleep well. This unit is louder than my other portable, it kind of reminds me of a commercial freezer or something when the compressor kicks on. It's not super loud, but tad louder than a window unit. Plus, the whole thing is right there in the room with you, so it's kind of expected. But it doesn't bother me, I could sleep through anything. If you're sensitive to sounds, it may bother you. There is a sleep mode button, no idea what that's for, guess I really should read the directions. It has a "swing" feature, where the lid where the air comes out kind of opens and closes-not sure if it moves side to side, don't think it does. I like that feature, seems to make it cooler. The only real complaint I have with this unit, the buttons are flat, and are on the top. My cats treat it as their personal step stool so they don't have to jump onto the dresser. They shut it off, change the temperature, switched it to dry mode, etc. I'm going to attempt to lift it up higher onto a table like my other one is and they don't mess with that one. My other unit has the controls on the front of the unit. Overall, so far I'm satisfied with it. Hopefully it just keeps on working without any issues. Because these things are expensive, even with snagging the deal on it. I have noticed everywhere jacks up the prices on them. Best time to catch a deal is off or pre/end of the season.

I got this portable a/c unit a couple of months ago, and I'm glad I bought it. I see some reviews saying they had to drain the water out of of it on a regular basis, but I haven't had that issue. It's been running it in my bedroom on cool mode since I bought it, and no water has collected in it so far. I originally got it because my bedroom is the warmest room in the house (sometimes it gets up to 80 degrees if I have my PC running), and it consistently stays at 73 degrees now. As far as noise goes it's about average. When the a/c is on it is difficult to hear my television if I'm watching something or playing a game, and so you would likely have to turn your volume up higher at the very least in that situation. I don't mind it personally when I'm playing a game, but it would bother me if I'm watching a movie or a tv show and I'll likely turn it off for the duration of whenever I'm doing that. However, it's not so loud that it keeps me awake at night, or where it bothers me to any significant degree. Overall, I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for an affordable portable a/c.

Bought this back in 2020, for my basement apartment which windows were too small for a standard size AC. This has now followed me to 2 other apartments which works fantastic in regular windows with the adjustment paddles. Each apartment was over 1200 square feet and kept the whole place cool. Best purchase! So convenient and easy to store during the winter.

The Insignia portable AC is a great item for adding some cold air in small to medium size space. Purchased this on sale, so was an extremely great value. Easy to set up and use. The remote control with temperature control settings is also great! Also came in handy when I was having to repair my central AC. Would definitely recommend this product. Works great, and haven't had any issues with it.

Kept our large master bed/bath icy all summer with record-setting heat outside. Were able to vent it easily through our sideways-sliding window. This thing ran for months and months without stopping. It's not the quietest thing ever, but we're the type of people that usually have a fan on for white noise anyway. Never needed condensation water emptied either. Tip: we turned off the bright blue lights only by using the remote (there isn't a button for that on the main unit).

So this is the first time in the past 15 years that I haven't had central air and heat. So, I had to learn quickly about window and portable A/C's. I am super happy that I did my research and chose this portable A/C. My condo came with a window A/C in the living room but I needed something in my bedroom and boy oh boy this thing works. It's so powerful and works so good that I don't have to close my bedroom door because it cools off my room and my hallway and bathroom. Also, it does this cooling on the low speed setting. Meaning, I could blast the coolness on the high speed but it isn't needed because the low speed on cool works great. I can see this working for anyone. I mean I live in an area in California were it can get to a 100+ degrees. The other day it was 93 degrees out and when I came home from work I put this on and it's so powerful it cools down the back part of the house in a mere few minutes. So if you're looking for a portable A/C I have no problem recommending this one. It truly works excellent!!! *Sidenote. Only one thing to be mindful of. The unit is heavy. Like really heavy. It's super sturdy so don't worry about tipping. But I just want you to be mindful that it isn't a light unit. Cheers!

I bought this for a small bedroom after the scorching summer heat in Seattle at the end of June, 2021. It was super easy to set up. The unit looks sleek and durable. The vent opens and closes to direct the air flow. I like the easy to use settings on the unit and the remote control. We've used it for several months and it works like a charm. The unit cooled the small room fast. Looking forward to using it in summer 2022.
