It was easy to set up since we already had an Amazon account. The input options are right on the main screen so he can change over to his Nintendo Switch easily.

Not a simple replacement for a “DUMB” TV

The ability to “Rewind” and replay live broadcast is phenomenal. IT IS NOT A SIMPLE REPLACEMENT FOR A “DUMB” TV IN THE BEDROOM. Each time it is powered ON, it returns to the START Menu. (The first dozen or so times you need to tell it NOT to connect to Wi-Fi.) You then need to navigate to "Recent" and Antenna selection to begin to watch local on-air broadcasts. Once selected, you need to navigate through the stations list to select the "channel" you want. There is no way to enter the channel number/name to shorten the process. (ie: The stations are listed alphabetical. If the station you want is channel 4.1 and its name/id is WRC, you need to proceed through all the station selections to get to the desired program,(which here in Northern VA is 54 choices).) With use it will add the most used to the recent choices at startup/powerup. But after starting with 4.1, wanting 4.2 (aka COZI) begins the alphabetic sequence search again. I would recommend this product with the caveat that it NOT be used "offline" as an "off-the-air" TV. While instant replay without a DVR is a feature I LOVE, the hassle of channel changing is VERY FRUSTRATING and hard to accept….

Worst tv ever...in only 15 minutes

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the 32" insignia fire tv...wow. this was an all time poorest experience I ever had with an electronic device. not the first time connecting a fire tv to Amazon although I must admit it was an oversight and didn't realize I ordered a fire tv but when it got here I figured it was ok....just wow, frustration from the moment it was plugged in. Did notice fingerprints on the screen so it might've been a return already. Bought this at best buy for $149 plus tax. I connected it to wifi network 5 times bc it kept forgetting the network, surprisingly difficult getting it connected to amazon account I don't know how if all you do is go to amazon account and enter a code yet that was a hassle with this tv. finally, the darn screen is grayed out and says it's updating my remote, takes 1 to 2 minutes, don't touch any buttons, that was HOURS ago. After 30 minutes I turned tv off and on, pushed buttons on remote ... it's dead. 94% of ppl recommend this? That's just gotta be rigged. Turns off by itself but when I turn it back on, there's the darn remote message again and I thought I was going to sit down and enjoy some tv this Monday evening after work.....NOPE!!!
