    Stay Away from Insignia Washer

Purchased washer in late August for a vacation home. First few washes ran well. Then it started to give intermittent E3 error, which is indicates a problem with the lid. Now it stopped working completely with a constant E3 error. Called the "Geek Squad" and they said I had to contact Insignia support. When I spoke with Insignia they said this is a known problem with this washer. However, they said I had to return the washer to the Best Buy store for service, the refused to send out a repair person. I complained and they "escalated" my request for in-home service. Not satisfied I went to the Best Buy store, explained my situation to a rep in the appliances and they were able to arrange for an in-home service call. The next day I receive an email from the Insignia "escalation group" stating I needed to take pictures of the washer, the serial number and my receipt to prove that a) it was still in new condition and b) that I had in fact purchased it. Waste of time with Insignia. The in-home Geek Squad had replacement parts shipped to my home and the repair person arrived a day later. However, he explained that the main part he needed, a control board, was back ordered for two months, meaning we will be without a working washer for at least that amount of time. If in fact this is a "known issue" with this washer, why isn't there a recall on it? Very dissatisfied with this washer and the way Best Buy and Insignia (which is owned by Best Buy) are handling this.

      Dear customer,

Thank you for your review of the Insignia Washing Machine. We're sorry to hear you had an issue with the product. One of the leading factors to the E3 error is an uneven floor surface where the washer is installed. Even a slight uneven floor surface can cause the washer to show an E3 error. We hope that this message is helpful to you, and that you give us another chance by calling our customer help desk.

Originally picked this washer but when I went to pick it up they had the whirlpools on sale so I got the 4.3 cabrio instead. Because of the cabrio being too loud I decided to give this one a try. The noise is better (quieter than the cabrio) just gets loud during the spin but the spin is very hard and I doubt anyone will have an issue with clothes still being wet. The washer was reading that it was level so I didn't adjust it but during the spin it started rocking back and forth so I adjusted the front leg so it didn't have no wobble at all because even the very slightest can make it rock. I am unsure of it being high efficiency. My old HE only filled with enough water to cover the clothes. This one fills pretty high, all the way to the top. This washer does have a aggitator though so maybe that's the difference of why it has to fill all the way with water? Skeptical of the aggitator being too rough on my clothes and also fearing my next water bill. Other than that it looks great and is pretty spacey. The glass top is nice because you can see what's happening with your clothes. The spin cycle seems long but like I said it does spin hard and I think it does an over the top job. Oh and also the drain pipe is to the lower left side of the washer (if you are standing in front of it) which made it kind of inconvenient since my output is to the upper right of the wall. Overall seems like a decent washer, I'm just not liking the high capacity of water. And that I would have to go through best buy to get a matching dryer if I ever wanted one since they are the only ones to sell insignia brand.

Needed a reliable basic set & took a chance with Best Buy's own Insignia brands. Yes I read Insignia was manufactured by BB using mismatched parts here & there but if it was they must have used the high end parts for my machine. I took a chance with this $400 washer and glad I did. Had this for 3 months & what a powerful efficient set. HE machines are great..some reviews say little water comes out..well there is a button for Water Plus if your old school and have to drown your clothes to get clean. The tub is deep in the washer and handles my Cal-King bedspreads with room to spare! My grandson owns very little clothes and when it estimates the load if adds enough water to cover such few garments. If your budget minded & product savvy this is the machine for you. I noticed the amt has gone up by $100. Glad I got mine when it was cheaper. It's quiet except for the spinning because that is one heck of a rotation. You need that to expel all the excess water off your clothes. For the price I hope it at least last me 5+ years. Oh the delivery guys at BB did an excellent job of bringing all the required parts for both washer & dryer.. Appeared professional and did the set up and hauling away of my old set in a timely manner and letting me inspect their work before they left. Thank you Best Buy..

We’re replacing a Whirlpool washer that we’ve had for about 15 years. That thing was a nightmare compared to this new Insignia. Full disclosure: The first unit we had delivered had a large dent on the front panel, but the guys saw it and immediately notated it for exchange. So, we’ve only had THIS unit for about a week. So far so good. MUCH quieter than our old unit, and I like the stainless steel drum and the simple control panel. It has one feature we weren’t used to...it weighs the load prior to introducing water, and so it rotates the load about 6 or 7 times first. It has plenty of room to handle our King-size bed comforter and it doesn’t travel at all during the spin cycle. It gets all the clothes nice and clean, and dispenses both bleach and fabric softener as it should. Clothes come out smelling nice and clean and fresh. Very happy with this purchase!

I only have this washing machine for a week. The wife and I really like it! Love the agitator action. Water levels are perfect. I don't understand why the machine agitates back and forth a couple times before the water starts, but I think it is weighing the clothes in order to predict the water level. My only qualms are: -Can't keep the lid open while filling with water. It stays locked through the whole cycle. -The clothes become piled up during the initial part of the cycle when the machine is calculating the water level with the agitator going back and forth without water (although they DO eventually even out!). -There's a LOT of spin time during the rinse/spin cycle (and yes, the clothes DO come out almost dry) which extends cycle time. Average time for "normal" wash is 75 minutes. We are pretty happy, though. I hope this last at least 10 years!

I previously had another brand of washer that broke down after 3 years, and then my next washer (a different brand) only lasted 14 months before breaking down recently. So I was wary of buying any washer at all for fear or another quick breakdown. After a lot of research on the Best Buy website and looking at the prior reviews, I settled on the Insignia washer, and I'm so glad I did! Best Buy was the only retailer out of the several that I checked that had a delivery date that was within a few days of purchase, and I needed another one right away. The washer works great - clothes and linens alike all come out clean. I'm satisfied with the various settings available. And there are no balance issues. I did buy Best Buy's extended warranty so I don't get burned again, but my fingers are crossed that this one will last. So far so good!

I studied washers with Consumer Reports reviews, CNET and other sites. I decided that a high efficiency machine with a real agitator was the type that were most highly rated for buyer satisfaction. I am delighted with the Insignia washer. It senses the right amount of water--and since the lid is glass, I can see it covers the clothes--even when washing dog beds and other bulky items. While I live alone, I rent my back house out through Airbnb, so I really appreciate the really large capacity tub for washing towels, sheets, bath rugs and duvet covers . The many options for water temperature, additional soaking and rinse cycles and soil levels give me a perfect wash. The high efficiency machines take longer per load, but this machine gives me clean clothes, and unlike my old machine, it doesn't wad everything up together in knots. I love it.

I absolutely loved this washing machine when I first purchased it. I have had it for 4 months and the water will no longer drain. The pump turns on, makes a humming noise and gets so hot that you can smell something burning. There is no clog in the drain pipe or home plumbing. My husband is a plumber and made sure of that. I contacted Bestbuy and was told that I had to contact Insignia who told me to contact Bestbuy who then transferred me to Insignia again. I finally spoke to a supervisor at Insignia who informed me that since I had this product installed by Bestbuy, the warranty is voided 1 month after installation. Now I have to find my own repair man & pay for repairs out of pocket. This is the worst customer service ever. Both Insignia and Bestbuy have lost my business & I will do everything I can to make sure everyone knows what kind of business they are running.

Wasting of time and energy (back to handwashing??)

So, the good. The machine is fairly quiet. It really helps to have a glass lid. The stuff comes out clean. The panel is intuitive and logical, easy to use. The bad: the machine is a time-eater - if you separate your laundry, prepare to spend the day dancing around the machine. Washing just a few items and using "quick wash" cycle takes almost an hour (44-55 min.) and way too much water. Forget about economical quick washes - or do it by hand (isn't it just your dream?!). Speaking of hand washing: "hand wash" and "delicate" cycles tear clothes. Probably because the agitator's bursts in the end of all the washing cycles, before spins, are identical. Spins are lengthy, but clothes come out quite wet. Considering all this, the presumed energy saving looks like false advertising.

Based on the few reviews I read it seemed like a good product other than noise complaints. Personally I don't notice it any more than any other washer I've owned. It is working flawlessly so far and with the way it agitates I certainly believe it will be better on energy consumption. I'm not a fan of locking lids but they all do that now so...no points against it there. My only complaint is the beginning of the cycle. I distribute the clothes evenly and it still tumbles them around before starting the water or soap.... I've tried just dumping clothes in and letting it adjust them but it still seems to bunch them up. If it had an option to turn that feature off it would have gotten 5 stars.

I didn't set super high expectations for this washer. We just needed a washer, needed it fast and needed it cheap. We had set the search filters for just that, the cheapest that was available for delivery within a week. It arrived on time and is so far my favorite washer I've ever used and we have used several different kinds due to renting and moving a lot. It's an HE washer which is awesome to be able to save on water and energy, but it's also a top loader and allows me the option to add extra water to wash things like heavily soiled cloth diapers the way front loaders can't. It's very quiet, gentle on clothes yet I can definitely feel that they are getting more clean than our last washer was. I am more than happy with my choice!

After spending countless hours researching a replacement washing machine, I finally decided to go with this Insignia top load washer because of it's price and my past experience with Best Buy's customer service. The machine works as intended (cleans my cloths) and it's relatively quite. My only criticism is the lengthily wash cycles. The cycle times are different with every load because it decides how long it will take based off load weight and the soil level I indicate. It's not a problem for me, it's just something to be aware of. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for an affordable replacement washing machine.

Simple and wonderful to look at. The best part about them is the function so well. I bought these after my almost 20 year old maytag neptune set starting going on the fritz. It washes well and, with the proper detergent, easily saved a hot cocoa stain on my daughters shirt that had already set and dried by the time we could throw it in. There is absolutely no reason to have any sort of skepticism about these, them not being branded by samsung, lg or ge -- I don't see why these aren't considered to be just as nice performers!

Drum size is huge! Agitator cleans fantastically. Glass top is nice to have so you or the kids can watch what’s going on. User friendly and you don’t have to wither away while waiting for it to unlock mid cycle. Fabric softener did get clogged and prevented it from draining, but easily fixed by loosening the gunk with the rub of a finger. Great price, but because it’s the first washer the brand put out, we opted for the 5 year warranty. Hope we don’t have to use it, but peace of mind to have it.

Literally just looked up my purchase date... January 8, 2018. On March 8, 2019, the washer is having a problem with the inlet valves not closing so water just continues to trickle into the tub. Thankfully it does seem to have an overflow protection that saved the basement from flooding. 2 months beyond the manufacturers warranty...and it breaks. Our last washer (albeit a much more basic unit than this) lasted at least a decade with no problems. Disappointed to say the least.

I have no complaints about this washer. I needed one quickly after my 1-year old washer of a different brand broke down, and Best Buy was the only retailer who could deliver in a short timeframe. I chose the Insignia brand washer because I had purchased Insignia televisions years ago and was very happy with their quality. This washer is great - it has a good variety of settings and the clothes come out clean. It's not super quiet but it's definitely not as loud as my last washer. I couldn't be happier!

I love this washing machine! It was replaced with an ancient one that was still working but well on its way to going out any day. The cycles of this washer are lengthy but the clothes come out very clean and the spin cycle leaves very little water in the clothes. I am using my dryer less because of this. Its also very quiet. Even with the agitator its nice that the tub is deep and wide enough for a couple loads at a time. Its great for the price and I am really happy with the purchase!

I have used this washer for a few weeks now and it works pretty good. Cycles can take a bit longer but that doesn't bother me. Is a little taller than older top load washers. So if you are a shorter person, you may have trouble reaching the bottom to get clothes out. Some people complain about HE washes not cleaning very well but I have no complaints about this one and I have run some pretty dirty clothes through it. Overall I think it's a great buy.

We've been using this machine since the 1st week of February 2019. No issues with it what so ever. Was not keen on it doing everything for us. When we've needed extra water, we just press the water plus button to add water to either the wash or rinse cycle. Noise level is what you'd expect from a washer, even though we could keep the door open to the laundry room and not be drowned out by the noise. Typical cycles are about an hour long.
