    A Really Great Washing Machine!

In January, 2023, I purchased an Insignia (Best Buy’s own brand) High Efficiency top loader. It’s a 4.1 cu ft capacity Model #NS-TWM41WH8A and, true confessions time, it is the only washing machine I have ever loved. It is sleek, solid, very efficient and with a viewing window in the lid, it’s entertaining too. Did you ever wonder what was going on inside of your machine? I find myself peeking in at various times during the cycle to check on what the washer is doing. It has a small agitator inside and a super-shiny silver drum. The lid is a soft close–no more clanging when you let it go prematurely. Very nice. This machine replaced a Speed Queen (supposedly best in the industry) but, not only did the old machine die prematurely, it was certainly not as nice as this modestly priced little beauty. So, I have had this sweet machine (I told you I love it!) for about six months, and used it just about every day and, on some days, two or three times. I have washed delicate items and large rugs and this machine handles it all. Not a single problem. I’ve noticed that a lot of people complain about how loud it is but that’s due to it managing your wash loads for you, balancing itself several times during the cycle, and other little tasks that only the machine knows. It might be louder than the old agitator types, but I don’t find it offensively loud at all. I’m actually amused by some of the whirrings and chugging “I think I can” sounds it makes while throwing your clothes around to get a balanced load. Isn’t a little extra noise worth it to never have to worry about your machine getting out of balance and shimming across your laundry room floor? I had never owned a high efficiency machine before and there are some things that ARE different. At first I was intimidated by all the choices for you to select for your wash, but it’s really pretty simple. First you turn the power on. Then you select the kind of load it is–from hand wash to delicate all the way to heavy duty, choose the soil level, choose whether you want to delay the start, whether you want an extra rinse, etc. Very easy, even for this 75 year old woman, who was set in her ways until this new machine came along. It has been seven months since I bought this washing machine and let me say it is truly a pleasure, making what used to be a tedious chore fun. If you want a really good washing machine for a reasonable price, I highly recommend this one.

I’ve had this washer for a little over a year now, and it continues to impress me every single week. It cleans clothes thoroughly, handles large loads without any struggle, and runs so quietly that I sometimes forget it’s even on. No leaks, no odors, and no performance problems whatsoever. What I love most is how gentle it is on fabrics while still getting rid of tough stains. My clothes come out looking brighter and feeling fresh every time. The different cycle options are super helpful whether it’s towels, delicates, or a quick wash, it handles everything perfectly. It’s also very efficient with water and energy, which has definitely helped keep my bills in check. The washer still looks and works like brand new the drum shines, the controls respond instantly, and nothing has worn down. After a full year of reliable, hassle-free laundry, I can honestly say this washer was one of the best purchases I’ve made. Completely satisfied and highly recommend!

Basic machine that gets the job done

I grabbed this washer for one of my rental apartments because I needed something affordable and dependable, and so far this one it's been pretty solid! It definitely met my expectations for a straightforward machine (not smart). What I really like is the decent 4.1 cu. ft. capacity, it's big enough for typical loads, and it's super simple to operate, which is perfect for a rental. I tried it a couple of times and it cleans well and is a great value for the money, which I totally love. If I had to find a tiny critique, is that it can be a bit on the louder side during certain cycles, and getting used to the high efficiency water levels might take a load or two. But seriously, for the price and getting clothes clean without fuss, it's a great basic washer I'd recommend if you're not looking for tons of bells and whistles.

I’ve had my Insignia washer since November 2019. Most boomers don’t understand new generation washing machines so I’m here to clear the air. The agitation at the beginning of the cycle tests for weight, balance and water level setting. When you take a bath you don’t need to add water over your head to get clean. Same with your top load. The tub is designed to pull the clothes down and get them agitated with less water. If the water doesn’t cover your clothes, walk away Judy, they’ll be clean. Walk away. No more separating clothes and no more hot water washes. Today’s detergents, colorsafe bleach, and boosters work with cold water and less water. I tried cold water setting during the summer months and had a noticeable reduction in my utility bill. The clothes were perfectly clean. When we were kids we were told to wrap the clothes around the agitator. Head Slap! No more. Just drop them in lightly in the drum and don’t overload it so everything is crushed. This will help with imbalance issues and shirt sleeves getting bunched up around towels. So. I let the machine work as it was designed and not how I was trained as a kid and I have had worry free results. This insignia machine is the bomb. I love having a digital display to let me know when to go down to dry. My gas bill has gone down significantly. The controls are easy to figure out and you can save your favorite setting. I use bulky for bed pillows and wash two across from each other to avoid balance issues. I use heavy duty for the king comforter and try to gently lay it around the agitator. I use the water plus button and 3 pods. The cycle always completes. I found the machine to be dependable and a great performer! I do customize soil and cycle settings a lot. It’s pretty routine now. This is hundreds less than similar functioning machines. I have no reservations about recommending this machine and the matching dryer.

Have had this product only for a month or so. I had an LG before which started leaking. Chose the cheapest replacment despite the reviews on this. It works as intended and isn't loud once you level it correctly. HOWEVER, my only complaint is if you are only washing a smaller blanket, it becomes very off offbalanced when it goes to the spin cycle after washing (so when the blanker is soaked). It has a feature where it tries to adjust three times (rearrange the items in the washer, but there is only one item) before you manual have to rearrage things. I had to wring out my wet blanket and add back to the washer or it would still be unbalanced causing the drum to hit the sides. I now never only wash one smaller size blanket because its just a hassle. Other than that, worls just fine at the moment. I highly recommend getting the protection plan if you go with this washer.

Good, cheap, and gets my clothes clean. The only tip I would share, it's still a machine that weighs the clothes to determine how much water to run. To bypass this, just click 'Water Plus' button for all your loads. To get loads even more clean, use the 'Water Plus' & 'Soak' option together. Oh this machine was a blessing. I hate to have let it go (only due to a move). Don't let the small price fool you. This machine trumps those high-dollar machines hands-down. I would know. I replaced a $1000+ Maytag (that was junk) for this one. Best decision.

Great value, and yes I shopped around. Works great, does what it’s sposed to. If it didn’t, I wouldn’t be rating it as I did. Handles the laundry from a family of 5 nicely. Plenty of room for bedding. Easy to use. Even pet loads are cinch. And we got puppies, big puppies, who are still learning things doggies need to learn…. Like my socks are NOT ur fav chew toy, even tho they tend to wander off and apparently dancing invitingly in front of doggies snouts… tauntingly. And that, just Becuz I took my pants off, doesn’t mean u need to pee on them. I get it, Mom is ur Mom. I love u too. And just cuz u were mad we left to go buy food for hungry doggies… ur doggy bed was NOT a toilet. This washer handles all the problems of a busy mom and very active (and stinky) teen and preteen boys… who sometimes forget the shower thing …in that space called … “the bathroom “ isn’t optional. Good job, washer. Ur a trooper, champ. We get through some pretty messy ordeals. High five!!

Since its delivery on 1/30/23 i have had it for only 7 days and am wary of saying its a good product. I've have used it for five differing load sizes and types of laundry from soiled work clothes to white sheets and linen with the appropriate water temperatures. I can say I am impressed with ease of operation for dialing in the settings and results of cleanliness for all the different types of loads (I didn't even use the high efficiency detergent recommended by the manufacturer and likely not use it in the future as the high cost of this option can't make much, if any, difference in the end result. The unit looks sharp and appears to be of high quality maybe not as high as a Samsung but at nearly one third the cost this is a no brainer ( if its performance can be counted on for 10 to 15 years).

If a 4 1/2 star rating were provided as a selection, I would've rated this washer slightly higher. This Insignia is actually a great washing machine. It has multiple options for wash cycles. The machine also allows for you to "pause" the cycle during all stages of the cycle. A major plus this washer offers is the "water plus" setting, which makes it so the washer can fill all the way to capacity, if needed. It has a spacious-size basin and the preset notification sound level for the different settings and end of the cycle is ideally tolerable. The machine, itself, doesn't run too loud either. Pricewise, this washer is an exceptional buy. I do several loads of laundry weekly (sometimes 10 - 15 loads), and in the past, I have owned an expensive Maytag and a pricey GE (with comparable Cu. Ft. sizing), and after about 3 years, both of them were inoperable. Frankly, the digital panel board goes out on many of "today's" washing machines after a few years, and most warranties are a complete waste of money on what is actually covered. If you're concerned about how this washer measures up against a major name-brand washer, my view is for you to seriously consider this Insignia over the more popular, name-brand machines. A drawback that the washer has is that the basin is locked into place and immovable to spin once the cycle has finished so you have to reach for the cleaned clothes on the farthest side of the basin in order to remove them. Another somewhat negative feature on this machine is the bleach compartment. It's located towards the inner part of the machine and it is relatively small in comparison to other dispensers/compartments.
