We bought it when we moved into our new home until we could get a full sized fridge (took about a week). It's now upstairs with the teenagers filled with ice cubes, Gatorade, water, PowerAde and other assorted things. The freezer is much bigger than we hoped. This mini fridge is fantastic.

It does ice a little in back of refidgerator as others have noted but otherwise works really well. This is certainly better than the small fridge/freezer combos and acts more like a grown up refidgerator with separate compartments. I'm convinced the room we have it in is cooler now as well.

It's just small enough to be within the dorm's regulations, but large enough to have a decent sized freezer (instead of just a drawer for an ice tray) that can fit ice cream, frozen foods, etc. It has a good amount of space for refrigerated food as well. I would definitely recommend it for a dorm or office.
