No freezer makes for so much fridge space! This is awesome. It is very important to get it level otherwise it will make a buzzing sound that’s very annoying.

We’ve been looking for a larger mini fridge to replace the “dorm-size” mini fridge that I’ve had since college that we use mostly for beverage storage and chose this Insiginia 4.4 cu. Ft. model because the outer dimensions fit the spot where we plan to use it (18.5”W x 21.5”D x 32.5”H). Its capacity is a little over 2.5 times larger than our current one, and it doesn’t have a freezer compartment taking up space. The back of the fridge is flat and could be pushed flush with a wall, though it’s recommended to leave 3 - 4 inches of clearance at the back and sides for ventilation. The power cord is 5 ft long and the unit weighs a little under 50 lbs. The top edge of the door is recessed and serves as the handle, so there are no protrusions from the front of the unit; the door hinge is reversible, so it can be opened to the right or to the left. The exterior of the fridge is metal and magnetic allowing you to place magnets on the door, sides, and top. Since it’s our beverage fridge, we stuck a magnet bottle opener right on the door for convenient access. The two feet at the front of the unit are also adjustable in height and can be used for leveling. Inside, the fridge has two full length glass shelves about 13” deep as the top and second shelves, with heights of 6 and 7.5 inches respectively; the third shelf is 7” tall with a 7” glass plate as the front half and rear half the shelf consisting of the area above the compressor, and the bottom shelf is also 7” tall but only 6” deep as the back section is occupied by the compressor. Note that there is a narrow gap behind each glass shelf, where small or thin items could drop through to the shelf below. The shelves are set back about 4.5” to accommodate the baskets on the inside of the door. There are three clear acrylic basket door trays, all with depths of 4.25” and heights of 6.5”, 13.5”, and 6.5” from top to bottom. The shelves and baskets are in fixed positions, and their heights and placement cannot be adjusted, however, all of them are removable for more height clearance or cleaning. There is a small but bright white LED on the right side of the fridge that illuminates the interior when you open the door. To set the temperature, just turn the analog dial marked with off, cold, recommended (middle of the dial), and coldest. When set to the “recommended” setting, I found that after 24 hours my beverages were cooled to just around 40°F +/- 0.5°F. This is the warmest temperature recommended for food safety, so make sure to use this setting or colder when storing raw and perishable fresh food like meat, dairy, or eggs. For those foods, I recommended keeping a digital fridge thermometer inside or checking regularly just to be sure. When set to "coldest," the temperature was closer to 32-33°F, and items close to the back wall tend to freeze. I would avoid placing sealed carbonated drinks or frost sensitive foods like fresh veggies against the back. You may also see ice buildup on the back cooling panel and need to defrost the unit occasionally. If condensation does occur and when defrosting, the water typically drips down the back wall into a small drain at the bottom which collects in the tray at the back. When plugged in, the refrigerator compressor hums a little while it is chilling (~40dB). Once it has reached the temperature you’ve set, the compressor shuts off, and the unit is completely silent while the temperature inside is held constant. The area around the fridge tends to get a bit warm as the fridge puts out some heat while running, however, the energy guide estimates that average annual electricity usage is 228 kWh as it is Energy Star certified, and the recommended ambient operating temperature range is 55-110°F. This mini fridge would be great for folks who mostly purchase beverages in 6-12 oz aluminum cans as you can fit plenty of them on each shelf. However, if you tend to buy beverages in taller containers e.g. glass bottles of soda/beer, note that the only spot where these fit standing up (with all the shelves/trays installed) is the middle basket on the door. The same is true for wine bottles, quart, and half gallon jugs of juice or milk. You can, of course, lay taller unopened bottles down on their sides to fit on other shelves; just be careful as bottles may roll around. Your other option would be to remove some or multiple shelves which would allow you to place taller items in the main section of the fridge. I took out the top and bottom glass shelves to fit tall beverage bottles though was still able to use the half shelf above the compressor for smaller items like soda cans. The two top shelves rest within grooved channels with a stop at the front corners to prevent the shelves from slipping out, however, the bottom half-shelf has no such stops, so just be aware that the shelf slides out easily. Overall, the mini fridge does a great job keeping food and drinks cold at food safe temperatures as low as freezing (32°F/0°C). I also like its clean external appearance and reversible door hinge. However, the lack of adjustable height shelves means that in order to store taller items, we’ll have to remove a shelf or two, leading to some wasted space.

I recently purchased the Insignia 4.4 cu. ft. refrigerator, and I couldn't be happier with it. It's the perfect size for my space, whether you need it for a dorm room, office, or a small apartment. The design is sleek and modern, fitting seamlessly with my décor. The interior is well-organized, offering plenty of storage with adjustable shelves and a spacious freezer compartment that actually freezes things solid! One of the best things is how quiet it is. I barely notice it's running, which is a huge plus. It keeps my food and drinks at just the right temperature, and the energy efficiency has been a pleasant surprise – I haven’t seen a spike in my electric bill at all. Overall, the Insignia 4.4 cu. ft. fridge is a great value for the price. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for a compact, reliable, and stylish refrigerator!

No wasted space in this sleek mini-fridge

I'll admit. When I think of Best Buy, I think of the newest and greatest tech available. We don't think about refrigerators. But here I am, reviewing a mini-fridge. And you know what? It's one of the most impressive items I've gotten at Best Buy. It's exceeded my expectation for how sleek it looks and how much it holds. We recently had our 15-year-old mini-fridge go out on us, so I was on the lookout for a new one, but I wasn't in a rush to go out and buy one because it was for our "extra" milk and eggs we kept out in the garage. We also updated our main fridge from Best Buy a few months ago, which we loved. It had much more storage than our last one, so the need for a mini-fridge in the garage was in question. However, I'm happy we got it before the summer months came. My son and his friends play basketball every day in our driveway, so with the garage open, the fridge is usually a place where they can grab a Waterloo or water while playing. It's become a popular spot so far, with the weather consistently nice. This fridge has no freezer, which I love because we have a chest freezer. A freezer section in a mini-fridge is rarely a good idea because of the limited space. This fridge is sleek. There is no wasted space inside or outside. The top hinge will open the door, but it can also be opened using the left side. That's a great feature because we have it on top of a custom-built dog kennel, so the little ones may have trouble reaching the top hinge. This can be set up and loaded within 10 minutes. The most time-consuming step is removing the tape and stylophone pads from the shelves. I'm glad they secured it so well, though, so peeling off the tape was manageable. I could pick the fridge up and place it in the dog kennel myself. It's around 40 lbs. It's not too heavy to move around, but not light enough when you don't want it to. This would be perfect for a dorm or small apartment. It's funny; our old main fridge from 2008 went out. We got another one and wondered why we waited so long to upgrade. We had the same sentiment with this mini-fridge. We're glad we waited until those other ones stopped working, but boy, is having these two new fridges a game changer for us. This one is excellent if you're in the market for a fridge. At $250, it's on the higher end when shopping around. However, for the size you get and the amount of goodies you can store, $250 is an outstanding value. Insignia designed this one nicely. 4.4 cubic feet that, leaves no wasted space at all.

    Small Design, Lots of Room

This mini fridge seems thinner and taller than other fridges I have seen, a fact that really works well for me. This fridge on the outside is simple black and would work with just about any room design, whether this is for a dorm room, rec room or even your garage. I live in a condo and really didn’t have the room in the kitchen, so I put mine in the garage. The interior has plenty of room (4.4 cubic feet) for whatever you need. So far I have 46 beverage cans with the bottom and top shelves empty. I will have room to make salads, etc for an upcoming picnic and won’t have to worry about cramming things into my indoor fridge. This even has an interior light, which most mini fridges I have seen do not. I was a bit worried about having this in my garage where sometimes it gets up into the 90s, but according to the user manual this mini fridge is good for 55 to 110 degrees for optimal performance. Since my garage never goes below 60 and never higher than in the 90s, I am confident it will be fine. The temperature dial inside shows the recommended optimal temperature. I have found that with my garage being a bit warm I have had to adjust the fridge temperature to be a bit cooler. My mini freezer has no problems being out there and has operated well for the past year with below normal temperatures for my area. If this is to be used in a home, you will be happy to know that I have heard very little noise when it turns on, it seems to run quietly. The directions state to get it into position and let it sit for about 4 hours before plugging it in and turning it on. I really like this mini fridge as a beverage cooler, but it can hold lots of things for parties and would work well in a dorm room. I would highly recommend this fridge and in my opinion the price meets the quality. The only thing that might be a reason not to get this would be if you really need extra freezer space, but I found most mini fridges freezers have totally not enough room for much of anything and just built up a lot of ice. I hated defrosting the other one I had.

I can't say enough about how well this 4.4 Cu Ft fridge performs. I have always wanted to get one for my game room and it fit the bill perfectly. Insignia built it like a tank to withstand whatever situation you want to put it in. The fridge was packed well to prevent damage while in transit. Although mine was a little dinged up on one side, being all black made it hardly noticeable. Aesthetics aside, it had no effect on how well it performed. I had to cut 3 ribbon wires and just lift the box right off to reveal the fridge. Ample space for many items (I, myself am using it for only drinks) including drinks, eggs, juices, sandwich meats etc. The shelves are plenty study to hold a full capacity of beverages. While you can remove them to create more height in between, they are not adjustable. They all have fixed railings. The bottom has a "notch" that you can see so that is your max you can go before the bottom door shelf hits to prevent it from closing. The coldness is handled by an easy to read dial that goes from cold to coldest (32F to 50F) and I set mine to a quarter turn until coldest and it is perfect for me. Noise level for this Insignia is surprising quiet. It is audible when cooling down the inside, but not enough for you to notice unless you are specially listening for it. I have this mini fridge set up in my game room in between my PC gaming desk and my console gaming area. Perfect for an easy to reach cold drink when the time hits me. I can also see this as a perfect fridge for a dorm room, guest room, basement etc. Super impressed with Insignia with quality and performance.

this Insignia mini fridge is perfect, I took mine to work so I can have cold drinks when I need it, and it’s being use almost everyday. the fridge stand about 33 inc tall. 3 platform inside the fridge and couple side storage you can also use. been using it for a week and it keeps the drink cold in no time, within an hour my drink will be cold enough for me to enjoy. 33inc tall for is a great size for a mini fridge you can store in your garage, or work area like what im currently doing. the cold level I have mine set to middle section which is the recommended temperature insignia labeled. the fridge also have one light right where the dial is at on the right side inside the fridge, not much negative thing I could say about insignia mini fridge than the one I have is black and it’s finger print magnet, also viewing from the side the front door cover I can see warp on the quality of the paint, you won’t be able to see unless you’re viewing it on certain angle, it’s not really an issue since it’s being use for work, but overall those are the only bad thing i’ve notice. insignia mini fridge has been a joy to use while working, having access to my drink right away, keeping it cool in no time is what makes it a great addition on my daily use. I highly recommend this one, perfect for small spaces

The Insignia 4.4 Cu. Ft. Mini Fridge is more than I expected. Once unboxing and letting the mini fridge sit overnight, I plugged it in and set it to medium setting, which shows as recommended on the dial. I also filled the mini fridge with 24 cans of soda, 36 bottles of 24oz iced tea and a sandwich. I was able to put 15 of the 24 cans inside the door shelves easily. I put the remaining nine cans of soda on the bottom shelf of the mini fridge. I then proceeded to lay the iced tea bottles on their sides and they fit easily. And last, I placed the sandwich on the top shelf in front of the bottles. Plenty of space. Also, I happen to have a small thermometer and placed it inside the mini fridge to test how cold it is. At the recommended dial setting, the mini fridge showed the temperature at 50 degrees. I then rotated the setting to halfway between "recommended" and "coldest". The thermometer showed the temperature at about 44 degrees. Next, I turned the dial to "coldest" and the thermometer was showing about 34 degrees. What I also like is that the mini fridge has a light and it's in the perfect spot once the door is opened. The mini fridge is sturdy and not too heavy if you need to move it up or down stairs, in a different area of a room. No issues and I highly recommended it. No

As a family of four (with two VERY hungry boys), we’re always seemingly needing a little extra space to keep things refrigerated. We had officially reached the stage of stuffing the fridge to absolute maximum capacity after a grocery run. Needless to say, an additional fridge was something that was high on our priority list. This fridge from Insignia was perfect for us. It’s small enough for us to tuck away in our garage and use it for those times when we need extra space. The quality is better than I expected for a fridge at this price; everything seems sturdy and well made. The glass shelves are easily removable for cleaning (or just extra space for tall items) and the in-door trays are sturdy and support cans and bottles without issue. The light inside is more than adequate and the temp adjustment dial is easily accessible. The design is handsome with a more low-profile appearance that will fit in anywhere. It’s especially well designed for drink cans and bottles; the middle shelf and middle door tray are designed specifically with this in mind. There’s only one con for me, which is that the shelves aren’t adjustable so you’re stuck with the configuration that it has out of the box. You can easily remove a shelf or tray to make more room but that’s your only play. That said, as I mentioned earlier, it’s well thought out and usable. We are really impressed and very happy with how with this fridge. Now we have the extra space we need and our kids have easy access to snacks and cold water for those days they’re playing with the neighborhood kids.

The fridge is relatively light weight when empty. It is recommended in the instructions that you leave the unit upright prior to plugging in. After that simply plug it in and set the temp. I left it on the Recommended setting and it was plenty cold. The slim design will make it a perfect fit for me, though if you are wanting this to put under a desk/table at work then this will not really be for you. This has come in handy while I've been remodeling my new home. Don't have any appliances so I figured a small fringe would be useful to keep drinks in for the workers (my family) and plan to move it out to the garage workshop once the house is move in ready. I am surprised at how quiet this is that I thought one of the workers may have unplugged it to paint the room. Opened it up after the first day and it was pretty cold. Added some beverages and they were cold the next day. I have no complaints. It does what it should do by keeping contents cold and it is relatively quiet. The inside has decent space and could be used for a small department work fridge.

    Nice, but Lacks Flexibility

This 4.4 cubic “dorm” size refrigerator is a nice unit. Attractive design, clean lines, glass shelves, plastic bins in the door. It unpacked easily (tip – cut the box vertically on each corner on one side; this will allow you to slide the unit right out). One of the things I noticed is this bumper (?) on the back. It was not straight, so I thought maybe it was packing material, so I tried to gently remove it. Didn’t budge. So, I’m assuming this is a buffer between the refrigerator and the wall, even though I thought this unit was allowed to be up against the wall and still be operational. I next had to remove the internal packing materials. I know why there is so much packing material, but UGH! THE PACKING MATERIAL! Peeling off strip after strip of tape, then foam on the corners of the shelves that were also taped on. The interior was really nice for a “dorm” size refrigerator. What I didn’t like, however, is that the shelves are not really adjustable. You can have them installed, or not. There isn’t a lot of space between each shelf. If you are planning on using this unit for something like beer or soda cans, you will probably be fine. I am using this refrigerator for various beverages and possibly for overflow from the main refrigerator (like for Thanksgiving leftovers). As you can see from the photo attached to this review, I had to remove a shelf to accommodate a gallon jug. Normally I have orange juice in there as well (more than just the one shown in the door), which are too tall to sit on the shelves as designed. I really wish this had the flexibility that I need. The 3.3 cubic refrigerator that this is replacing had more flexibility with shelf placement. I placed the unused shelf on top of the refrigerator. I hope it does not get broken there. The light is nice for seeing in the refrigerator. I don’t know that it is necessary, but it’s nice. For flexibility, I would give this product three stars. I am adding back in a star because it is so attractive and well made.

The Insignia™ - 4.4 Cu. Ft. Mini Fridge has been a nice addition to my kitchen. The fridge has a substantial amount of space, I haven't even begun to utilize it all. The glass shelves are removable which is nice. If you have a tall item that you want to fit, it has plenty of space by removing the shelf. The fridge is also impressively deep. It is much larger than I expected. It is about 2.75 inches lower than my countertop (see pic). I had a space between my kitchen cabinets and a window that was needing "something." I considered a shelving unit of some sort. When I saw these dimensions, it was a perfect fit. Note, there is no tiny freezer space inside. I've seen those kinds before and they always need frost chipped off over time. This version is nice clean. I monitored the temperature for many days with my temperature sensors made for fridges and freezers. I have two different brands of sensors that I used. If the refrigerator is at the "recommended" setting on the knob, it is not hitting the 40°F ideal fridge setting. I basically had to put it at max cold to get just under 40°F (39.2°F). As the fridge gets more items, it will possibly improve. However, in my case, the couple degree difference is not critical because I mostly have carbonated water cans inside. Chilled drinks don't require precise temps. On the recommended setting it ran about 41.5-42.5°F. When I crack open the drink, it's nice and cold. If I hadn't checked the temp, I would have assumed it was hitting the 40° F target. Again, in my case the degree or two is not critical. I'm excited to stock up on fruits and veggies this summer to keep healthier options on hand for the kids. This will give me plenty of extra space for that.

I bought this to replace one that wasn’t keeping items cold enough. This mini refrigerator delivered promptly and the delivery guys were great and brought it in to where we needed it. My son helped set it in place and plugged it in. OMGosh, our beverages and food stay so nice and cold. Such a huge difference! Only try hung and not a big deal but missing one of the front feet to level it out. I called and they are shipping me a new one.

4.4 Cu. Ft great size, not freezer. Exactly what we are looking for. Doors can be made to open both ways.
