We just ditched cable and needed a new remote. This remote worked with the Roku player, Sony TV, cheap DVD player I bought on college, and a pioneer receiver from the 90's. Took the place of all the remotes. Our old U-verse remote didn't do that.

This is a perfect remote. I would have given it a 5 star had I been able to program it with my cable box. I dont think any remote works with my box other than a remote that is $100 plus so this was perfect for me.

Yes its me again. I needed a universal remote for another television in my home for the same reason of lost during a move. Having a remote that is specifically for your television is awesome. It is not complicated to operate and I can switch between my regular TV and my fire stick.

I lost the remote that came with my 48'' Insignia TV. The remote was pretty small and the TV model is currently "Out of Stock" or has been discontinued. I decided to get an Insignia universal remote for a Insignia TV. The remote was very easy to program and its bigger than the original remote. A little expensive, but you get what you pay for.

I bought the remote to use for my TV and Roku. It handles both well. I wish more functions were universal between devices and worked like volume does, but I can't complain for the price.

I purchased two of these on a flash deal at a greatly reduced price, since it was a little annoying having to switch remotes in the living room and bedroom. I did finally get both remotes working how I want them, but it took time, patience, and experimentation. I may not have a typical setup. My TVs are a few years old, not "smart", and I mute both of them and listen to sound through a stereo receiver in the living room, and a soundbar in the bedroom. Since the TVs are not "smart", I do not have any streaming devices. Luckily, all my devices are ones in the "top 10" brands in the little tables in the device documentation, so assigning the buttons was pretty straightforward. Otherwise, you have to go through a "learning" routine that may be time-consuming. Also, if you have a setup similar to mine, you have to realize that there is NOT a button for AUDIO (e.g. receiver or soundbar), BUT there is an AUDIO OPTION in the programming. At first that was very puzzling, until I finally realized that you can "dummy assign" the audio device to ANY button. The extremely basic documentation that comes with the remote does not make that option clear at all, you have to kind of figure it out. So I decided to assign the audio controls to the DVD button, since when I watch a Blu-Ray I tend to use the Blu-Ray device remote anyway. Then, for my setup, I want to power down the TV and STB separately every night, so I don't get "ghost" audio playing through the stereo or soundbar. This remote makes that very difficult to do because it comes with a default setting that "ties" the TV and STB controls together. You can disable it, but I found that in practice it is very hard to break. For both rooms, I had to assign and reassign buttons multiple times in different orders several times until it would magically function how I wanted. Unfortunately I cannot tell you exactly how I did it, you will just have to experiment. Or, if you listen to sound on your TV and have a smart TV with a streaming device, maybe none of these issues will apply to you. Another little hitch is terminology if you still have cable instead of streaming. On Frontier remotes, the button to access your recorded programming is just called "DVR". On this remote, the "LIST" button fulfills that function. The "30 second skip ahead" button on Frontier is the "-->" button on the remote. These really aren't that hard to figure out, but again, there is absolutely no help in the documentation. Because of the difficulties I had with setup, I could not recommend these remotes at regular price, but if you can catch them on sale and you have a typical setup and "name brand" equipment, it is definitely worth it to be able to use one remote.

My tv remote broke after a month of having it. Best buy did not offer to replace it. But they did show me where to buy another one. At least this remote is sturdy and easy to use.

It deserves a 4.5 rating. Good sturdy remote. Similar to directv remote feel and dimensions. Some of the functions when switching inputs don't work, but overall good remote for the price.

This remote comes with a wide variety of products it can be programmed to. There are also multiple steps for programming if the first way does not work. We easily programmed one TV with this remote and another took longer but it did eventually program to the DVD player.

Several months ago we lost the remote that came with our tv. After turning the house upside down, we gave up and finally purchased a new one. The remote does the trick. It was easy to set up and we have not had any problems since we purchased it. I would highly recommend it!

I purchase this universal remote to be able to control a Roku Express, LG Smart TV and a Panasonic sound bar with it and not having to use two remotes. This remote make posible to me to cut cable and streaming very easy. I end up buying fou of the remotes for the other TV's and Rokus Express.

The remote is very reasonably priced and worked well. It was not too hard to setup. In the instructions, there are codes that work with your brand of tv, disc player, etc. I liked the fact that is also works with Roku and Apple TV. The only downside is if you want to put on the sleep timer for TV, you have to hit TV button first and then menu, etc. But that is better than holding multiple remotes. Harmony has universal remotes that take a little longer to program but work well with multiple devices and you don't have to push different buttons for different devices. But for $20 it has worked great.

I purchased item when my remote died, but I was worried that it wouldn't work (I had purchased a universal remote before that didn't work). This one works perfectly, just make sure that the brand of your TV, DVD player, etc, is listed as compatible with this remote.
